I received a call today saying i had won a holiday to spain portugal or the canary islands for 4 people including flights and to ring 08009889904. Not going to bother after reading this site Thanks Everyone

Received a call from 01268 557600, informing me I'd won a luxury holiday for 4 people including 4 return flights to Spain, Portugal or the Canary Islands. Also, if I phoned 0800 9889904 within the hour, I would also get a free gift. I called out of curiosity to be told I would need to attend a 2 hour seminar in London with no obligation. The only requirement was to pay £29.50 per person for taxes etc. Having checked out this site, I'll not be pursuing the matter any further. I also suspect Mr Anthony Bluesdow who added the post on the 3rd March 2008, is indeed an employee of Club La Costa :-)

i recived a phone call this eveining offering a free holiday to varoius destinations in europe  with reference no **   apparantly  i had completed a questionaire at the nec  ,which i did attend ?? ,.  to ring 08009889904 . i phoned , to be told i needed to book an appoinment at lakside (kent) i asked what costs were involved , £29.50 per peson + taxes . plus 2 hours of grilling at an exibition , as iam secptical i googled this number .   thanks

I have an appointment booked to see them on the 4th of January. I reckon that given what I have read here, I might just give it a miss!

My girlfriend received a call before Christmas from the alleged Club La Costa regarding a week holiday reward. After all our personal details were confirmed by the operator, she was told to call the number 08009889904 and to provide the operator with a code in order for them to mail us all information needed to collect our tickets. My girlfriend called them back straightaway to the above number and gave them the code. Then, they replied to her saying that a letter would be sent to our address informing the date and the place for the meeting to collect those tickets. A second call was made after Christmas. This time a person who just identify himself as a Verifications Senior Operator told me that according to their records we did not call the 08009889904. Suspiciously, I replied to him saying that first I wanted to have a chat with my girlfriend and second they could call us back later on if they wanted to.
My suspicious was correct after finding out on this website that their telephone number was linked to a scam series. I would like to thank the authors of this website which is very helpful and all of you for reporting this scam!

I received a call today from a lady saying that I too had won a holiday for 4 in Europe/ UK for 7 nights and that the claim was valid for 18 months and that if I didn't delay in claiming I would also get shopping vouchers. She gave me a reference number and told my to call 08009889904.

I remember filling in a survey at the Centre Court Shopping Centre in Wimbledon just before Christmas, and the lady referred to this.  At first I was taken in, but tonight I decided to google the number she gave me to call to claim the holiday, just to double check and I found this site!

I am suprised that a major shopping centre is allowing this kind of scam to take place on their premises.  Surely they know what is going on?

A couple of years ago I received the same call after completing a survey.  Told them that I couldn't come to bluewater to collect the prize at the times they stated and asked them to send me the details.  Surprise surprise they didn't.  However my parents have been with CLC for years and have had some amazing holidays out of them so it's not ALL bad...?

I got a call from CLC Resorts and Hotels saying that I had won a free holiday to Spain or the Algarve and to call 08009889904 to claim it. I googled them and the Money Saving Expert site forum page came up. It had lots of people saying that it is a scam.

Had call saying that I filled in a questionnaire and have been selected to win a luxury holiday for 4 people. Gave the number 08009889904 to call and quote a reference to claim prize.

Had same call quoting that I'd won a holiday and to call 0800 988 9904 . Didn't believe a word of it so not going to phone it

Anyone who thinks that this is a scam is very much mistaken. I took a call on 08009889904 and yes it is CLC resorts and hotels. As avid holiday makers who have holidayed in 5* luxury It appealed to us so we went along to a presentation held at Lakeside Business Village. We knew it was a timeshare holiday company from the outset, and have attended many before. We were treated with the utmost respect, given free tea, coffee even Latte's, and all we had to do was disscuss holiday experiences and likes and dislikes. YES it is a sales presentation. They are NOT pushy in any way at all, and in fact we told them NO its not for us. Not a problem we recieved a beautiful holiday in the Costa Del Sol for just £65 per person (inc booking fee and airpot tax) for upto 6 people. We arrived at The San Deigo Suites at Calafornia Beach Resort and to say the least we were blown away by the levels of cleanliness, hospitality and standards. First class resorts. We took a tour of the appartments and all of them are first class including Jucuzzi's the lot. IT was to be better than ANY 5* PACKAGE HOLIDAY PACKAGE we had taken, and so we decided to join. At just £11,995 for 59 years of luxury holidays (plus flights) it represents OUTSTANDING value. Yes flights are extra but id expect to pay them extra as the accomodation works out  at just £208.61 per annum ANYWHERE in the world ! LUXURY for less. Yes they ask you to join when you collect the free holiday, but just say no ! There is no catch just 2 hours of your time. THINK about it...... if you saw an advert for Timeshare on TV would you pick up the phone and call them? NO neither would I. Its a sales incentive with no strings attatched, and by giving holidays away, they get the right clientelle, ie us holiday makers! So id say GIVE them a break, its a numbers game for CLC, invite enough in and some will join (1 in 3) on the day we attended. We recommend attending to anyone. EEEk! I've just rung the number and am now wishing I hadn't!!! How much has it cost me?! I was too excited to find out more details about the holiday. I probably won't go to the appt now after reading all these comments regarding CLC Resorts and Hotels. I presume you have to sign up to the timeshare deal before receiving the 'free' holiday?

I received a call today saying I had won a holday for 2 with Club La Costa.  It seems I had filled out a survey some 19 months ago!!!!! What rubbish.  I was asked to call the freephone number 0800 988 9904 to receive my holiday details.  Having checked the company on google and also the 0800 number in question this is in fact a total scam, and I am glad that I have read up on this forum and taken no further action with the so called holiday!!!

Received a telephone conversation about a survey I had filled in at Olympia Horse Show in Dec 08 to win a trip to Lapland.  They advised me that I had won a holiday and needed to telephone 0800 988 9900 by tomorrow.

Checked what number they had called after finishing the conversation - no surprise the number had been withheld.

Goggled Company and found site about scam.

Are Olympia Aware that these people are using their facility to scam people.

just got the call from 01268555095 saying that I had completed a survey which I don't remember doing and that I had one a hol for 4 to spain or portugal and just had to ring in the next hour ..of course I'm not phoning!!!

Received a call this morning telling me that we had won a Holiday in Malaga the caller informed me that this was for taking part in a survey at Malaga Airport, which we did in November, the astonishing thing is that the survey was carried out as we were boarding the plane 'after passport control' it seems these parasites get everywhere.

Received a follow up call this evening asking why we hadn't rang the number for our free holiday, did a callback id 01268 557600.

Filled ina form in Malaga Airport departing back to Glasgow in December 08. Got a call today and took a simple step in saving time and effort - GOOGLE IT and yes I am here now and won't be wasting time nor effort in calling the mumber.  There are FREE LUNCHES but not in this case.  Many thanks ....
