- EmilyI wish they would stop ringing me... I have told them twice that I am not even a Vodafone customer...
- ps247I've had 3 call in 3 days from this number now. I've answered the last 2. My golden rule with unknown numbers is if no one speaks in the first 2 seconds after i answer.....i hang up ! Guess what happened both times ???
- gordongot a call from these people today, strange as they know my name as they asked for me in person and had my house phone number even stranger i'm not with vodafone so why where they calling me definitely a scam or someone has signed with vodafone in my name giving them my details.
- MichaelCalled twice in 2 days, first time i answered and when the Asian person said they were Vodafone i told them i wasn't with Vodafone so P... Off, they replied they didn't understand so i then told them to F... Off continuously until they eventually hung up.
Second time my partner was upstairs and answered the phone, they said they were Vodafone and asked for me by name and as i was having a nap on the sofa she called downstairs to me to wake me up, i told her to hang up on them.
Just after midnight this morning i get a call from someone saying they want to shag my mother, i told them to f... off and hung up, they called back straight away so i answered again and was cursing them saying i'm getting the police involved and swearing at them at which point they started copying what i was saying so i stopped talking but didn't hang up as i'm hoping the caller can be traced.
The caller from Vodafone and the midnight caller were both asian, may be coincidence maybe not???- Caller: Vodafone
- LornaThis number called me yesterday and then again today, I have a habit of not answering numbers a don't know so just after they called I thought I'd google them. I'm so glad I did as like many of you I'm not even with vodafone although I used to be years ago so I'm guessing they have got a hold of some old account details and trying to scam people.
I'm so glad you guys had put on that this had happened to you so I know not to answer them
Cheers - AngelaI'm getting calls from this number and I'm not even with vodaphone!!!
- LauraIf its vodafone why are they phoning me, I'm on Orange??
- MichaelIt's not Vodafone but a company called LBM Direct Marketing Ltd that represents Vodafone and o2 and orange and carphone warehouse amongst others.
Could be that someone at LBM is taking a back-hand payment for enrolling new customers to Vodafone hence all the phonecalls to non-Vodafone users.

Good luck all - GuyThis isn't a scam, it's Vodaphone Promotions Dept, they called my landline asking about mobile contracts and were we happy with what we'd got. I'm on Orange and daughter on Voda contracts but wife on o2 PAYG which is playing up. At first they said we could have a sim pack of 600 mins and Unlimited text, I said my wife wanted a new phone so they asked what she liked. They offered a Nokia 5230, 300 anytime mins and unlimited texts and 4gb memory card for £10.50 a month from usual £15. They took no bank details but said they would add to existing Voda account, they also said they would give my wife a designer number. I agreed to it. I got a phone call off same rep 5 mins later saying an error had been made as it was 18 month contract and not 20 so for inconvenience they would send a 16gb memory card. They took my mobile number and said i would recieve texts of delivery details. true enough i recieved a text from 2008 confirming order. Then another about 5 mins later saying order was delayed and gave me a ref no and to call 08700700191,which is on the Vodaphone Website under contact us. I thought i'd been stung by a scam so rang it,true enough it was Voda, I spoke to a Customer Service rep explaining everything, he was confused by it all and ended up getting his manager involved after taking notes. I was on the phone for 30 mins and was eventually told that the details had been found and a Nokia 5230 was on order with 16gb card. I then got a text of 2008 about 2 hours later saying delivery will be next day and said i could track the order on DPD website and gave me a ref number. True enough there it was on website. The following morning i got a text from courier to say that delivery would be between 1540 and 1640. At 1543 it arrived. The phone, the 16gb memory card and a fantastic number. All i can say is if you are nearing the end of your mobile phone contract hear these guys out if this number calls you. I am very happy with it all and can gladly say this isn't a scam. It is Vodaphone Promotions Dept and they obviously want to increase their customer base. I don't work for them, I have a contract with orange and I work for the Railways.
