they keep calling me, asking for me by name, i answer and say that its me and then they say "oh sorry,goodbye" and completely pretend that i didnt agree it was me they wanted to speak to, like they are being targetted for the amount of calls they make!  getting so annoyed! cant be bothered to wait on their phone line to complain though.

Yeah... it's a British Gas sales call... I used to be a customer until they kept causing me of end of problems.

I just refuse to answer the phone to this number now.  No problem.

Thie number IS British Gas, i swapped from BG to Npower and now i'm recieving calls on my mobile trying to convince me to swap back. The first few times they called i tried to tell them i was not interested but they dont seem to listen to you, just continue with their speil. Oh and btw, British Gas are not above sending people to your door to sell their products either. Bottom line, BG = Harrassment.

This number has phoned many times a day for several days.

Finally i answered it and yep its british gas trying to keep my custom.
Offered me 10% off standard rates for a year. Said edf will only save me 2%.

I would be willing to pay extra for a company that do not take money from my account when they feel like it. And seem unable to set a sensible figure for my direct debits. Either way too low or way too high, Now over £100 in credit only 3 months after they increased my direct debit because i was not paying enough.

Two calls today from 08450700827 which disconnects when answered.  I'm not calling back!

I have been getting one call a day from this number for the past 2 weeks.  As soon as I answer, they hang up.  This website was very useful as now I know it is British Gas who are harrassing me and I am not being stalked!

I have been receiving calls on my mobile from 0845 0700827 five times a day for the past week!  I've not answered as I don't answer calls I don't recognise and oddly enough, they've not left a message on my voice mail.  Reading the other comments it must be British Gas as I left them about a month ago!  Keep on chasing as I'm not coming back!  But it is annoying and if it continues I shall have to take it further.

COLD CALLS

Seem to be on some kind of ringback cycle, as I was called by this number every day for about a week a couple of months ago. Finally I answered and told them to remove me from the callback list, which they said they would do. Surprise, now they're calling me again. I've never even been a British Gas customer except a few weeks' unavoidable interim before i could change suppliers after moving to a new house. This certainly wouldn't make me inclined to switch to them even if I had a good reason to!
My advice is, don't ever give a phone number to a utility company. Say you don't have a phone number. If they need to contact you legitimately about your account, they write to you anyway.

14 calls in under 30 mins. Ridiculous. I'll let my answer machine do the talking.

Despite me telling them to f*ck off a few weeks ago the w*nkers at British Gas are calling me tet again on 08450700827.  This time I didn't pick up, next time I'm going on a full blown rant

I have had and keep getting the very same 0845 0700827 number ringing me all the time. Why can't these people take a hint? I have even changed my voicemail message to say "if you're calling from BG or wherever, don't bother ringing again unless it's urgent, and if it is urgent, leave your name and number and I will get back to you." And yet these people still ring and ring, and never leave a message! GO AWAY!!! I have a MUCH cheaper provider now and want nothing more to do with you!

keep getting calls from this number,i have booked a service with bg  but with their constant calling i think i will take my custom else where.

I've had the same experience as anon on 24th July.  I got quite shirty with a bloke a month or so again and told them to take me off their list, but it's started again.  They leave blank messages on my voice mail (which has now changed system and takes an age to connect and you HAVE to listen to the whole message before you can delete it...) which just gets right up my nose.  Grrrr.

After my 24th july comment about BG failing to remove me from their ringback list after saying they would, I've been called at least once every day since. Finally I answered yesterday and when they asked for me by name, I said they had the wrong number. Now I get another call today!!
It's harrasment, plain and simple. Not only has this made me absolutely determined never to go back to British Gas myself, I tell everyone I know not to either.
It would be interesting to know whether the person who complained to Ofcom got anywhere.

This number just rang me about 5 minutes ago, I answer nicely, and said 'Hello' and they hung up.... Not very perfessional, if they are not willing to say anything.

GRRR... I just hope they dont call again, cause I will have ago at them, no matter who they are!

They have started on my mobile now but I have yet to answer and respond! I am waiting for the call back.

They rang yesterday and I said 'sorry the person you want is on holiday and wont be back until.... (said date)'... 'ok then, bye' was my reply.  I was on the mobile talking to my relitive and I get a phone call on the house phone, I didnt answer (Im not going to answer calls while Im chatting to someone else), I dailed 1471 and the number was said, and I googled the number(as always with 0845 or whatever numbers), only to find out it was the number that called me yesterday..... rang me 2 days in a row now, and after me telling them the person they wish to speak to is away.....  

Its rather annoying... Its like they dont believe you.... And when they dont leave a message, it really hacks me off..... I hate them!

several calls, either blank message or hang up when I answer,recalled number and it is British Gas, they quote a number you can call to stop being called but automated system that also hangs up on you.  now phoning bg to complain.

Just called BG complaints dept and v.nice man said has put a stop on my marketing info, very apologetic will call in a week to see if it has worked!!
