i am sick of these calls ,Why wont bt stop them money thats why .

I have reported to Ofcom as a silent call.  I am scared of getting a large bill if I do as asked.  Just put the phone down.

Received a call from these muppets last week, hung up. Then received a further call the following day so pressed 9 to unsubscribe (even though I have no recollection of subscribing in the first place. Received 3rd call today so pressed 5 spoke to a girl called amy asked a few details and told her registered with TPS will be reporting easpecially as they ignored unsubsribe option last week, she swore and hung up! Reported to TPS.

Hi, I have had calls from this number everyday this week, I have just ignored it as the number comes up on my caller display

Mint Insurance - obviously a scam of some sort.  Press 5 for fast track refund etc.

so sick of this call and others of the same type. had this one today at 12.15 i just ignored it. WHY the hell are these calls not stopped especially when you UNsubscribe and report them, it seems totally pointless as at the end of the day we are ignored and these companies carry on aggravating,upsetting and conning folk. It is unforgiveable.

madness that BTs hands are held with these out of UK numbers.

something has to be done.I demanded they stopped calling some 3 weeks ago and girl laughed at me and said that was unlikely,today a girl swore at me.

Got a call from this number.  Did NOT press 5, nor 9 to "unsubscribe".

Another call from this bunch of thieves - well they can't be anything else as they say "processing" claim that does not exist then wanting you to push 5 or 9! Also as someone has already commented, they do not even give the company name. So other than a scam what else can this be??

I too keep getting these annoying messages. I don't bother to answer them, but. as soon as you delete them they appear again. Who are they? and what are they doing? and more importantly why haven't they been prosecuted and closed down?
These annoying scum must be eradicated !!

Just got a call from this number. Complete silence when I answered.

Partial ansaphone message asking me to press certain digits to fast track myrefund? etc. Sounded suspicious so checked this website, glad I did, Just hope the calls don't continue.Will refer to TPS.

Talks about Payment protection but leaves garbled message asking you to 'phone back.

I now take a note of all suspect numbers which show up on 1471 and check them out on this website.

Suggest you all do the same, and perhaps in due course the unsolicited callers will get the message that they are being monitored and will cease to annoy us all!

Just received a phone call from this number, asking me to press five to reclaim my refund. What a load of rubbish. Please beware, no authentic company would do business this way.

Had a call from 08452863822 no-one said anything when I answered so I hung up after a few seconds and checked out on this website.  Having read the comments here I have call barred this number so thank you all for contributing to this service, it is very useful!

Got this yesterday, same as everyone , the tail end of a recorded message about pressing 5 or 9.

I tried the TPS links above, but the TPS has no remit to report scam calls:
"The remit of the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) lies strictly within the boundaries of live unsolicited direct marketing calls. Scam calls or calls of a fraudulent nature are outside the remit of TPS."

The fact that the message was recorded means the TPS can't do anything about it.

To anyone getting calls from these 0845 numbers.  I got one yesterday and after getting 2-3 of these sorts of calls each day for months decided to do something about it.

1 I did a search on 'sayno to 0870..'  no info so
2 did a search on google - found reference via The Scream  I signed up and found out who owns the number. It is a company called DXI Easycall.  I got their email address from their website.
3 checked my number was still registered on TPS (Telephone Preference Service) be careful to sign up for the right service - there are services which charge you and it is free!!  From there i decided to make a complaint and got that email address.
4 I then emailed the complaints as below:

Dear Sir - I received a nuisance call at approx 11.30am today . This was an unsolicited marketing call that was a recorded message. All the message said was ' Please press 5 to get my refund '. I realised this was a scam call and disconnected. The number calling me was 08452863822. This is not the first call of its kind I have received.  My home number is registered with TPS.  It was TPS that gave me your contact information.

I checked the number through 'say no to 0870..' no company comes up but on further google search I found this link.

The various comments on the Scream suggest that this sort of call is tolerated by the government, telephone companies because of the extra revenues it brings to you all.  This is unacceptable behavior and I expect this email to be registered as a strong complaint against this company :
DXI Easycall, its customers and its practices.

I am copying this information to Which and the Easycall email contact (though I am afraid this will just add information that they will use to make more call s to me!) as per their web site.  

I look forward to any comments.

They tried to blame the customer but the number is registered to them and they have to take responisibility. Finally they told me late last night that my number will be taken off their lists. That has to happen in 24 hours.

We will see whether this does ( I just got another call from same number) anything to stop some of these nuisance calls - if not i will email again to the govt complaints and keep on complaining.   It didnt take me long to do all this but I do have the time.

I strongly advise everyone getting these calls and if you can find who owns the number then COMPLAIN through official channels.  

By all means use my text above - the more people complaining to the govt the more likely anything will get done to curb this activilty.
