Report a phone call from 08451113111 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- tonyregistered with TPS years ago still got unwanted calls after a while, mainly from Africa and America. so I invested in a trucall answer machine, a little expensive but worth every penny, a brilliant piece of kit, google it and see for yourself, it does what it says on the tin
- JimbobHad yet another call from this number, trying to sell me home insulation. They had the cheek to pretend that they hadn't called me before, saying that their "system" proved this was the first call. So they're dishonest as well as a pest.
- Caller: Nationwide
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JimbobFound their freephone number, so I called to make a formal complaint about their cold calling.
Their website: http://www.nesuk.com/
Phone: 0800 633 5769- Caller: Nationwide Energy Services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- sheila smith replies to AngieThe TPS don't seem to make any difference. Even when you contact them, they rarely come back to you and it doesn't stop the calls. Just wastes taxpayers' money!
- mister GI picked up once out of curiosity with this number. I hung up on them quickly too. Now, as I have caller display, I just don't pick up to 0845 numbers.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- FrankieBeee replies to TFaccording to the tps website they write re the question of whether you need to renew your subscription "No, the service is intended for live telephone numbers. As such, provided your telephone number remains active it will remain registered with this free service."
- JM| 1 replyHave been calling my house everyday - I've stopped answering! The one time I did, he asked for a Mrs McDaid, I told them no Mrs McDaid lived there and that they had the wrong number, but he carried on telling me about home insulation anyway. When I told him I didn't have time to speak to him, he ignored what I said and started to ask me questions, to which I hung up. According to TPS, my number is already registered! Pests!
- Caller: Unsure
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Pretty Kitty replies to JMThis company has been calling me for months and I finally found out today who they are. I kept getting calls from people who sounded asian or pakistan and they would ask for Mrs Groom, the number was always unavailable so I couldn't trace it.
I have asked them so many times to stop calling me but they wont. I always tried to question them to find out who they are but they just put the phone down on me.
Today I got another call from someone who sounded welsh, again asking for Mrs Groom, this time the number was showing. When I asked him what he wanted he told me the address (which is not mine) but is in my town and said that house is eligible for a grant.
I politely asked him to stop calling me as I'm not Mrs Groom and as my house is only 3 years old I'm not in need of any insulation.
The cheeky wotsit started asking me questions about my property, I politely told him he's flogging a dead horse. No doubt they will call again. My number is ex directory so I am careful who I give it to but now I have caller display I wont answer to their number again. So annoying!!! - sid replies to Lorriejust had them ring me but no message left..who are they.??
- PennyThese people have rung more than once despite my being TPS registered. They asked whether I received my grant for loft insulation. The second time the woman was quite aggressive when I said I had just insulated my loft. Horrible.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- AnonI checked the website for Nationwide Energy Services. They have vacancies for
"Energy surveyors - Self-employed (Solar and /or insulation), based nationwide.
Energy canvassers - Self-employed (Solar and /or insulation), based nationwide."
In other words they have hired freelancers to sit at home and ring a list of numbers and get paid commission on the number of appointments / product sales they get. The poor s*ds making these calls must be desperate. All the same that does not excuse them making illegal calls.
Also it says something about the integrity of the company that they push the burden of cold calling onto 'self-employed' people so they can wash their hands of illegal cowboy practices like cold calling TPS registered numbers.
I'd be surprised if these 'self-employed' people had any other business, This is just employing people without (a) paying their national insurance costs and tax and (b) pushing the risks for behaving illegally onto individuals who can be dumped if they get caught out.
This scam by unscrupulous employers should be illegal. I am worried that the economic turn down means we will have more of this sort of thing from now on as people get desperate to do any job and companies take any short cut to drum up trade.
What a shame. - GeroI found that Nationwide Energy Services work with a charity called NEA (http://www.nesuk.com/about-us.aspx). So I found the trustees of the charity (http://www.nea.org.uk/trustees/) and wrote them an email (trustees@nea.org.uk):
"Dear Trustees
I was called by 08451113111. I am registered with the Telephone Preference Service and should never receive marketing calls. I checked the number online and found this website: https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/08451113111/17 Many people are complaining about these calls. I followed the links and found this company: Nationwide Energy Services, based in Swansea. It claims to be working with you: http://www.nesuk.com/about-us.aspx I have been unable to contact the company or get them to explain their policy of illegally cold calling people or to get them to stop. I am asking you as trustees of a charity in business with this company to ask your partners to respect UK law and stop harassing people. I am sure your charity means well, but there is no excuse for breaking the law. Please clean up your act or you may find you as trustees of this charity together with your commercial partners face legal action.
Thank you (and good luck with your legal charity work).
Yours"
If everyone who gets a nuisance call from this number sends an email to the trustees and complains to NEA I think the problem will stop. In fact I expect it to stop so quickly it will take your breath away. We do not have to be passive victims. There is always a way to take legal action against cowboy companies. Fortunately.
I think we need to show cowboy companies that unethical business is unacceptable in the UK.
People Power. Stand Up for the 99%. Yeah! - GeroThe Dept of Energy and Climate Change supplies the grants that funds businesses like Nationwide Energy Services. If you want to complain about cold calling from this company send an email to DECC via
correspondence@decc.gsi.gov.uk and ask them why they finance a company that operates illegally. Should public money fund illegal activities? What sort of safeguards are there for seeing tax-payers money is spent wisely and accountably? Aren't there any ethical businesses out there that could do the work? Is there some reason why the DECC prefers to work with cowboy companies?
One way or another, someone will have to take responsibility for this.
Let's time how long it takes. - welshman replies to Lorriewe have caller display on all phones , and any number that we don't know we don't answer
- starfishHad a call today but I screen all my calls and never answer unless know number. I was curios as 1471 takes you directly to hold music on the line. Thanks to this website I will be avoiding an screening. Good work and don't take that call :)
- PCThis number called tonight and last night. I never answer numbers I don't recognize, because if it is important the caller can use the answerphone. No message was left either time. I am TPS registered
- Caller: 08451 113111
- MasterWongHow about playing along, and asking all the "right" questions, and spending some time on the phone with the caller.
Continue doing this each time that they call, up to the point where they are about to sign you up, and THEN indicate that they have been a good sport, and you are unable to continue, because you have registered with the TPS.
For extra fun, add random delays to your answers, place the call on hold occasionally, etc.
The enemy of these scam artists is the time "wasted" that could have been spent harassing the next poor person on the TPS.
How about that? - AndyThese prats have been calling me for nigh on every day for nearly the last 3 weeks and this along with the withheld, and international calls is starting to get quite tiresome. I have answered several times and typically there is no one there. I wouldnt bother with TPS, complete waste of time, does nothing except take you 5 minutes to fill it in, pretty sure your details just get binned because these people take no notice whatsoever. I feel very powerless to do anything except get my land line removed!!!
- Caller: ??
- KpnutsI'm getting calls several times a day which I don't answer and this has been going on for weeks. (I have caller display on my phone). I find it unnerving that perhaps someone is using my number as an attempt at some sort of scam or con. I'm exdirectory and TPS registered. How do they get my no?
This should be illegal.- Caller: Unknown
- Pat MayReceived an unsolicited call from 08451113111. Did not leave message but believed to be about insulation. We are on the preference list so should not have received this call.
