Report a phone call from 08453510192 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Mr EdHad an automated call at work from this number, and on my home phone but not on my mobile! I smelt a rat, so phoned Lloyds bank on the number on the back of my card - turns out it is a genuine number - but it had been triggered by my failing with trying to put money on my O2 Wallet!

- ShaunI have had several calls today and after reading this thread went to Lloyds on The Strand. The number is genuine and thanks to the very helfpul staff, many payments to various mobile providers have been stopped. Lloyds have been brilliant but the inconvenience of not having a card for a few days is not ideal. The real question is how did they get my card details? The only payments that do not go through their click safe are payments made on a Kindle. Is this a common denominator for others?
- Caller: Lloyds TSB
- NickyI phoned Lloyds Bank fraud department and they have no record of having phoned me, and do not recognise this number as being one of theirs.
- ???I did not answer the call as I thought it was Tele sales, however I was left an answer phone message stating it was Lloyds bank fraud dept and to call the above number. Thinking it was scam and after googleing the number and finding this website, I obtained Lloyds fraud dept number from their website. They confirmed that 2 transactions totalling over £800 had been made on my account. Genuine call guys!
- Caller: Lloyds
- Dai replies to RobI agree. It is a genuine number that calls up in order to determine if a transaction on a card is genuine. Its an extra layer of security which at first seems intrusive but is actually very useful. They only allow the transaction to proceed of they are satisfied the person on the phone is who they say they are.
- RobThis is the number used by the Lloyds Bank anti-fraud unit to verify debit card transactions suspected of being fraudulent. You can use the automated response option to verify that a payment you have made is legitimate - or you can talk to someone in the unit if you think the transaction they are reporting to you is fraudulent. It's a valuable service.

- JamesTHIS IS GENUINE. I REPEAT. THIS. IS. GENUINE.
I thought it was a scam as well. I really did. In fact, I called them back and was told by a Lloyds rep that there was nothing noted on my account, and not to worry about it. Then this evening, my wife told me that they'd been calling the house as well. I've literally just got off the phone with Lloyds and have found about £250 (give or take) of fraudulent transactions within the past couple of days.
I know that people are going to lump me in with the scammers for making this post, and that's by the by. It doesn't help that the call really _does_ sound dodgy - they give your name (in a computer generated voice), and then ask you to press '1' if it's you, and then they give you another number to ring. This really isn't very good; it whiffs of phishing and I intend to feed this back to Lloyds. I'm usually pretty smart about these things and I was convinced it was a scam.
So...the best thing to do, if you're not sure, is to _not_ call the number you're told to call. Instead, hang up the phone and ring Lloyds direct - use the number on the back of your card. However - and this is crucial - ASK TO SPEAK TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT. If you don't, the chances are you're going to get someone who means well but who doesn't really know, and they may give you a quick answer to resolve your query fast so they can get to the next person in the queue. Persevere. You'll have to go through quite a bit of Q&A with the fraud department - they'll ask you all sorts of info about your address, standing orders and direct debits and other things to check that you're you, so have that info to hand - but frankly it was worth it to find out that my account's been compromised (their words).
So, in summary:
1. Yes, it sounds like a scam, but that's because we're all (justly) paranoid
2. If in *any* doubt, hang up and call Lloyds yourself - but make sure you speak to the right people
3. Some of the so-called 'scammers' posting here REALLY ARE telling the truth.

