Sick of this number calling me,got urgent calls expected and these numpties keep ringing me would love to know who they are

I've just had one of the rudest people ever from this phone number 3 times in 10 minutes.  They rang to speak to my Mum (she's in town at the moment) and when told this, I was asked "When will she be back, we need to speak to her".  I said "In about an hour", so why the xxxx did the same person ring back twice in 10 minutes and get increasingly stroppy because my Mum hadn't returned?  Very rude and made it seem as if it was important - not the coldcall it is.  We are TPS registered but there seems to be a way round this.  If it is PPI (which I think has been stated above) they are allowed to ring because apparently "they are providing a service".  Still cold-calling in my eyes.  Wouldn't be so bad but the "gentleman" (in the loosest possible sense of the word) sounded like he was in a pub not a workplace and was extremely rude.  3 times in 10 minutes?  Ridiculous.

Calling at least twice a day but no one speaks

Fed up of calls from this number. They tell you your house ijsurance s due and asks abut how you pay. Just hang up. They ae after your bank details

This number called my mother inlaw last night "silent line" I replaced the receiver then lifted it again and dialled 1471 (I did not check to hear if there was a dialling tone) the line was still active from this mystery caller with a message saying an adviser would be online soon please wait, I tried clearing the line but it wouldnt go. After tapping the button up and down frantically the line cleared so I put the receiver down, almost imediately the phone rang again with the same message playing. After more frantic burtton pushing the line cleared again and what sounded like a BT message came on sayin your call will be connected in a few moments (or simular words) and sure enough there it was back again. This went on for sometime but eventually I got a dialling tone back and managed to retrieve there phone number and then call BT to report it. The worry is how was this able to happen and having read about option 1 in previos posting did I select it when trying to get there number will there be a charge coming?? will have to wait and see. Be WARNED check that you have cleared the line and have a dialling tone before pressing any buttons.

I switched to the TPS and thought that the calls had died down slightly. Now, a few months on, for the past few days Ive received multiple calls from differing numbers. Scam or just poor marketing, foreign or not, hiding their real numbers or not- all these callers must be related somehow-they must all be getting my number from the same database. I say this as they always tend to start up at roughly the same time, die down, then a few weeks later theyll be constant yet again.

On my missed calls, will now know not to answer if they ring again

got a call then just whent dead when tryd to redial back just sayes number buzzey  kept trying for 1 hour got the same masage continualy

Sounds  like they are hawking PPI claims, they keep pestering us. Subscibing to TPS cuts no ice with them so next time they ring they will get a blast from an ACME Thunderer whistle down the phone, let's see how they like that.

i got this telephone number phoning just as i was putting the kids to bed! it rang for two rings then played music and then said please hold we are transferring to an available agent this was all on the answer machine!

this guy called omar left a message on our answerphone lasting 10 minutes - very abusive language talking about sex and lesbians - should i report it to the police as well ?

I answered a call yesterday from this number which I got by dialing 1471 afterwards.  Upon answering it was silent for a few moments then a recorded message instructed me to hold on as an advisor would be available soon.  Realising it was a cold call I hung up but was angry to discover the line had not cleared when I tried to make a call a short time later.  It was some time before I was able to make a call.  What happens if you have an emergency and companies such as this are tying up your line?

Called registered with tps makes no diff just keep ringing. Pain in the backside

Just had a call from this number saying they are from 'Cover Plus' and noted that my home insurance is due for renewal (which it is not). That's as far as they got.
