Hi Val, the company I've had dealings with was called Higgins and Thomas, not too sure if they're still attempting to rip people off or not. I’ve also successfully defended myself from a large stock image company over the alleged illegal unlicensed use of images on a website I bought, although I must stress im not qualified to give any legal advice to anyone.

I've no idea who Jodi is, or why she??? felt the need to tell everyone that she??? runs a hair salon as nobody else has specified which industry they conduct honest business in. But whilst we're on the subject, yes I own a hair salon and now im wondering if this is common amongst everyone on here? It would be interesting if it was as it would then seem Britannia Law Limited were targeting salons which typically have phones answered by young women.

In our particular case, Britannia Law Limited spoke to one of our trainee female stylists not a manager and was happy without even asking her position within the salon to take her answer to progress with the claim on our behalf.

What I find even more amusing is when I explained this to the fool that is David White at Britannia Law, he wanted me to get the trainee in question, to write a letter confirming that I the person who owns the salon and employs the said trainee, has the authority to deal with Britannia Law on her behalf... What a prat!

In order to raise more negative awareness of Britannia Law Limited on the public forum of the internet, could I ask everyone when referring to Britannia Law Limited on here to actually use the full term “Britannia Law Limited” as it will help this site with the SEO search results, basically meaning people will be able to find this information easier when they Google / Yahoo etc it.

I've also completed the Watchdog's online form regarding Britannia Law Limited.

May I make it clear to everyone involved with this type of company dealing with business rates, you are able to appeal your business rates yourselves with the Valuation Office by simply completing a standard form. Upon receipt of this completed for the Valuation Office will contact you to inform you of roughly when your case will be heard.

All Britannia Law Limited do is fill out your companies details and send this form, upon receipt of the Valuation Offices conformation, their ludicrous fee’s become payable. Should any of you find yourselves in court with Britannia Law Limited or any other company offering the same service for bonkers sums of money, you should ask them to justify the amount claimed?

The problem with fools like the bunch at Britannia Law Limited is they think we’re all stupid! They don’t realise that I could think of a million different ways to extort money out of people using systems like they employ. In fact I would be able to do a far better job of it than they are doing, but I quite like the way I soundly sleep at night, knowing im offering a fair service to all the clients we have! The point im trying rather poorly to make is; it takes an intelligent person to scam successfully, however it takes an even more intelligent person to be successful whilst remaining honest!

Simon, please can you confirm roughly when you received communications from Britannia Law Limited stating their registered address as Whittier Road? I  (like others on here) rang them yesterday and they advised it was Foxhall Lodge. Agree that both areas look like residential homes in a run down part of Nottingham.

just to say yes they are idiots but I do not have a salon ...I think they target just any small businesses, and I will remember to put the full address because I think it would be wonderfull to find others in the same boat,I remember reading a post on another website about Higgins and Thomas ripping people off

Which is why in my opinion this Amy Bainbridge is just a ruse, or smoke-screen to detract away from the fact that the real person pulling the strings for this company has probably been a director at a previous business rating surveyor scam outfit and has been banned from being a director for a number of years. They normally just pay someone to put their name, which has no prior history to previous crimes on the company documentation.

Britannia Law Limited have never stated their address as Whittier Road, a company check revealed this as the registered address for the company! Since, it's been changed to Foxhall Lodge.

OK... just to update you all on my progress!
Solicitor emailed a letter to Britannia Law Limited yesterday afternoon at 5.30pm and also sent a copy of it in letter form...
This morning I got a call from David White, and I have to admit he was very apologetic, saying that he would search out the person or persons who called 9 times in 10 minutes demanding payment, and they would be fired. he said he would remove my file as I didn't get a Terms and Conditions through the post, and I would not hear from Britannia Law Limited again..and all he wished was that clients who were unhappy with them would contact them direct, but had no answer when I explained I had sent a letter in November by recorded delivery which was signed for on the 23rd November, and no acknowledgement was sent.

Now, I have no guarantee that he means what he says, but I do know Britannia Law Limited are watching this forum very closely, and the power of the internet is tremendous, as you can all see the interest is growing daily..so it really would be in their best interests to do as they promised.  By the way I had him on loud speaker and both my sons were listening in.

