Had a call from this number about half three today, I didn't pick up, message left was recorded, the first bit was missing (where I presume they tell you who they are?!) but it goes on to say 'do not be alarmed, we will call you again'.

Bugger off.

Like others here I am TPS registered, not that it seems to make the slightest bit of difference.  If this is an Anglian Water company then I am really disgusted with them for allowing customers to be harassed in this way.

Received call, recorded message saying "Sorry unable to contact you -- for further info please call 0845 146 9372" In other words I have to pay for a phone call not them!!!!

i just had one of these (Saturday 3pm)

i hung up before any message was played as all i heard was silence.

reading thru all these previous posts it sounds like that if you register to block calls, you actually end up giving your number out to theses spammers.

called me 6 times in one hour, asked to speak to who ever was the manager- so they put me through to him. Asked for him to remove my number, but in order to do so they required my

you can complain to ofcom online as i have since ive had another call from these plonkers since my last post. they only investigate if they get lots of complaints.

Received a call from this number at 10:52 this morning.When I answered the line went dead.How annoying.

It's still going on ... Left us a recorded message asking us "not to be alarmed" which ends up alarming you. Don't trust it with a barge pole. Thanks for the other comments, very helpful.

Called while I was unable to answer - am glad I didn't. They have called previously trying to sell me insurance that I really don't want.

I have had letters recently from Homeserve going on about pipes etc.

So if it is them they are now trying to call me.

The answering machine didn't record a message, neither was it in the call log which was odd.

Dialled 1471 and was told it was 0845 1469372

I had a recorded message from this number on Monday 30th March at around 2.00 PM which sounded as if it had recorded only the last part of a sentence and then went on to say something along the lines of *Please do not be alarmed by this message; UK regulations require us to inform you of this via a recorded message"  It went on to apologize for any inconvenience caused, and said that if I had any queries I was welcome to phone the number.  I assume that this is a money making scam, and that the strange partial sentence was deliberate.  Many people would genuinely be alarmed and phone the number to find out what it is all about. I also regularly get calls where nobody answers when I pick up the phone - presumably people will be tempted to phone the number back in case it is important.

Have had 5 phonecalls where the line just goes dead when answered.

Just called 19:30 pm. Baby in bed.. grrr
As soon as no-one answered I'd hung up in less than 2 secs !!

I hope they don't! This makes the company involved seem dodgy, so can't be doing them much good. I'm not on the CPR or TPS, and I'm ex-directory and only use thin number for my broadband, so which good-for-nothing corporation sold them my number? I certainly will be giving them an earbashing if they do catch me in, and I sure as hell won't buy anything from 'homeserve'. Damn telemarketers.

Called by this number several times.

Called BT Nuisance people. They called it, spoke to a Customer Service rep who told them it is Homeserve. They told her they would remove my number from their databases.

Has phoned over and over again today but I just let it ring. I hope it is costing them money.
If they want to contact me what's the problem with Snail Mail. They are obviously trying to sell me something that I do not require.
If i want to buy something I go and get it all the cold calling in the world will not have any effect on me, my money stays in the bank.

Tired of these pratts calling, they never sya who they are or why they are calling! They repeatedly telephone asking for Miss/Mrs Snowden despite telling them over and over that no one by that name lives here. PRATTS!

Received 2 calls today, one on the morning and one in the evening. On both occasions there was no response.
Who are they?
