This is definitely British Gas and they are a nuisance. I have been getting calls for nearly a year now and told them several times to get lost and to remove my number from their database. They promise to do so, apologise and do nothing.

I am heartily sick of them so now ignore any calls.

I have also had them calling me several times a day. I answered once and told them I wasnt interested and they still have been calling, I have ignored them lots of times, but answered again today and told them to remove me from their list and to never call me again.
It was British Gas and they were trying to get me to change suppliers to them. NO THANKS!! I told them in no uncertain terms that if and when I decide to change suppliers I will contact them - or whoever is cheapest! Gahhhhh they have been driving me mad!!

This number just called for a guy who moved out of the property in 2001 and regretably is now deseased. I congratulated them on such a wonderful service. Wonder if I'll get further calls from them?

Just had a missed call on my company mobile phone which is not linked to any residencial property or other utility bills, so seems like its either cold calling or part of a scam - avoid answering

just missed a call from these jokers. We are with EON and before that the previous owners were with Npower so must be cold calling.

If they ring back I am going to waste thier time. Will lead them on and say I am interested in all kinds of things for as long as I can and then tell them every time they ring me I will tie them up (on the phone!) for as long as possible.

I switched supplier from Scottish Gas on the 19th November and have had missed calls from this number since then.  I'm glad I found this site and that people have shared their stories about them trying to entice them back.

It's taken me four years to get shot of Scottish/British Gas and certainly won't be returning any of their calls...

I've been called by this number 3 times today.  I'm switching _to_ British Gas after EON put my bill up by £140/month.  I don't pick up calls from 0845, 0800, withheld etc numbers and my voicemail states that, but still most companies don't leave messages.  Oh well.

Just had this number again - asking for a Mr Fisk.  It is not this first time I have had a number calling and asking for that name.  So I am assuming that they do this as a cold calling exercise and then get you to sign up to it.

The best thing to do is not hang up on your end, let the auto lock out hang up for you.  This way they can't make another call until you clear the line.

08450 700827 - 3 calls this afternoon. No idea but others on here have suggested it could be British Gas.
These pest callers should be prosecuted.

Reduced ring times on my answering machine, so they will pay for a call anyway. Maybe they might get the MESSAGE!!!! (Instead of me). Worth a try?

definitely british gas. you can call 08450700828, go through a bit of a rigmarole giving your detazils, and BG will remove you from the telephone book. no more calls, takes up to 28 days to take effect apparently

Called eight times in one afternoon. I think that is a bit excessive.

3 missed calls today - am glad I found this site as it was bugging me!  I'll continue to ignore.

08450700827 (British Gas) are a pain they have phoned us very day for weeks even though we have got to the point we do not pick up the phone to anyone in fear of getting a sales man,and we are on telephone preference service we have now complained to them and we hope it now stops. Fingers are crossed.

i have had up to 8 calls aday from that number but no idea why the hell thay keep calling me.. had 4 calls in a row once

They started last week and each time haven't rung long enough for me to answer the call.  It only just dawned on me that maybe I should Google the number and I'm glad to see I'm not alone with this.  I am signed up to one of those places that is supposed to stop cold calling and it's worked pretty well, however, they don't seem to have stopped BG from getting through.

Talked to British Gas and they admitted this was their number.

Ive had so many calls from this number and like everyone else, when I called back, it states that I have been contacted by British Gas about a non-urgent matter and they will contact me again!!!!

I have just swapped my electricity and gas over to them so why keep calling to sell me products and services!!!! "YOUR ALREADY GETTING MY MONEY!!!!!!"

So frustrating.....

I've had one call every two days (onaverage) from this number for the last week and it's really getting on my nerves. Each time I answer I get a hang-up tone.
