We have a Panasonic cordless phone (don't know model) but it has a caller barring option on it, so now when I get one of these calls, I just view there number and barr it, because tps just doesn't work.

This caller has blocked our line - it keeps saying your call is very important to us - we haven't called them!! Also on TPS so have no idea how they get our number, also ex directory really cross!!

They keep calling every other day sometimes twice and then an automated voice just says 'Goodbye'.
I am fed up of interrupting what I am doing for this and sometimes I ignore it as I am busy with 2 kids and then it turns out I am missing an important call from elsewhere.  Why cant they stop this.

Answered my phone this evening, got silence, then immediately got a recorded message thanking me for my call and informing me that all operatives were busy and that i'd be transferred as soon as possible.  This went on for 20 minutes (with me picking up and putting down receiver in this time) when the line eventually cleared.

I don't know who called as the caller never identified themselves.

TPS only works with calls from the UK, they can't stop computer generated calls or calls from outside the UK.

I asked them about it recently.

Same here. Unknown caller, didn't identify, yet I'm also ex-directory & on TPS.  But at least I have a number and can block it now.

First call received from this lot.  They didn't get me; I was out, and they didn't leave a message.  Thanks for all the warnings.

Like most peolpe on this forum I am also registered with tps. but it seems that they do not bother with this.
However I had a call and gave them the full blast with the very loud whistle I have by my reciever.
Strange that they have not bothered to ring back.

Cover Plus Leeds LTD is an actual home insurance broker in Leeds (a registered company) these people are imitating them so do not take their calls....the brokers are based in Leeds look them up...Cover Plus 01274925195 is not their name or number...if you believe you are being harassed by people other than them contact them on 01132782244

I have recently taken out a policy with coverplus leeds had no issues with them, please keep me posted if you find out ne ting else about this company...thanking you loads..

me too jack...that's why i thought i should add to the post as these people are imitating a genuine business and are making them look bad... therefore, i believe that Cover Plus Leeds LTD should not be scrutinised/punished for the doings of these insolent beings.

This number called at 5.30pm this evening.  When I answered I heard an automated message saying my call was important to them and all operators are busy!  They called me, not me calling them.  This then went on to irritating music which blocked my phone line for 20 minutes.  We had similar from a different number earlier in the week, which blocked the phone line for 30 minutes!

Had a call from this number today. Steven from PPI Advice line. Looks like they have changed their number again to get us all going and wind us up for the day! Very rude person, spoke to me like I was something he trod on. And by the way Steven, my name isn't love, hunny or whatever.......I am old enough to be your granny, treat me with respect and I will do the same. Namaste.

Got a call today from 08446882753, person claiming his name was "David"and working for Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance. Tried telling me my house insurance was due for renewal (which it isn't) and could offer me a very good deal if I renewed through them.  Asked him where he was calling from and he said "Pudsey, a little town just outside of Leeds". His voice had a Yorkshire tint to his Asian accent. Told him to ****** off with his scam

getting 3 or 4 calls from this number a day, when i answer the phone i get music saying (in a very bad accent) that my call is important and will be answered soon!!! very very annoying... no idea what company this is or what the calls are about

Actually intense screaming can cause long lasting damage to the vocal chords and is therefore not an advisable way to deal with problem callers.

Yep...just got this call...first it was silent (with people talking in the background) then they started laughing then hung up...it's not the first call I've had like this.