I have to say the letter from my solicitor was absolutely brilliant, (his name is Lee Stutt, from Nalders Solicitors, Truro , Cornwall) I would highly recommend him.

By the way, I don't have a hairdressers!

If anyone is interested in seeing a copy of the solicitors letter then I would be more than happy to forward it on.

18 Whittier Road, is the home address listed for Ms Amy BAINBRIDGE, the sole director of Britannia Law Ltd.

That dwelling is squalid.  Observe the signs of forced entry around the front door of the dwelling:

    http://g.co/maps/yrcfk

The house looks like an illegal squat, or a multi-occupancy private rental, let to social security claimants.

For the purposes of the Britannia Law fraud, the house was just a mail-drop.

It was an address used by the fraudsters to get the company registered with Companies House, and up-and-running with Ms Amy BAINBRIDGE listed as sole director.

BAINBRIDGE, if she even exists, may know nothing about her directorship!

It's quite possible that her identity has been stolen and used to register the company without her knowledge.

As for the Foxhall Road address, that is just a "virtual office" rental business.  The office premises are managed by Foxhall Business Centres Ltd,

    See Google Street View: http://g.co/maps/pfsur

Foxhall Business Centres Ltd boast of offering "a prestigious business address, mail handling and delivery, dedicated telephone number (non-geographical, 0800 or local), call transfer or divert and message handling & follow-up."

The Foxhall Business Centre company has dozens of "virtual tenants" like the Britannia Law Ltd swindlers.  Tenants pay as little as £6 for the service of a maildrop,  i.e. they buy a mailbox to use for correspondence.

    See: http://www.foxhallbc.co.uk/nottingham-virtual-office.html

The directors of the Foxhall Business Centre Ltd should be made aware of the Britannia Law fraud.

With pressure from police detectives, they will have to disclose their exact relationship with the gangsters running the Britannia Law Ltd swindle.

    Important Questions:

Who has been collecting the mail for Britannia Law?  Or has it been forwarded? And if so, to what address?

Who has been paying the rent for the "virtual office" from Foxhall Business Centres Ltd?

What payment method have the fraudsters used?   Where is the documentation for the payment transaction(s)?

Before leasing "virtual office space" to Britannia Law Ltd, what identification documents was obtained from the fraudsters?

Those documents will be crucial in Criminal Proceedings against the fraudsters.

Nottingham CID should be tracking down the fraudsters behind Britannia Law Ltd.  That's the job we pay the Police to do..

I have had dealings with Britannia Law also. I can assure you that this is a civil matter. My sister is a solicitor. If you have paid Britannia Law for a service and they have not delivered then you have a case with trading standards. If you have not paid Britannia Law then you have suffered no loss financially and therefore my advice would be to just ignore them and in the mean time seek advice regarding what it is you have entered into. The best thing to do is ring and talk to them if you are unsure and escalate the matter. You have to legally put your concerns in writing. I can see everyone here is playing detective which is all very well . . however you have to put your complaint in writing and offer the chance for a reply of which if you are not satisfied then you can seek further advice. I am afraid the be all and end all is if you have not paid any funds then it is simply a dispute of contact. If you have paid them then do request in writing a date of which the service you have paid for will be delivered. Hope this helps guys. Oh by the way . . I had my contact cancelled with Britannia Law. I explained my concerns and that I was unaware of such contract. A manager from their "Legal Team" called me back as I stated on the "distance selling contract" I would require exact figures on any rebates due before i proceed. It is very unlikely your tapes were tampered with also. And if you feel this is the case there are experts you can pay to prove otherwise at a cost which you can charge back to Britannia Law if this is found to be the case

If you are certain they have edited the contract without informing you then seek legal advice Angela. This forum will not provide any practical advice. If you have paid them then i would definitely recommend you do so. If you have a copy of the recording send it to a solicitor and let them advise you. I have read comments on here and agree with most of them. But there does not seem to be any paying clients as yet that have come forward and stated they are displeased. Its a difficult one I know. But I would concentrate on your own case and just call them. If you have not paid anything then don't worry. My sister says it's best to just seek advise
