Report a phone call from 08009889900 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Tracy - 5 minutes agoJust been called again - twice this evening in a space of 1 hour informing me of my win - told them in not polite word that I was not interested and do not call me again - if they do then I will report them - lets see if they call again
- JuliaThey phoned me yesterday to tell me l had won a prize (holiday) plus if l replied within 30 minutes l may win vouchers. l haven't called, thought l'd check it out first. l do enter alot of competitions but would expect notification via my email as all comps are online. Not going to ring, if it was genuine it would come through the post or via email and l would recognise the competition l had entered.

- MartynCall from Euro Travels - have won a holiday (!)
Have to ring the 0800 number and also a special bonus prize.- Caller: EuroTravels
- SteveMy second call from this company (Club La Costa / Euro Travel). The chap on the other end was difficult to understand (he's obviously not calling from the UK which means you can't take action against him/them to get the calls blocked).
Like everyone else, he knew my name and my wifes name and gave me a reference number (BK64) which I had to quote by calling 0800 988 9900 within 30 minutes.
When I said I was at work and would not be able to call until the evening, this was suddenly OK.
I didn't believe it from stage 1 but was interested in how they work the scam, so I called. Basically they get you to go to a presentation and try to sell you time share. We went (I was bored) and sat through 4 hours of hard sell. When I said I wasn't interested I was scheduled for another 'meeting' (2 hour presentation and more hard sell). At the end I was still not interested and was promised the holiday anyway. Imagine my surprise when, after 3 months, nothing has turned up (I never thought it would).
I'm very stubborn but they are very good at the hard sell and most people would undoubtedly sign on the dotted line (they give all sorts of 'get out' guarantees, none of which are worth anything). My advice is don't go unless you've got a free afternoon and you're bored and VERY strong willed, and next time they call, keep getting the phone and reference numbers wrong (tell them it's a bad line) so they stay on the phone for ages spending their own money.
Remember there's no such thing as a free lunch.- Caller: Club La Costa / Euro Travel
- sarahjust had a call, saying won holiday, suspicous, so i googled the phone number,
CANT BELIVE ANOTHER SCAM, AS BEEN DONE BEFORE at £15, - tanyahad phonecall about holidays in tuerky or austria, its 4th time they called me in last 4/5 month.
- neilgot a call from a company that did not give its name clearly. same stuff you have won 2nd prize of a holiday. but knew my name and email address. called me on my mobile number but the home number was ringing same time. sure it was them.
crazy stuff. my friend has been to one of these timeshare meetings and it is very high pressure sell. keep away.- Caller: did not catch the name
- DaveSame old story as everyone else here - it is plainly bollocks and I'm not even going to bother ringing the free number. Although I AM tempted to do so just so I can tell them where to stick it.
- A WhiteleyI got an invite from myoffers.co.uk where you can enter competetions for cars etc for which you fill in (randomly) a questionaire. and get free gifts for doing so. So in an idle moment filled in a few to see what happened.
Of course I didnt win the 1st prize but another for a holiday in Turkey ect- the caller giving me that number. Didnt call it but did the google
so put myoffers in your spam filter - the latest scam seems to invite you to add your address list for AOL or whoever so they can log into your email and pick up your contacts- Caller: myoffers
- BobSame thing - I haven't won 1st prize - a Caribbean holiday - but I have won a holiday in either Turkey, tenerife or somewhere else (plus the chance to win £50 High St vouchers). Reference GMSK938

Gave me a reference number, but I'm not ringing it - he said that he couldn't pass my details to this other company due to Data protection - rings alarm bells - so not phoning - they won't have my details will they?

- RJHave had two calls very recently telling me I'd won a competition on line.Said it was for 2 persons all fares paid return etc.Anywhere in the next 18 months around the Med. Booking fee £29 each .Gave me a long reference & suggested I ring this 0800 number. There was no 'gosh aren't you lucky or congratulations etc etc !' - PhilippaJust had the same call. And will receiving my package of information in the post.
Rang a friend who does competitions regularly and she send lets google the number. Glad I did. Happy moment ruined. ..Gits!! How misleading and what low business practise. Can't they find the staff?- Caller: CLT
- EmmaJust had a call saying I have entered a competition and won! My dream destination is aparently Mauritus and I have got a free holiday to Europe!
Given the 0800 988 9900 number and told to call and claim my prize.
I DON'T THINK SO - LindaReceived a call for my husband saying he had won a runner up prize of a holiday in one of four resorts but he had to ring this 0800 number before seven to claim. We've been caught out by scams by Holiday share companies before and so decided to google it first. Glad we did.

- mylesgot a call last night said i have won a holiday for four anywhere in europe
all i had to do was call 0800 9889900 before 5 and i would get my confermation through post or e mail thought i would google it first
saved my self some time - LouiseThree days ago I got a call to say I had won a free holiday including travel, and had to call 08009889900 to claim, using a ref - IPTCL228. I was sceptical and did nothing about it. Today they called again and asked how I got on ringing the freephone number to claim my holiday. I said I had not done it. I was asked why, and when I said that my husband thought it might be a dodgy number, they said 'not to worry' and hung up!!

- Louise BoltonUnfortunately, I can't remember where the man said he was calling from, but he told me I had one second prize in a competition that I distinctly remember entering, and quoted my email address and postcode to me without asking me for information. He said I had won a holiday to Austria or Switzerland for 4 people. He must have had my details from the competition I entered, which is strange. Thought I would check it out though as he gave me a reference and told me to call 0800 9889900 to claim it. I didn't understand why I would have to do this, as he was already telling me I had won.
Glad I checked it out!
