I have also received a call from 08452863822 this afternoon telling me to press 5 to speak to an operator or 9 to unsubscribe. I pressed neither! I've been at home on holiday for the past 2 weeks and can't believe how many silent/spam calls I get every day. I'm subscribed to TPS but this doesn't seem to stop them despite me telling them to remove my number from their systems.

TPS recommend the following for unsolicited recorded messages
Organisations that use recorded phone message to try and sell or promote their products or services have to comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. These say that marketers who leave recorded phone messages must obtain prior consent from the subscriber before they can make such a call.
Where a subscriber receives a recorded phone message they haven't agreed to there may have been a breach of the regulations. If you are receiving recorded messages and have not given prior permission and can identify the organisation leaving the message, you can complain directly to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), who are the body responsible for enforcing the above regulation. After having had many a call re PPI and numbers being withheld/number not available this one provided me with a numberwhich is 08452863822.

Rang the number back and surpris, surprise the number is not recognised.

PPI scammers avoid like the plague!

0845, in the UK, is a "local rate" number - no matter where you are in the UK you pay a local rate to call it, from a landline.  May be more expensive from a mobile.

Thye can be contacted on the 0845 number (which charges at local rates) so I did some calling to find out. It took about 5 attempts to get someone who wouldn't just hang up on me but eventually I got the above information. Now we know who they are they can be reported to Offcom.

So annoying. Some times it's a person but mainly just a silent call (thought they were made illegal years ago).

They don't seem to have the facility to permanently remove tel numbers from their database.

Waste of their time and mine - surely they must be scraping the barrel with PPI refunds now..if they can find anyone that took it in the first place?

best advice given before on these pages was to dial 1477 after these calls and they are logged as malicious

Does anyone know who these calls are from ?

These cretins keep pestering my 89 year old mother who has not been well.  She is now being pestered every day by all sorts of telemarketing calls in spite of being registered with TPS.  At her age, she really doesn't need this.

I am constantly receiving calls at work from this number - it is totally interfering with my working day and extremely annoying - how can we stop it??????????

As they got ignorant, i decided to go ahead,

The director of the company that runs the spam company is below, but before you read please acknowledge this. he directs 'maxima holdings' in turn they own/run 'easycallnow' who in turn are providing these PPI call centers with the facility and technology  to spam call us, detect answering machines and get provided with a nice big juicy list of all our telephone numbers to ring.

THESE buggers call me at least twice a day . if i get to the phone before it goes to the ans mec it often cuts off tryed pressing 9 to be taken off the list . it dont work. its a pain am currently getting spam calls of 3 different companys 6x calls a day on the landline it sucks
