Report a phone call from 08007838555 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- BatsranExactly the same, call on my mobile (a number that only the new company EDF and the pricecomparison site know).
As soon as I answered they/it hung up. I say it since I suspect this is an automatic dialler that drops the line if there isn't a spare moron to route the call to. What is sad is that eon wrote to me and simply asked me not to switch and call their sales line! No incentive at all. This should not be hard, when promo's have expired why not try to put punter on a competive tarriff rather than slide to normal and expensive. If they were more proactive then they would stand a better chance of retaining custom. Sadly these energy suppliers make the real money of the guys who don't bother to check the markets when their contracts expire and just keep on paying. This is part of the reason why they love people to go paperless- one less reminder to check prices. - MarkI had a call from this too and have recently requested to change from E-On to Scottish Power. The call only rang for 2 seconds then stopped so i had no time to answer. Guess i know what it was for now, but they couldn't keep me no matter what, and they will get me back in 6 months most likely. I change every 3 months and get cashback, meaning my energy bills cost next to nothing.
So i'm used to these types of calls as it's the same with car, house insurance etc.
The only annoying thing is when it doens't ring, or nobody speaks when you answer. if i answer my phone and a sales person speaks to me, i don't mind! But if it just goes silent and hangs up on me then it's annoying!!- Caller: E-On
- RobYes, I got one from 0800 0511626 - I am also changing from Eon - the call was asking me to phone but there was a lot of background noise and it wasnt clear who it was from. The name Eon sounds very indistinct on a poor line, doesnt it? They need something with more consonants really.
- sionsYes its EON and guess what ive just switched from them to OVO. They were expensive and had let my account over run for 12 months and wanted to put me on a horrendus direct debit. No way, paid the balance and switched!
There customer care is awful, will do what pete says and complain. bar that ive invested in a whistle!- Caller: EON
- AndrewI have just received a call fromt his number - when I answered it I could hear two females having a 'loose women' type of conversation and loads of laughter then the phone went dead.
When they return the call I will ask them to 'hang on a minute please' then leave my phone on the sofa and go about my day. lol - CherylI got a call from this number and answered it after only two rings. It hung up as I said hello. I notice someone below has mentioned Eon. We have just switched from Eon so I guess this is who it is. Eon were apparently once Powergen
- Caller: Eon
- Paul Hill| 1 replyIts E-on. When you switch suppliers (from E-on) to another one you usually get an e-mail to confirm this. The day after E-on will ring you and mither you to stay. I tell them I switched because they are two expensive! Just leave the phone off the hook.
- Caller: E-on
- BlahhAnnoying!! ringing and ringging and ringing... maybe i should just answer the phone but its definatley a sales person... go away!! i dont want to know!!
- Caller: 08007838555
- Stan Smith| 1 replyYou guys really need to open your eyes, these people are only doing there job and really are only calling to make sure the transfer is a correct switch. i had a call, explained i had found a cheaper deal, they said thats no probs, hopefully we can offer a better deal in future, very good company and i will move back in future if they can save me money.
- Caller: Eon
- Call type: Telemarketer
- shaggyStan, some people are so narrow minded and they think everytime someone calls them they try to sell you something. Eon are calling to 1 see if you really are trying to transfer you supplier (you would think people would be greatful of this) and 2 see if they can get you to stay. I wont as Im changing due to the cost but once you tell them this you no longer get any more calls from them.... sorted! So you all you idiots who keep getting annoyed by there phone calling - just answer it, tell them your reason then they wont bother you anymore. Its life that people will call your phone and I get them all the time and adopt this approach.
- Caller: E.ON
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Shaggy replies to Paul HillThink you are a genius! Answering a phone, now that must be new to you.
- Paul Hill replies to Stan SmithYou idiot! I have personal experience of this! Read my earlier post. This number rings to mither you to stay with E-on. They've just rung me again! Post when you know what you are talking about. Please.
- Danny| 4 repliesI used to work for eon in this department. Let me tell you how it works.
When you leave, your account is loaded onto a task list for the Winback department to work through. All contact numbers are provided by the customer, so everyone saying they have never given eon the number, i'm sorry but your not speaking the truth!
You will continue to recieve the calls until you answer and tell eon why you are leaving. Some accounts have been called 50-60 times.
I would say 2 out of every 10 people do not even know they are leaving, and they have been signed up to another company without their consent, so it is important that eon do make the calls.
As for better tariffs being offered to all customers, new tariffs are brought out on a monthly basis. Eon have 8 million customers. How are they meant to go through every account to see what is best for each customer? Its impossible. Maybe if the customer was more proactive, it would be better.
We would also find as a result of winback calls, that probably 70% customers were not moving onto a cheaper tariff with their new supplier and would be better staying with eon, so it is probably best to hear them out when they call you. - ToonArmy001 replies to Chrispyeah I just had a call, missed it. I checked as I had this number before and it is E.on
I've just changed supplier as I'm saving £280+ a year with my new supplier.
Pestering and badgering. - ToonArmy001 replies to Danny| 3 repliesexplain to me how E.on have my number then, as i have not given them my new number and it is ex-directory
and i also have these type of calls blocked usually, as i called a freephone number to stop cold calling on my home phone and mobile. - Danny replies to ToonArmy001| 2 repliesYou will have given your number. Fact. How else can they get it. It isn't a cold call. You are a customer of theirs. TPS doesn't apply here.
- Graeson Laitt replies to Danny| 1 replySorry - but I haven't given them my number. Fact. I don't own a house. I do not have an account with Eon. I am not (and not likely to be in the near future) a customer or Eon.
- Danny replies to Graeson LaittSo where do you think they have got your number from.
This team is the "Winback" department. They winback customers. So you must be telling porkies. - Beckyg89Rang me today. If it is EON i am in the process of switching to scottish power. But as soon as i answered they hung up. Strange
- Mac| 1 replyYes, this is definatley Eon retention department
- Caller: E-on
- Call type: Telemarketer
