- NigeJust had one of these calls. "You Have just won a randomly generated holiday for 4 people" ,all i need to do is just ring 08009889900 within 24 hours and pay £29.50 per person for admin. Good ol' google, amazing the power of the internet these days!

- HCouldnt agree more!
just had a call and googled the same number.. I'm expecting another call shortly as i wont be phoning their freefone no! losers.. I just wish everyone checked things like this out before falling for it so these companies would give up and move to mars. - RHONDA VANDERWOODReceived a call at the office asking for boss's wife; I told him she was not here but he chose to ignore me. Apparently they had won a holiday for 4 and had to call the 0800 988 9900 number ASAP, Carlos said if I did within 5 minutes I'd win another prize! Sounded fishy so I googled the number and got this!

- NathanI have 'won' a free holiday .. and some theatre tickets but I have to call this number!
Have sat through timeshare sales pitches twice before (ok some never learn) and teh prizes just never quite meaterialise or are so retrictive as to be useless.
Ignore them, - StanHad a call from Euro Travel, the same story about a luxury holiday for 4. Asked to give a ring to an absolutely free number 08009889900, with the reference br64, asked to confirm the numbers and to make sure I call during the next 30 minutes. Of course I gooled it and added this comment.

- Gary ReynoldsTold me I'd won a holiday and gave me this number and a reference, called back and was told I'd not won at all and actually they were selling time share
- ChrisSame as above but I had entered a competition recently so they nearly got me. Thank god for this site and Google, just had to check before I called and here I am.

- A CardwellJust got a call too. Same old scam - free holiday etc

Report them to trading standards for false advertising people :)- Caller: CLC Resorts & Hotels
- DoryI had a phone call from these people, they told me I'd won a prize of a holiday and that I can take it in Europe or the UK. The weird thing is, I'd just entered a few online competitions so thought it might be a genuine thing. I got suspicious when they told me to ring the 0800 number, I was told to ring it within 24 hours or I'd lose the prize. I thought that was odd as when I've won 'online' prizes before they just get posted to me, I don't need to do anything.

- AndyI received a call asking me to call straight back. Said I had won a holiday. Congratulated me at least 600 times!! Number was witheld
Thanks for the above comments. I won't be returning the call!!
If something seems to good to be true........ - Paul JI,ve just won aholiday, lots of destinations, ref no again call0800 etc, very noisy office, said she was Rachel, no time limits, very jolly and congratulted in a very impressive way. My dead pan manner did not seem to perturb either. Suprise suprise I googled it.
Suspicion is a wonderful thing. I'm sick of winning stuff I haven't entered, there is no more room under the bed for all the cash won! - mikewon a holiday
- tonythey are at it again . dont ring ,its just a scam . if it sounds too good to be true it usually is
- gailforceHad this call today, same as all the others posted on here. I run a competition club where we enter genuine competitions and avoid these scams. My advice is...any genuine competition does not normally require you to pay anything to receive your prize, and very seldom asks you to ring them back, if ever.(Unless you wish to ring them in order to book a genuine holiday prize, once you have had time to arrange things.)If in doubt, ask them to put the details in the post, and of course, they will have you address,if it's genuine, so don't give it to them. As someone else has suggested on here, have a bit of fun with companies like this when they ring. Keep them holding on for ages, pretend you can't hear them or understand them. Ask them their own personal details, like where are you ringing from, is it sunny there etc. Be creative, and make it your own bright part of the day! That way they will probably remove your number from their data bank!

- SCall received from man who I could barely understand. Said I had won return flights and 7 nights accomodation for 2 people. I just had to call 0800 988 9900 to claim.
I have been caught out like this before and asked if it was a timeshare. He said they do sell timeshare but I can still claim a prize. Hmmm don't think I'll bother - ToonmumThey phoned my mobile tonight. Kept them on for as long as I could be bothered while I had my son searching for a pen (he's 4 - it took a while!) Then noted down the details, beofer finally asking if it was time-share. There was a long pause, then I was told yes they do sell that, to which I laughed. I said instead of wasting my time going to the presentation could they not just send my the holiday vouchers and I'd go to the presentations once I was out there. Not surprisingly, she declined. She ended the call quite quickly after that! ;)
