- Mell replies to kamilaIm not even with Lloyds so why are they calling me...?
- JI've just been called for the third time by this number with an automated message for my husband stating it was from Lloyds TSB's fraud department (or something similar.)
I called my husband who, to be safe, popped into a branch of Lloyds TSB he was passing and they said it sounded like a scam and not to press anything. (Not like I would have done as it was pinging my scam sense like mad.)
It would be so easy for the scammers to post on here more than once under different names to claim that it's a legitimate number to bring a false sense of security. My advice would be to directly call your branch or pop in for yourself. Do not press any numbers and do not call the number back.
And in the event that it is a legitimate call then Lloyds TSB should be ashamed of themselves for enacting a service that screams SCAM to all us (rightly) cynical people out there.- Caller: "lloyds TSB"
- mattHi all
Can confirm this is definitely Lloyds. I called their general number and although they didn't officially recognise the number, the lady I spoke to had a similar call herself a few weeks earlier, which was genuine. She explained they would only ask for my birth year (pick the right option) and then enter birth day and month. That's the only details they ask for, and then it reads out a transaction which has triggered their fraud detection service.
Very glad I called back, someone had run up about £900 on my card in the past hour. They cancelled my card and authorised refunds for the pending transactions. They are sending me an itemised transaction list which I need to sign and send back saying that they weren't mine.
If you don't trust the number, then at least be sure to check your account over the following days .. !
Good luck.

- MarkThey call me 4-5 times a day. It's a scam call. Don't pick up. If you are not sure, contact Lloyds and they will confirm it's not from them.
They are trying to call everyone to scam people. Even you don't have bank account with Lloyds, they will still keep calling you. What an idiot.- Caller: scammer
- JVHad 3 calls from this number in 24hr period and took no action. Believed it to be a scam. However, to be on the safe side I called in at my local Lloyds branch and reported the calls. They confirmed that it was genuine and that someone had tried to use my card number for a £180.99 purchase online. Very pleased that I followed this up! 12 Feb 2013

I got through and they said that just 20 min ago a transaction with my details occurred online. I just confirmed it wasn't me. They blocked the transaction and said they will monitor my account. - JPThis number called me 5 times while I was at work. Rang it when I got home and it was LLoyds TSB. Someone had tried to use my card twice during the day. They have blocked the transactions and cancelled my card to stop them trying again. Very helpful and polite advisor. Glad I followed this up.
