Finally spoke to some one. We have been getting 3 or 4 call a day for the last 3 months, all dropped.

A Scottish 'research' company representing 'Better Homes & Lifestyles' wanted to speak to the previous owner of our house.

I asked to be taken off the list ... lets see.

And another change of name. "Energy Audit Scotland" this time. There's clearly no way this is a legitimate or reputable company. Do not give them any time. I pity their staff.

This lot have clearly made no New Year resolutions to clean up their act.

Just got a call from the same number (I'm in Edinburgh) from a woman saying she was calling for the Scottish Research Bureau and would I mind answering a question. I didn't wait to hear what the question was. She assumed I had the same surname as my wife (and I don't) which is what normally puts me on alert for this type of call.

I have had several calls from this number. Only one answered but I declined to take the survey as I was suspicious about their business. Who are they?

Got a call from this number today, I'm in east lothian, they asked for a name I'd never heard of, 5 minutes later another call asking if I received the herald and post, I then started speaking Spanish to them, generally calling them rude things in Spanish, they then hung up hehe

08443580023  told me who they were, asked if I had a minute, I said, 'yes, but only 1 minute, I'm busy' and the ignorant witch hung up!
tried to ring bavk immidiately, no such number!!
Is anybody ably to do anything about these jobs worth???

i'm in eastlothian & i'm getting this number on my phone alot !! i have answered to them so why do they keep phoning ????

Well they haven't called since July when doing the alarms survey but today under the research company of Energy Audit Scotland carrying out a survey on behalf of the government to see if I was applicable for any grants, a polite young man asked about my insulation and heating etc. He then said someone would get back to me about giving me an energy report. Watch this space.!

Calls frequently especially at weekend. Am in Edinburgh. Do not answer phone as i believe i am charged if i am connected. Want to know who this is as i have already tried to put a block on nuisance calls.

Can't believe I found this site! Very interesting reading everybody's comments. I have had several calls from this number over the past 6 months or so. They keep ringing me up, sometimes 2/3 times a day and if the line doesn't go dead they ask for Mrs Jardine. I keep telling them that she has never lived here and they have the wrong number, but still I get the calls. The latest one was 20 minutes ago. I politely said she doesn't live here and could they please remove me from the list as I am fed up receiving calls for her. He just hung up half way through my sentence! How rude! I dialled 1471 and tried to call them back, but my Virgin phone line just told me there was a fault so I googled the number and found this site.

this number 08443580023 used to call several times last year always ignored it now they have started again still ignore it,they seem to have more names than the Scottish Census.

And again. They're back to Scottish Research Bureau. If anyone can find out what Jobcentre made them take the job, I'd be interested to follow it up.

Frequent calls ( up to 10 times a day) with no-one there when I answer.

i got called from this no at 9.45 am  25/01/11 confirmed my name. the the women called natalie then  hung up    scottish research  bureau        what is this company   ( ignorant or what)

I have now had numerous calls from this number saying they are the Scottish research something or other. todays was from 'Stuart'.

Call from Energy Audit Scotland, claiming to be working as part of Scottish Government Energy Initiative. Given information that this was a Private Independent Company that had no connection with the Scottish Government. Asked to speak to supervisor. A Debbie Smith spoke saying that this was a Call Centre in Glasgow but refused to say where. Another Scam ?

Somebody called this afternoon (17 February) saying he was from the Scottish Research Bureau and asking what my priority would be if I could have any of the following - new gas boiler, central heating system, fitted kitchen, fitted bathroom.  What purpose does this kind of 'research' serve?

No results on Google but hits on Money Saving Expert with people being asked about insulation etc.
Polite call, but clearly a scam. Admited to not being auditors, then ended the call.

Just got a call "Good evening Mrs. B, I'm calling from the Scottish Research Bureau, would you have a minute to answer one very quick question?"  I asked if she was marketing or selling anything whatever and she immediately put the phone down.   08443580023.  Rude.
