I owe BT nowt, yet this is the 4th bunch of debt collecting clowns to try and get the £60 I don't owe on behalf of their client. IGNORE all calls, letters and txts. If you get a call, don't give them any details or confirm your name just tell them to write to you and hang up. You wouldn't do it to a Nigerian fraudster, so why do it to these guys. PDCS, I look forward to collecting all your 6 or so threatagrams and look forward to the last "good news, we'll accept a discount" letter. As I told your "client", if you think I owe you money, take me to the small claims court... If PDCS want to take me to court, then buy the debt and bring it on! Oh what's wrong, legal fees would cost you far more than £60 and you can't add them to the claim, so it'll cost you far more than the alleged debt??!

And PDCS, I know only too well you can do f**k all to my credit file, I know what it takes to get a CCJ and I'm really not bothered if you want to send someone round me house, I know the difference between a baliff and a self employed idiot!!

This was a genuine call from PCDS, although I was very dubious initially.  I know I do not owe any money, however it transpires that the tenant in our rental property left an outstanding debt with NPower who put it in the hands of this collection company.
PDCS closed the case and I have been in touch directly with NPower to sort out the issue.

They called me asking for a man from whom I bought a house in 2001 (I have since moved). I have had trouble with debt collectors chasing this man before. What I do is get their address, write to them politely explaining there is no connection between me and him and the I send it recorded delivery. If I get called or written to again (which I have in most cases) I send another letter this time warning them that I will bill them for the time I am having to take dealing with the matter (it’s very important not to bill them for nuisance or the irritation – the courts like to keep the question of punishment to themselves) at a cost of £25 per letter. Generally they don’t any notice. So on the next occasion I send them a bill which you will not be surprised to hear they ignore. The phone calls/letters continue and I send another couple of bills. I then issue a county court summons. At this point they take notice. Sometimes they try and blag it out by saying they won’t' pay and they’ll see me in court, but they always pay up before then. So far my chap has earned me a little over £300 from debt collectors working for Egg, RBS and the Prudential. One thing though. This lot are Scottish and the small claims process is more complicated there than in the rest  the country, but my advice is if you have the time, give it a go.

Same here - we receive regular calls from 08448113701 (PBCS) leaving messages every time for a different name but with the same case number :-) Initially they had real people calling up but have now automated their systems and with computers leaving messages.Thank god for the invention of the answer machine and web sites like this one where you can exchange experiences.

They're actually not a scam, I went to Citizens Advice who contacted them on my behalf, turns out it is legit and it's not only utillity companies they collect debts for, they collect for BT, 3Mobile, Sky, Littlewoods, Next, T-Mobile and Orange to name a few ! They dont actually buy the debts either, they are employed by the creditors to collect on their behalf and are supplied (legitly) with all the information regarding your debt, from your name and address to your email address . I bit the bullet and contacted them and it turns out I did have a debt from a token meter for gas, I didn't know this could happen and contacted British Gas who referred me back to PDCS as they were collecting all debts fro British Gas, was pi**ed off as british gas never actually contacted me first before I got a final demand letter but it turns out they are a legit company.

You can owe money on a pre-payment meter, if you check the small print from the meter supplier it will explain that having a Pre Payment Meter is a deemed contract and you can incur whatthey call "standing charges" which in some cases, depending on your supplier, can be up to 50p per day, so, if for example you put 10.00 in your meter, you would get 6.00 gas, 3.50 to the company to pay anything you owe them to include tarrif charges and 50p for the standing charge. Then if the price of Gas/Electricity goes up, rather than cancel your supply, they do not take the standing charge which will build up over time, creating a debt, which will be passed to a debt collector, so that your supplier doesnot need to cut your service, which means they keep a customer and their value as they are keeping their share of the cusomters and increasing their own worth. So it's nothing like owing money on a pay as you go phone

Of course they will accept your offer of £10,- per 2 weeks....I take it you're on benefits?....not that I'm dissing that. Seriously,STOP paying them any more money and get yourself off to the CAB and see an advisor about getting a "Debt Relief Order" and you can have ALL your debts erased after 1 year. I did it as HSBC were trying to get almost £9000,- from me for credit card and current account....and the thing was that I was prepared to pay them what I had used, but they (HSBC bank) just got greedier and greedier....adding more interest and charges on top of other charges. They had added on almost £6000 in charges and interest. Seriously, at least look into this.....and indeed anyone else who's in a similar position.....these companies will accept a small amount as that way, they have you on their books all the time. They're scared stiff about people getting Debt Relief Orders as they know that fairness has been put in favour of the small guy...ie: us, the consumer

They phoned today - thankfully I was out - but left no message.

Definitely a strong smell of rats and/or fish there!  I have never been in debt (except twice a long time ago, to buy a car, or if I sometimes forget to pay a bill on time).  I have not had a credit card for years, and have never had a prepayment meter.

Even if they are theoretically legit their method of operation shows that they are dishonest.

I have been called eight times over the Christmas period, the most recent call being at 8am today.   Each time a voicemail message has been left for 'Mr Fisher' with an urgent request to ring back on 08448113701 quoting a particular case number.   I've not rung back and having seen the posts on this website, won't be doing so.

These people are pieces of s£$"....back last year we had a flat we were renting with a pay as you go meter.  It was never in debt and we even ensured when we left back in August that the meter had what money was on it when we moved in.  Alledgedly we owe E-ON £16 for a PRE PAID METER....how the F*!* you get in debt with a meter that you top up is beyond me...it would be like getting in debt with a pay as you go mobile phone (which is impossible)  I know it is only £16 but things are really tight at the moment and I refuse to pay something we do NOT OWE! We called E-ON and E-ON told us we owe them nothing and even said how does this company even think that it is possible to be in debt?! E-ON DID find the case (the main call centre couldnt but their special pre pay meter department could) and said thats fine we will void the debt and send you confirmation of this.  They have called again today (the no hopers), and said if we want them to believe that then we have to give a meter reading (knobheads its prepay there IS no meter as such: Plus we moved out in August) and that we also need to send our NEW tenancy agreement...oh what so you then know where I live now and try and rape me some more?! There is no way in hell I will be sending them my tenancy agreement for my new place....I WILL be sending them the confirmation letter from E-ON. They reckopn the debt cant be waived but surely if E-ON (who the money is owed to) honour this then what they say goes?! BIG SCAMMERS!!
