my policy is up for renewal and I'm going to ditch them for the RAC if they are responsible. - bobDitto all the messages, keep waking me up and if any connection with AA they always call after all the AA lines closed except breakdown line which i've abused in anger way too many times, not there fault but need somewhere to vent

- Chris15 calls in a couple of weeks from these idiots at First Assist, no messages left and hung up before I could answer (on the odd time I'd had enough and was ready to launch into them).
I did as above and called head office who transferred me to Plymouth. They asked for my name but I dodn't give it to them, just asked for my number to be taken off the list, which they said takes up to 24 hrs.
I had a good old moan at the poor woman - she said they would have been given details from my bank (unlikely) or AA / RAC - I'm with AA so suspect it is them. Not impressed.
She said they were "only" allowed to call up to 3 times in 24 hrs!!!- Caller: First Assist
- danI receive call from this number everyday few times a day and sometimes in evening, when i answer hung up. I am fed up with. any idea?
- Pedro the GreatThis mob called a few of times and eventually I picked up today. Line was so distorted it was difficult to make out what the guy was saying and he did slow down and speak a bit clearer when i asked. All I really heard was 'can you confirm your date of birth' I repeated what I thought I heard and he said yes so I just said no I cant. He then said sorry for your time and hung up.
If they keep this up I will be writing to their MD to complain.- Caller: 1st Assist Insurance Services

- fightthepowerI had been getting those calls for well over a month now, up to five times a day, mostly in the evenings (once just before 9pm) but also during the day and at the week-ends.
The calls were always too brief to be picked up, not that I had any intention of ever picking them up but that clearly indicates that it is done with the aid of an automated system.
I decided enough was enough and called their head office on 020 8652 1313 and asked to be put through to somebody that would take my number off their database. This first step was very easy, the woman on the phone is obviously getting a great amount of calls to this effect. However I was then passed on to somebody whose main aim was to collect my personal details. The woman I spoke to asked for my phone number so she could take it off her list, but then she insisted that she had to have my name as well otherwise she would not be able to do it. I told her I had NEVER contacted First Assist and that there was no way I was giving them my name, and I also mentioned the fact that not a single call I had received ended up with a message left to indicate the name of the company calling me which is classed as a silent call and is against the law. She persisted, I was firm and did not give in. She eventually had to resign herself to the fact that I was NOT going to give her my details other than the phone number they had been calling me on and agreed to take it of the calling list. She informed me that it would take up to 48 hours to take effect, but I can report that I have not had a single call since I called her yesterday morning.
So do call head office, be strong and firm, and do not give them any other details than the phone number they are calling you on, this is all they need and it is sufficient information for them to ensure you do not get any more calls.
Oh, and... the calls started shortly after I purchased a car breakdown policy from the AA, even though I specifically requested them NOT to include me in any marketing calls and not pass on my details to any third party, especially my phone number. Needless to say they can stuff their policy when it expires!!!- Caller: First Assist
- Dr NoWoke me up - i'm nightshift, they asked who I was. I told them I was a burglar I have broken into this house and can you hurry up as im trying to empty the place - line went dead, glad to see it's the AA that have shared my number, will be leaving them shortly now.

- G. JonesConstantly getting calls from 0845 0262531 where they put the phone down before or when I answer. When I call them, they are a company from Croydon - Firstassist Insurance Services. I have asked them to stop phoning me by e-mailing "enquiries@legalexpenses.co.uk". They have another switchboard 0845 number - 0845 0775547 which can be called between 9am & 5pm Mon to Fri.
I suggest everyone who is in the same position as myself e-mail them or call their switchboard (if you get free 0845 numbers) to complain direct to them.- Caller: First Assist Insurance Services Ltd
