Just received a call today from CLC Resorts & Hotels congratulating me on winning a holiday that I had apparently entered whilst at Olympia International Horse Show Dec last year by completeing a survey. I knew that I hadn't entered any such comp so traced the number I was told to call. This is scam is also linked to another 'freephone' number 0800 9889900 so please be cautious if asked to call either of these numbers

I completed a questionnaire at Mahon Airport. I received my 1st call last week telling me I had been awarded a holiday for 4 people, but I had to phone  08009889904 quoting ref 22BR. I didn't. I have since been phoned most days by the company and luckily for me I haven't been able to answer the call. Today I did. On asking the rep what the catch was he spluttered that it was a free holiday for up to 4 people worth up to £1500 and was in a choice of a couple of European countries and here in the UK too. All we had to do was look at the brochure and pick the holiday and take it within 18 months. I asked whether we were expected to go to a timeshare presentation as no-one gives away holidyas for free and he avoided answering. I advised him we would never buy into timeshare and he abruptly ended the call by saying "I'll put you down as not interested then!" Ya boo sucks to you!!!!

Thanks to all who have posted previously. I have just received a phone call from CLC Resorts congratulating me on my win after completing a survey last year. I was given a security code of 89BR (as I notice others have also been given and told to phone 08009889904. I was told that I only had a few minutes to do this as the company was waiting for my call. How stupid do they think I am? A simple Google search sent me to this site. 1471 told me that the number used to call me was 01268557600, what a surprise!

i have just recived a call from a lady saying congratualtions i have won a prize after filling out a questionaire i dont even rememebr filling out. she gave me a reference number and a free phone number to call, now im rather untrusting of random free holiday especially when i have no memory signing up to win one, so i googled the number and up came this page. and when i doubled checked and asked the name of hte company she simply said CLC so im guessin that costa company....i sharnt be ringing the number, even if i do miss out on £50 of argos vouchers of which they were offering...no thank you.

I too have received a call from Club La Costa offering a holiday where we have to attend a presentation. I have read loads of comments from people saying that this is a scam but none from anyone who has actually been through the process. I would like to hear from anyone who has actually been stung by this company. I dont min d sitting through a timeshare presentation if i get a free holiday at the end of it.
I have googled Club La Costa and yes there are lots of people warning that this is a scam but noone who has actually had any experience of being conned. Would love to hear from these peeps

we filled in a `survey` at Mahon airport I had asked if this was a timeshare scam and she said no it`s how you found using the airport facilities today,I was called today where an excited male told me that I had `won` a holiday it was supposed to be 2000 euros I said,then I got you must phone this number 08009889904 and quote code 15 Mahon,I had a similar experience last summer when I received a call from another excited male who told me that I had won a holiday to the Virgin Islands I told him he could have it and hung up!!I will not be ringing that number,thank you all for posting

My wife completed a survey last week in Malaga Airport and sure enough we have won a free holiday in Spain, etc for 4 people if we called 0800 988 9904 = I won't bother now.

got a call this evening advising free holiday for 4......jsut call 0800 9889904 ref 89D.......new it would be a scam - but thought i'd check the internet and found this site

Got a call this afternoon from this mob after filling out a survey in Malaga Airport - was asked to call 08009889900 quoting ref no. Did call the number out of curiosity - free holiday and flights although you have to pay a booking fee - airport tax and attend a 2 hour seminar. Seems like a con to me.

Just got as call from 01268557600, telling me I won a luxury break for 4 in Spain and £50 vouchers for Argos. Gave me 08009889904 and a reference number to claim the prize.

Riiiiight!

Sooo disappointed that it is a scam. Really would have liked a holiday. :(

I got the call from the same company today and knew what it was from the way they spoke.

I'm bored at work so called up when asked the question do you have a joint income over £25,000 - I said nope.  Big pause and was told they couldnt help me.

I was so disappointed as well lol, hopefully using this method is a sure fire way to get removed from their database!

Thank goodness for google. I also am being 'bothered' by a free holiday. Call is from 01268557600 asking me to call 0800 988 9904 with a 4 digit code. This was because an attractive lady at brands hatch persuaded me to enter into a free survey. Shoould have known better...
They're quite persistent - I keep saying I'm not sure and will think about and tehy ring again. Hence googling the number. Necxt tiem they call I;ll tell them where to go..

The no for 01268..... I got one too. Everyone seems to be corroborating the same non story and claiming it is a scam. When actually the only two people to go to the exhibitions got their free holidays. Yes you have to sit through a presentation but if you dont want to buy you dont (they will  be very persuasive). They work buy buying all the off-peak package holidays that other companies cant sell and advertising their wares. No con that is why their number has not been removed plus of course jenny bond knows in this age where everyone is litigious.

My wife a call this afternoon with regards to this scam, claiming we had filled a survey in in Tesco. A bit difficult as we don't shop at Tesco and I started getting suspicious as this is the second call in ten days! Thankfully she rang me first and I looked up the number on here. Clearly nothing has been done to stop this scam yet.

Had call claiming I had been awarded a 7 nights all expenses hol in europe or uk, all I had to do was phone 08009889904 to claim! Am no fool nothing is for free these days!!!!!!

Just got a call saying i won a holiday for 4  FREE.Being the suspicious person that I am, I googled. Glad i did. no such thing as FREE....Free air maybe?

I just got called by them and asked to phone them on 0800 9889904 to claim my "free" holiday in Spain or Portugal. I got stopped at the War & Peace Show 2009. Don't call, it's a scam.
