just left a messsage of loads of talking in the background, sounding like a call centre or somehting

when I answer calls if there is a delay after I say Hello I hang up - usually indicates a call centre - most probably in India - or I let the answerphone take call and pick up receiver if I know the person leaving the message

This number called today - purporting to be from sky - to see if I qualified for any discounts - asked to confirm my address , then my password or mother maiden name - i refused to do this and told them that it was very bad practise - they then ended the call

It's me who is calling you all, sorry, but I just wanted to tell you that my wigwam is tattered, my jibjab is kwocked and and my uurrgh higgywiggy has done one to Bristol. Actually, all of that is a lie, but consequently of more relevance than these nasty, expendable waste of time phone calls from SKY. Scraping the barrel that lot aren't they eh? Imagine having to do that for a living. I'd rather suck the nicotine out of a tramps beard!

was a "victim" of a robbery, were an iPod and  family members handbag was stolen, with ofcourse... "SKY" letters, and many other things in. suddenly, today (the next day) im getting calls, (well one call so far.... ) answered, they said "moo" and hung up? i guess my voice didnt sound too gullible, what you should all do, who are experiencing this, is check if anything of yours hasnt been stolen, whether in the trash, or a theft. and dont touch the number with a barge pole, i rang up my service provider and had it blocked, and logged it with my police incident log. either way this is fraudulant.

I have had 15 calls from this number in the last two days! They don't seem to get the hint! It's obviously Sky selling on personal details, as i have only just signed up to Sky & never had these phone calls prior!!

I'm getting annoyed with it!

Here is what to do:

Login to your online Sky account, click on 'My Profile' & then on 'Marketing Preferences', this is where you can opt out of these annoying marketing/sales calls, tick the boxes appropriate to you, click save & you are done...simples!!!

If you still get annoying marketing calls from any company who claim to work on behalf of Sky then a quick email to Sky customer services stating that your marketing preferences are not being adhered to soon sorts it out & they will remove your details from their lists shared with other comapny's...again simples!!!

Remember, when we sign up to services such as Sky, BT etc. or even when we sign up for insurance, the company we sign up to have the right to pass our details to 'carefully selected third parties' unless we opt out, so people, we got to remember to always opt out...look for that little opt out box in the small print or search our online accounts for those marketing preferences, either way that opt out option is there somewhere.

ring BT COMPLAINTS ON 0800411422 and they will bar the number within 24 hours,unfortunatly this outfit use loads of similar numbers, its machine generated hence the silent calls.best thing too do really is never answer the phone if you dont recognise the number,if a company wishes too get in touch they will write too you....pure n simple ;:)
dont let these calls worry you...unfortunatly its a sign of the times im afraid...so just dont answer it we all know they are spam calls,its very annoying i know but hey :)

I started to receive calls from this number and it states automated meesage "this is a dlaier call and one of our agents tried to call you and will call back.

Yes this is from Sky, after 4 weeks of silent calls they answered, offering me the Sky HD package for Free for 6 months. I verbally blew my top, they could not get a word in for about 2 min.during which I told them to stuff there HD package, and any more silent calls and I will have the Sky box disconnected.

I got a call from these the other day and when i answered all i heard him say was mumble jumble which i didn't understand so i asked him who it was and he repeated it very quickly so i asked again and he did the same and the 3rd time i asked he just said we would like to ask you some security questions to see if you are eligible to recieve extra services, my reaction was "yeah right, goodbye" waste of my time!! If i want any flippin extras I will ring YOU!

This number keeps calling I belong to TPS so why does it keep calling surely this is against the Telcommunications Act as it is Harrassment and can be dealt with by the Police!!

They are at it again. Just received a call, this time from a woman calling herself Davina. Same questions as before. Then can I confirm my password before they can continue. Told her where to go and put the phone down.