- AnnoyedJust received an automated call from this number claiming to be from Lloyds Bank Fraud Department and wanting to contact someone I have never heard of called Michael Richardson. We have had the same domestic phone number for over 6 years and we do not have any banking relationship with Lloyds. Tried to call their Fraud Department but got fed up with holding on and paying for the call after 5 minutes. Should I be concerned?
- Caller: Lloyds Fraud Department
- AnonTotally genuine call. Lloydstsb just wanted to double check whether recent transactions I had made were correct. Ring them back, totally automated and totally genuine
- Caller: Lloyd's bank
- JJI too can confirm that this number is genuine as they called me on all my given contact numbers today. I also was dubious as to whether the call was genuine as it was all automated, so when I did get to speak to someone I told them I'd prefer to call back on the number on my card just to be certain. In the meantime they cancelled my card as a precaution until I phoned back. If anyone else is in doubt please do the same but do NOT assume it is a scam and ignore contacting them as the call is likely to be very important.
- Caller: Lloyd's Bank Fraud Dept
- paulineI also called the number on my card and they confirmed it was from the fraud team. If you're unsure just call the number on your card they are very helpful.
- McgooThis is a genuine number, but if in doubt use the number on the back of your card!
- Caller: Lloyd's
- JPIt's a genuine Lloyd's bank transaction check. All pretty useless really, because it charges you a hefty amount to confirm transactions you've made or were not approved, at which time, in the case of a non approval, you'd have probably already called for the failed transaction to be approved. The service keeps you on the line forever and is bloody expensive. I just paid £5:60 to confirm what I'd already confirmed to Lloyd's staff days ago after asking them to approve a flight ticket transaction after it was refused online with KLM.com . Something I do monthly with the same carrier and have to go through the same process. Lloyd's fraud checks border on the ridiculous. They give you a special security number then never ask for it, or want it, and instead ask questions like; " what is the current balance on your account? No one knows that to the penny. Or, " how much was your last transaction for." It's mindbogglingly inept. I asked the member of the fraud team asking the questions if he could answer the same about his own account and he admitted that he couldn't. As for people saying that it stopped fraudulent transactions going through. That's absolute rubbish! Transactions are either approved or they're not. They don't wait in limbo somewhere. You're not liable for any fraudulent transactions, Lloyds are. Their whole security process is mindbogglingly inept and ill thought out. By all means take the call, but you'll be paying for it at premium number rates. I'll be asking Lloyds for my money to be returned.

- ANONThis number called me and gave me information only my bank would know about online transactions they had blocked so it was legit. We had better get used to this kind of thing I fear with so much fraud about, the scammers will this method too so beware

- HelenWell I had a missed call from this number today, I googled it as I do with all numbers like this and I came across two different opinions if the number is legit or not, I rang Lloyds up (rang them through a genuine number I got from their website) they asked me a few questions and told me that there was nothing highlighted on my account and then asked what for the number that had rang me and then she put me on hold then came back to say that the number was nothing to do with Lloyds and to be on the safe side not to give out any details to anyone who rings here claiming to be form Lloyds and if they say it's to do with fraud to ring their genuine number like I did to see if there is a problem with your account, also to ignore all emails too that ask for details, better to be safe than sorry
- Caller: Fake Lloyds
- Call type: Prank
- joeI DON'T EVEN HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH LLOYDS BANK. No bank would call with DETAILS OF A TRANSACTION LIKE AMOUNT AND COMPANY.....Transaction codes DO NOT simply show up like 'CURRYS £269'
THINK. They are only contacting you via mobile...It's just a mobile scam....and they make their money by making you call their 0845 mega expensive number....
BIG STINKY SCAM.- Caller: FAKE Lloyds
- lolliThis is a genuine call from Lloyds, i received a text message from them today asking to call this number due to suspected fraud on my account, i wasn't convinced so i called the main number from the website and was put through to the fraud department who confirmed that this is the number for them.

- Les52I don't know why people claim this is a scam it's a genuine LLoyds number , i missed the call but came on here and read the comments and i went straight to Lloyds online banking and checked my account and found transactions that i had not made so called the number back and they told me they had stopped unusual transactions on my account and read out some transactions and asked me to confirm which i had made , they were very helpful and the transactions that went through are going to be refunded ,the ones that were blocked were for very large amounts , much more than i have so no wonder it flagged up suspicious , my card is cancelled so hopefully will be all sorted in the next couple of weeks. to say i was in a panic is an understatement !!
