They keep calling me and if I try and answer they just put the phone down anyway, do not know who it is as they never leave a message.

Called me twice yesterday.  Said they were Sky and tried to get me to upgrade to Sky+HD, and that they would pay first 6 months extra costs.  Told them I wasn't interested.  Unfortunately, I gave them two things they asked for before I got suspicious.

Three missed calls today. Picked up fourth.  Caller claimed to be from Sky.  Said he had special offers but needed to verify who I was.  He said I had no PIN set up, so would I remove my Sky Card from box and read out number to him.  I declined.  I stated that as he had my phone number and Sky is registered to me, then he must know who he was talking to.  He wouldn't let me know what the 'special offers' were until I gave him my Sky card number.  I declined again - he then said I was agitated and raising my voice (I wasn't).....I told him that unless he was going to tell me about the special offers I was quite happy to leave it there, which we did.  I am already registered with TPS and have contacted Ofcom.  Am about to see if I can change my preferences on the Sky website.  We have had Sky for years, so it's likely I have an unchecked box regarding third parties.  The guy is a blooming nuisance!

They have been calling for a few days now and I finally answered today and he said he was from
Sky.  He knew my surname too,, I just hung up though.

Just got this number call me and hang up - annoying can't something be done about this sort of thing!

Damn them.  I did answer once and an indian woman was looking for my dad - i immediately said "Put this number on the do not call list."
(as is apparently our legal right, buying any of us at least 10 years of peace an quiet.)
She promptly hung up after i'd said that. But low and behold they're ringing again (roughly 1pm) but not long enough to pick up.
We're on TPS too...this kind of thing is so damn annoying; really taints having SKY (if they are indeed from sky, which by the sounds of it is not so!)  >:(

Great news! Think i've found a solution (results pending.)

After some digging, i found that Sky changed their agreement to allow them to pass on your details to marketing 3rd parties etc The nerve? You have to actually call their customer services on 08702 40 40 40, tell them who you are, and ask to be opted out. If they ask about the calls, tell them it may have been "Careline". Stress how unhappy you are, but be civil.

They will probably try to be sneaky and ask you who your current broadband/phone provider(s) are; try your best to be respectful and tell them you're not interested and to not send any more mail (sky magazines just get put straight in the recycling bin here) or any more stupid calls.

Problem solved?  :)       Hope this ended a lot of misery.

Had this number ring a few times today. We're on TPS and these marketing companies really annoy me. We never answer numbers we don't recognise and if they want us, they'll leave a message - they of course never do. "Who Calls Me" is excellent - really value this service.

This number called me today at 12:40 today.  I didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message.  We don't hardly answer our phone anymore unless the number's programmed in and it's someone we know.  It's very sad that it's reduced to this because you don't know what scam you could fall victim to :o9

this number isnt actually sky there a scam company if your with sky ring them too report it theyve been sending emails out about companys like this if its sky they ask for u by name and dont ask u any questions about address ect

Just had a call from this number for the 3rd time today. Saying they are from sky and have some great offers. When I asked what offers where available got told I needed to verify my details with them. They asked for my full name, so I said if they were from sky they would have this and the bloke got stroppy with me saying how does he know who I am. Well he was calling me!!
He is calling back in a hour, so am not going to answer.

They ring but if you do answer it there is no one there. Once someone spoke so I did the same to them and didn't speak it seems to annoy them.

Another silent call courteosy of Sky. I have asked them repeatedly not to call me, especially not at 9pm at night. Have complained via TPS service, suggest anyone else who receives these calls and is registered with them does the same.

Got a silent call from this number this afternoon so found this site.  Got another call and it was from a Sky TV sales call centre.  They call with offers and I actually took them up on a half price MUTV to be able to see the friendlies in the USA.

I have received a number of calls from this number.  I answer it can here that there is an open line but no one speaks.  Does anyone know who they are and why they persistantly call?

Had 3 calls today, two silent one answered.
Sky Careline. As per other posts they aced me my name and I refused to give it, I asked the Indian lady to tell me my name and she said she couldn't as their system was down! End of call.

I'm on TPS too. Don't like these calls though, so will report them.

I just ignore all my calls and let them run onto answer machine- They either hang up as it gets near to the "beep" or they just leave a message of silence-

With held my number on my old phone to call them, Careline from Sky- Hmmm- This verges on harrasment!

coming home to an answer phone message which is blank for the last week now......................really annoying as went ex directory to specifically get away from these kind of calls.

Yet again I have received a silent call from this number.  I am already registered with TPSonline.org.uk but they have obviously found a way round that.  I have now reported the number to OFCOM.  Although they will not respond to individual complaints if enough of us report them then hopefully something will come out of it.

I have just had a call from 08433 770119 a female claiming she was calling from sky and she even got all the "this call is being recorded for training purposes" all around the wrong way anyway before the penny dropped I confirmed my name that she gave me and then my address - when she started asking for password on my account and date of birth I told her no, surely she had that in front of her as she called me. To which she said she had it at which point I told her she was getting no more info of me and hung up. All very strange I have gone onto my sky account and ticked the boxes for opting out of both the marketing options and will just be polite when I hang up every time they call.
