This 08446882753 called again today at 3.21pm with the same Geordie girl say that all our callers are busy followed by The Minute Waltz. The music stops and the same old message is trundled out. They called last week and this went on for 15-20 mins. I put the phone down and disconnected the phone but this just blocked the line and you cannot get the dialling tone back. I tried to called this number back again today but it's just busy.Does anyone know of any legal procedure we can take to stop these people doing this repetitive annoyance? By the way I have also received calls from the 01274663293 number.

TPS is becoming far less effective.  Too many callers are ignoring the TPS list (especially those calling from abroad) since they know how difficult it is for us to track them or for them to be prosecuted.  It's unfortunate but the TPS and the Information Commissioner are becoming powerless in the face of lobbying by the telesales industry and its clients.  It also doesn't help that BT is determined not to help.  Until there's some political will to change the commercial reality of the situation (wnd let's face it, the current administration is more unlikely than any previous ones to do that), we're pretty much shafted...

Just called about home insurance.  Hung up on me when I mentioned TPS.  No details registered for the number...

I too have had calls from this number, and they seem unable to take no for an answer. I am also on the TPS list but it doesn't seem to make any difference,perhaps they will get the message eventually!

This number cllaed me today 3/10/2011 at 18.33. I answered and it hang up. I put down the receiver and then I got  arecorded msg that sounded like I'd called THEM. Various options which I can't remember.
I could not clear my line so I unplugged my phone line and went for alie down as I am very unwell. Later on I decided to type the number into goole and up came this site.I was concerned that I may have been charged for the call. Phoned my service provider who says Iwill be charged at 10p per minute for 0844 calls, IF it actually was on my bill. Nice one.

This number called me tonight, when I answered no one was there. Just tinny music and an automated message "thanking me for my patience - an agent would be with me soon". This went on for an hour, totally blocking my line, until they hung up. If I could only get hold of them, they would get more than patience

had a call from this number they had me on hold for 35 minutes unable to cut them off and for any one to contact me,  when they rang off and i got the number and rang got beeping tone.

got a call at 4.20pm but as soon as I answer the line goes dead.Not the first time I have received a call from this number and doubt it will be the last until someone shuts them down.I'm on TPS and have complained several times but are still receiving unwanted calls.Can anyone explain the purpose or need for these calls when half the time they don't even speak?? IDIOTS!!

Had a call from someone on this number this evening purporting to be from Cover Plus and enquiring about my house insurance.  The caller rang off immediately I said it wasn't yet due.,  No 'Thank you for your time, sir' or 'Have a pleasant evenning'.  Rather disappointed at not having been able to tell the cove that I'd absolutely LOVE to hear from his company later in the year.  Now of course they can get knotted.

I am fed up with these unwanted calls - TPS what a waste of space - I have registered with them with no end of unwanted calls but to no avail!!  Does anyone no how we can stop them??

I am registered with TPS - if you read their site re silent calls they state they cannot/do not handle them
and recommend getting call barring from your telephone service supplier (greedy BT again) and that won't always work and definitely not for international calls.
Our personal space is being invaded by crooked companies and robotic technology I am totally
fed up with it. I will try to lodge it with BBC watchdog  but even doubt their ability to sort it.
You'd think with all the technology available that BT etc could sort this BUT oh NO!!! they won't.

This typical of the current state of the current political swamp.  

The issue is not in our hands or it seems the govnmnts - it is a disgrace - like so many other things
today. The world is being run by lunatics or mafia like entities.

they have logged the numbers but wouldn't/couldn't? say what would happen about them
they have lost their teeth if they ever had any
the whole thing is an unmitigated disaster

just think of old/disabled people who have difficulty getting to the phone and don't understand this crappy
behaviour bet they are not complaining(possibly more hassle for them than the calls themselves  - the extent of this automated random dialling is far greater than reported - just like so many bad things in these days of wonderful advanced technology!

there is a company CPR Global that offer a blocking service for silent calls
it costs £40 per annum and seems to be effective
I find this very annoying
BT are my supplier and receiving silent calls is as far as I'm concerned their business problem
and when BT advertise their services they should admit that they cannot handle these calls
and that you will have to add £3 plus a month to their normal charges!
£40 a year for me is not a small amount of money (pensioner)
if I was a busines sor well off I could hide this amount
yet again the less well off are being targetted

At least twice a day I get calls from this number.
Last time it locked up my home phone and keep me in a loop of music and Queuing messages!
They are a pest!!!

calling every five minutes when you call back a message comes on and you get charged.
