Report a phone call from 08009889900 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- PeterI also entered a competition at beginning of December 2008. Had a phone call saying I had won a holiday today. I work for Trading Standards so assumed it was dodgy. Googled the number 0889889900 and luckily found this site so won't be calling.
- dave newmanthanks for the info thought it was too good to be true
wont be wasting our time
thanks again - Preston IronedSame as others. The guy calling me couldn't explain why he himself wasn't able to tell me about this fantastic holiday, and why I had to call 0800 9889900 with a reference to win my "fantastic prize".
I was skeptical pretty much straight away. My normal practice is to stay totally silent until their "script" runs out, then just say "uh - huuuuuh" in a cynical and sarcastic tone. These sub-minimum wage monkeys soon realise you are taking the p*$$ out of them, and don't waste too long on you.- Caller: CLC Hotels & Resorts
- deanjust had the call saying i've won a holiday for 4 and that i need to ring 08009889900 quoting my ref no. thankfully my partner is a questioning type and checked out the number on net before ringing and found this forum. glad she's not a trusting type as i may have fallen foul of this scam.
- PhilJust had a call from this number, was immediately suspicious by the loud call centre the guy was calling from then when he told me I had to call a free phone number to get the free holiday I knew it must be a scam. I won't be calling them thats for sure.
- PamI had a call this morning telling me that I'd won a holiday to the value of £5000 and to call 08009889904. A rather loud course sounding lady at the end of the phone then asked if my husband abd I were aged between 50 and 62 (funny question to ask if you'd been told you'd won a holiday!!)When I told her that we weren't she told me that in that case we did not qualify!!!! Turns out this is a CLC Resorts and Hotels Timeshare scam. I got a lucky escape by being too old!!!

- Stan FGave details at the NEC, Microlight Show. I have just been to the presentation, no real hard sell, unfortunately not affordable at present. This is a good deal if you want to travel to a really good standard of accommodation. I have nothing to do with the company, and feel they are not a scam company. We have a £25 M&S voucher and the forms for a 7 day holiday in Tenerife or Portugal.
- PaulI just had a call saying that, I won a holiday too and told me to contact in the same Number.
I just wonder why the police cannot trace these bloody scammers?- Caller: no
- MajannaThey only called me today.
It's 2009 and the same sam is still going on!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOORING!!!- Caller: Club la costa
- WendyJust had a call from these guys, I completed a questionaire while at Malaga airport at christmas, as a thankyou for my time I was entered into comp' to win holiday. Got the call this morning, sure enough I have won 1st prize, flights for 4 people plus destination accomodation up to the value of £1500! all I have to do was ring this no: and quote ref.
Generally I tend to think that if it sounds too good to be true it generally is.
I googled the number and hey presto! all these people just as suspicious as me.
I'm pretty sure they had my address and email when I filled out the questionare. So why don't they just post me my details of the holiday? sounds to complicated to me. - louise from kentMy husband recieved a call yesterday for me to call 08009889900 quoting the given reference number. I'm tempted to call. We previously won 1 week in Spain plus the use of a hire car. We had to sit through a 2-3 hour timeshare sales pitch and the guy wasn't happy with us when we said no. Even took us into another room before giving us our holiday forms. But determination on our part paid off. Was advised we'd have to sit through another presentation in Spain, but when we got there the guy could see we weren't gonna budge, so let us off! Had a great week off-season in a quiet apartment.
You have to play these people at their own game! - craigJust been called by thee scammers. Very professional and almost believable, but avoid at all costs. Called herself CLC Chester

- debJust had a call from these guys at CLC saying I have won a 7 night all expenses paid holiday to Cuba for 4 people, he told me to call 0800 988 9900, I asked what the catch was, he said there wasnt one so i asked him to put it in writing instead as I wont be calling he said ok.

- Lesley 28 Jan 2009Just received a call could not understand what caller was saying as he spoke too fast, seemed to know my email address, postcode and mobile phone number. He told me to call 0800 988 9900 and quote a reference number. Told me I would not need to pay anything at all. Needless to say that I won't be doing this.
- Caller: No known
- trevorhad a call earlier today, (won a holiday). checked out the number first and found to be timeshare, will not be calling
- NikkiGot a call from a guy called Steve who said he was calling from CLC in Essex. Said I'd filled out a survey on-line - back in March - and as a thank you for completing it, we'd been selected for a 2 week holdliday for 4 people, which coudl be taken within the next 18 months.
He knew my name, one of my email addresses, but had us down as being married (we're not yet), and that we were both within a certain age bracket (We're not; my other half is quite a bit odler than me) Gave me a freephone number 0800 988 9900 to call which he said was Head Office in London, to claim my prize. GAve an alpha-numeric reference to quote and said they were open between 11am - 6pm tomorrow (Friday).
I asked directly whethere this was Time Share - he said no. We actually went along to one of their presentations last year, with CLC, and they were basically trying to get us to buy a narrow boat for a year and then rent it out.- Caller: CLC
- LaurenCall from them today 02-02-2009 to my mobile phone. Think they had tried several times today, but I didn't answer as its been coming up as an "unknown" number on my mobile. Apparently I had won a holiday for 4... inc hotel, flights... blah blah blah. The guy ringing said that I had won from a prize draw of a survey I had entered online, but didnt say who the survey was for. He started going through my age, postcode, martial status, etc, when I stopped him and asked me why he was going through it and where he'd had the info from, he said it was from the survey and he was just confirming... "now that he knew my details were correct he invited me to ring this number"... 0800 988 9900, which obviously I googled and came across this site before doing anything. Have to say his info was quite out of date, I have not lived with my bf for 2 years, yet he had me down as co-habiting, well married actually lol!
I'm sorry but do they think we're daft... win a holiday out of the blue!!!! call me a half empty kinda gal but... seriously?!
Needless to say havent bothered calling, can't be bothered with being sold a timeshare. Thanks guys for posting and warning.- Caller: CLC
- Davejust recevied a call from a chipmunk on amphetimines saying congratulations your about to get ripped off just for answering your phone ,as you can imagine i was over the moon with excitment and proceded to raise my middle finger at the phone as i politly declined the offer of my soul being stolen by the children of satan.............these people deserve a long and painfull death.

P.S Nurse,I've fallen out of bed again!!!
Scam or what! - DeniseYes another one to me - the give away was that when I asked him what was their head office address he didn't know, and nor did his supervisor. Do they think I just fell off the gravy train?
