If you go to mpsonline this will take you to the TPS website and there is a section for complaints.

The reason why TPS cant do anything about this particular number is that it is a prerecorded message. Surprisingly, TPS does NOT cover prerecorded messages OR silent calls. This is from the website when you try to report this number :

Organisations that use recorded phone message to try and sell or promote their products or services have to comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. These say that marketers who leave recorded phone messages must obtain prior consent from the subscriber before they can make such a call.

Where a subscriber receives a recorded phone message they haven't agreed to there may have been a breach of the regulations. If you are receiving recorded messages and have not given prior permission and can identify the organisation leaving the message, you can complain directly to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), who are the body responsible for enforcing the above regulation. PPI message automated, hung up

12 calls from yesterday on my phones memory,  10 were cold calls or unidentified,  just checked thru the numbers on here!!!

I am thinking of disconnecting my house phone as I dont need it ringing a dozen times a day for all these spam calls.

7 of them were about PPI's xxx

Just received a call from this  no. Rang the 0800 number given on13 March 2012 from John and he said it is not his company making the call although he has stated it is them on the email on this board.
Very odd????

Pressed 5, asked guy who the company was - PPI Helpline he said, asked to speak to his supervisor and he said it was an automated system, got apologetic and offered to remove my number from the database. I shan't hold mt breath.

Have has 6 calls from this number today.  No one speaks, just a silent call.

Rings me with a recorded message nearly every day.  Three times today.  I am registered with TPS but they won't accept a complaint if it is a recorded message.

Anyone got a straight answer out of these guys who they are, They refused to tell me their registered company address when I asked them.

Called me just now, silent, hung up on me after a few seconds.

They keep calling but don't leave a message, even if I answer the phone, all I get is silence and then they hang up

ALWAYS GET THESE CALLS, SILENCE THEN HANG UP!!!!

It was the WORST thing the government did when they made the banks payback the PPI !!!!, the only outcome was a load of selfish companys out to scam people, nuisance calls, and a whole load of rubbish TV adds about it all!!!

I hope the  companys rot in hell for calling me up.

Curious to know how you block numbers.
I have caller display (best £1 per month EVER!) and I save these scam numbers as "Don't Answer" - soon  will have no room left for real people!

Caller hung up on me. Sounded like a sales call very unwanted

Got a couple of calls one of which I answered and it was an automated message so I hung up. As I have caller display I won't be answering again. I was never daft enough to buy PPi insurance and won't be daft enough to answer their calls again. Time something was done about these calls. We are registered with telephone preference which I'm beginning to feel is like owning a guard dog with no teeth!

This number called again at 12.00 today. There was nobody on the other end of the line and then the line went dead after 5 seconds or so.

Just had a call from this number. When I answered it cut off to a continuous tone.

Have invested in the best zapping phone call system ever - True Call - I use to get loads of phone calls from this Automated PPI scam and call centers staff calling with accents you can't understand - always with English christian names - now no more :) peace at last .

I was stunned by how many Indian people have the names like John, Samantha or Rosemary [LOL] - Well at least when these comedians phone you up and tell you that's their name
