Had a call today and foolishly arranged a visit on Wednesday, realised my mistake and found an alternative number to ring back and cancel appt. Hope they don't turn up, if they do  the door will be locked.

I wonder how effective a campaign of making appointments with these firms simply to waste their time would be?

Would be a chance to express one's opinion face to face with one of their representatives.

Why can nobpdy do anything about these people?   They've called before and been told we're not interested, but we're still getting calls - we just vet everything with the answerphone.  Registering with TPS is useless, we get just as many calls as we ever did.

Just received unsolicited call. I'm TPS registered.  I advised them that I would make an official complaint to TPS.  Looking at the volume of others who have done the same, I wonder if this will make an iota of difference!!!

I received a call to-day asking for Mrs..... when I asked who they were they mutted something
that could not be understood and when I asked what they wanted asked if I had had my
loft insulated and if I was aware of government grants.   At this point I said no thank you and
put the phone down.

I have registered not to receive unsolicited calls and the they would not have been able to
to obtain my number from normal sources.

Just rang, I answered and they just put the phone down.  Presently it seems nobody is able to stop these calls.  Something needs to be done!

Rang NES back on 0800 633 5769 twice, trying to waste as much of their time as possible on their freephone number. Second operator offered to remove my number from their system... We'll see if that has any effect.

BT privacy at home is crap when I complained to bt nuissance desk they told me to change my number for £25 the only help he got
what about my privacy at home features in my plan he said unfortunately it can't stop people or company to call you.
I guess privacy at home which is desinged to stop nuissance call is utter useless.

Had a call from this company stating that they were calling on behalf of the government
offering free loft insulation for the over 70's.
Who are they.

ANOTHER marketing call on a TPS registered line, there is no point in the TPS, might as well call themselves the Press Complaints Commission!

simples... if you have reported it to tps and get another report it to ico as they are the real enforcers!

lol man if you do that the peerson behind the phone will get pissed and mark you down as answer phone so your call goes through the system again.... just ask them to take you off the system politely is your best bet dude

He said he was calling about a grant, everytime I asked why r u calling me, he gave same reply, we r calling about a grant, says nothing else.

I am TPS registered and have just been woken up after a really short night's sleeep by someone who rang off before I could pick up the phone.......... from beside the bed!

Now have to face the day on three hours sleep.

Had a silent call from this number today, despite being TPS registered for years.

The caller identified his company as "Nationwide Energy Services" and, after finding their website after the incorrect information he gave me, I emailed the following:-
My mother passed away a few years ago and my father died just recently so I was extremely upset to receive a call from one of your staff asking for either of them today.

My parents number is ex-directory, they were not on the electoral roll and the number is registered with the TPS to not receive unwanted telemarketing calls and has been so for a number of years. When challenged, your representative gave me a different number to that produced by my dialling 1471 after the call, an incorrect website address for you and an, albeit partial, incorrect address.

I have little doubt that not only do you condone this behaviour, irrespective of the upset you can cause, but probably activelyt encourage it which is why I will take the time to do everything I can to report you to whatever authorities exist to regulate businesses like yours.

Do NOT call me again

Goodness knows if it will work but there really should be some sort of legislation that stops these people......

I'm being rather nasty. though I do not need the loft insulating and have solid 18" walls, I've arranged for one of their surveyors to visit.

If they are going to waste my time, i'm going to waste theirs!

Keep getting calls from this number even though I tell them that I am not interested and I am registered with the TPS

Number called but hung up when I answered. I'm registered with TPS but many telemarketing companies are ignoring it.
