this is a SCAM, txt me, & phoned me, when i called them back i went through to a answer machine that asked for my phone number to make sure it was the right one, when i typed in my number i was put through to someone who claimed my account had been used to make high priced payments, when asked, i gave my long card number only to be told
"Oh, im afraid we carnt find your account details Mr.*****, can you please tell me your sort code & account number?",
    on which i said
"no!! i do not know if this is a real call"
i was then told "thats ok, if i look on the back of my card, i will find the banks 24hr number and ask to speak to the fraud squad, they will check the situation and take it from there if needs be".
i hung up, phoned the bank up, spoke to them about it and was put through to the frud squad, when i told them all the details, including the fack that it sounded like a call centre in the background & it sounded very real and proffesional, i gave them the number (the one this is about) Lloyds checked it out and said it was NOT anything to do with them, this is not the first time this number has cropped up and it sounds like very proffessional fraudsters in a good number if it sounded like a call centre.
my card has been stopped, its been flagged just in case anyone trys to use it within 30 days & ive had a new one sent out to me.
The REAL Fraud Squad is now seriously looking into this.

Remember...if YOUR bank that holds YOUR account dont have your MOBILE NUMBER there is NO way they can txt OR phone you, if they do, PHONE your bank up and check!!!

Just called LloydsBank and it's legitimate. They were simply checking on some suspicious payments I'd made, Hotel in London, takeaways etc.

Yes this number is genuine, I tried to pay capital one earlier online then I had a text from lloyds bank via a mobile number asking if I had tried to use my card online, then a call from 08453510192, I phoned lloyds direct on 08453000000 and they confirmed it was them, so I'm happy

    Yes, it is Lloyds.
I hung up on them and called Lloyds number, gave them this number and they confirmed it is their e-fraud division, they then put me through to them themselves, and automated line asked me my DOB, and then read 5 transactions which they thought were suspicious.
All these were genuine, but better safe than sorry i suppose!

I have just contacted Lloyds bank. They have checked their numbers and they have no knowledge of it at all.
Beware! I've had 5 calls from the 0845 number today and I haven't answered one but whoever they are, they are very persistent.

I just received a call from this number and i work on a Switchboard, so i am assuming it IS a fraudulent call because it was to the office number.  The office does not have an account with Lloyds.
I am not calling them back, or finding out what the Lloyd's fraud number is because its obvious this is FRAUD.  Do not believe the above posters claiming it's legitimate, if it were there would be a person calling you, not an automated voice.

I had calls for an ex-resident from this number.

So I tried twitter and tweeted @AskLloydsBank asking about this number. Their reply :

"This is a genuine call from our Security team. If one of our customers has the wrong number registered, this will be highlighted when they're forced to contact us and change their details. Apologies for the inconvenience."

It's definitely NOT a scam. It is the LLoyds Bank Fraud Dept doing their job as a result of a suspected fraudulent transaction.  If YOU yourself have just had a transaction declined, then it will be a call to you regarding this transaction in order to verify it was not fraudulent use of the card. However, if you have NOT recently had a transaction rejected, then the likelihood is that someone else has attempted to use your card details. In either case you may find that your card is now blocked.
If you feel uneasy responding to this 0845 call (I too, do not like entering any personal details into an unsolicited call), then the best thing is to do phone the number on the back of your debit/credit card to sort the situation out directly.
Whilst it is frustrating to have the occasional valid transaction rejected, at least you can be assured that Lloyds Bank is actually seeking pro-actively to protect  both the customer and themselves from such criminal activity. Well done Lloyds Bank!!
PS. I'm not a Lloyds employee, but just a normal customer for 30+ years who's had nothing but excellent service from them.

Recieved a call on my mobile from this number stating it was Lloyds fraud department, I quickly put the phone down. I then called Lloyds from my landline, Lloyds had noticed a large transaction put through using my card details, the sum of £1,596 was pending to be paid off a holiday....thankfully due to Lloyds reacting quickly I have now stopped this transaction and my money is safe for now!!  Some people have no morals I cannot believe the cheek, the world is a scary place

Think you've tried to make your point quite enough times. Thing is, you're wrong, it is a genuine Lloyds number.

This is a genuine number, and replying to that message saying 'No' meant that the money attempting to be withdrawn got declined. Called up Lloyds on the number on their website to be sure it was all genuine. Card is cancelled and there is a new card on the way with no money missing! Top service from Lloyds!!

    This is indeed genuine.

I had a text from them saying someone had tried to place an order through Just Eat, and would I respond to the text with a yes or no to say if it was me.

I suspected phishing, so contacted the bank directly and was immediately put through to the fraud department.  Someone had been trying to place orders, but the bank had flagged the unusual ISP that was being used.

I can confirm the number IS genuine. If you don't answer the call, then you should get a text message with details of why they need to contact you. In adition asking if the transaction was you, and to reply Yes or No.
I called Lloyds on 0845 3 000 000 and asked for fraud, and they took me through their procedure.
Do not ignor. If I had not made the call I would have lost money from my account.
