Yep, same for me. Every week a have several calls. I never answer to any numbers that arent in my local area anyway. From reading all this though i dont think ill start to either. If anyone calls il just speak in japanese, that should be fun.

I have reffered them to my MP, and have written a letter formally complaining.
I have also passed to a solicitor.
And had the number barred.

Can I suggest we all write to one mp,so its brought up for discussion.
or let your local mp,know others are sending letters in about the same subject.

I also contacted watchdog.

Thank god i found this site! Had a call from these people a few hours ago, asked me to confirm my address and when i asked why, the guy got all aggressive and said that as i'm refusing to co-operate then i'd be getting a letter?  I have no idea why i'm supposed to be owing Ebay cash as i haven't been able to get into my account for 3 months since i last sold something!

Ebay don't reply, i'm still locked out of the account and i haven;t purchased anything on there for months - all transactions have been as a seller and all money has been received - Ebay take their cut automatically!!!

There's a scam going on somewhere for sure but this Collections agency are completely above and beyond and totally over the top.

If anyone has a link to anyone fighting these people or advice on how to deal with them then please post it up on here!

Paypal had a miss hap on my behalf instead of just refusing payment they waited a month before the credit back firing.
and i have offered payment in 2 months they said i have 48 hours i said for 32 quid not a chance they will send a collector disguisting service but in the end i owe them money they have refused me paying twice for two months space disgusting attitude.

i Do not care with the calls i dont take them to heart just have fun find ways to mick them off make your voice hard to hear this will teach them i change language saying i dont speak english then say yeah love i comeing now that was funney he tried to reply i cut him off.

Hopefully this company will go bankrupt.

I have just phoned the company and asked if i can pay monthly through direct debit.
They said yes that is fine.

And was accepted for direct debit i must say he was nicer than all the rest so aim to get him if you can.

They just called our house and hung up after asking if I was "Mr ____".  Didn't attempt to call them back though, they can f off :).

Just had them ring my mobile now!  What is this companies problem - there's been a [***]-up with either ebay or paypal and now i have to carry the can by getting harrassed by these imbeciles for an amount that can't possibly be more than £4 as i only sold the damn item for £40!!!

Can it really be in anyones interest to get what is supposedly one of europes biggest, oldest and most respected (hahaha!!!) "debt management" companies involved? I've emailed Ebay and got nothing but useless stock answers from them with absolutely no mention or apology for refering me to these debt people!!!

Oh, they hung up again immediately when i asked them (a) who they were
(b) how much i owe and (c) why can't they simply send me a letter?

This number also rang me demanding money when I asked who and why she just said she was sending somebody round my house!and slammed the phone down!
I was completly confused and intimidated I didnt even know they were a debt collection agent til I googled it!

Why would I give money to a complete stranger when i dont even know who they are acting on behalf?

I received a call on saturday evening from the number 08703330159 claiming to call from Thames water. The caller told me that he was calling from Thames water and I had a balance of GBP 36, which I have to pay immedialtely else he will report me.
The caller has been calling since last one week in my absence.
It was a very intimidating call and was threatening to take action if I refused to pay. Since I was confident that I didnt have any outstanding balance on my account hence I asked to verify the details and he refused that. Other things that he said:
1. That I have been playing games
2. That I have refused to make the payment and hence I will be reported and charded 70 pounds
3. That he doesnt have time for new statements to arrive as the time had passed and I have to make the payment immediately
4. He was trying to force me to give my credit card/ debit card details. But fortunately my wife overheard the conversation and told me that it was a scam and hence I didnt make payment.  
5. When I told him I will call back on official thames water number, he said I have to call on their number which I refused and disconnected the number telling him to report me.
6. The caller spoke in fluent English.

Please be aware of this caller and if possible report it immediately. Please do not give in to the intimidation.

I been getting calls a few times a day, and they always say its a private call and they cant tell me anything till i give then my address and other information, which to be honest i'm not doing, i have no idea who they are.


Im SOOOO!!!! scary now, i dont even know what to do, I did get a red letter from Thames Water, but i paid it the day it came, and ive spoken to them and they say its nothing to do with them.

what do i do? :(

Call 01514727155 instead of the 0870 number and you should get back to someone.

if you have a ref then quote that otherwise you will need to quote name and full adress and you will find out why they are caling.

Have been in receipt of many calls recently from this lot, to my home 'phone.
Further to the above comments, I've never used EBay / PayPal, and do not have any utility payments outstandng.
However - having found this thread through Google, and skimmed through it - I did notice an earlier entry about changing Power Companies.
I've recently done just that, so - British Gas and E.On - if either of YOU are behind this harassment, beware the Ombudsman my son.
I have emailed Intrum Justitia through their website telling them to stop calling, and inviting they write to me if they believe that there is any lawful business between us.
(I love the junk mail forwarding idea - above from Robin Scouse - might try that!)

These people are just the normal intellect free debt collecting agency and the best way to deal with them is ignore their calls till they go away. Either that or threaten legal action and ask for name etc of the person calling. [***] the lot of them!

thanks for the efforts to post people - im usually just a reader but thought i'd stop being lazy - this number has called me 1+ a day for the last 2 weeks. i answered for the first time today with 'phone me again and im taking legal action' then hung up.
i'll let you know how this goes.

I am completely amazed at the lenghts some of u people will go 2 not pay bills!!
fair enough wrong numbers are very annoying, but the rest of u have no excuse
those monkeys in call centres could teach u a few things, how to go to work, pay bills and not be at home all day getting called by dca's!

carol - have you considered for a minute that the whole point of this forum is for people who dont actually owe anything? the fact that you seem to have somehow missed this huge flashing neon light of obviousness is so sublimely astounding, i can only conclude you either work with these idiots or you possibly failed your interview to join them

Had a couple of calls this week already from this number, asking for my fiancée.  When I asked who was calling, they simply said it was a business call.  We have ahd a number of calls like this before, so my partner and I exchanged withered glances, whereupon the "gentleman" on the phone simply stated "Thaty's OK, if you won't put her on the phone we'll just call back again," and hung up.  They called again on Monday, and this time my partner was out, so I asked what it was about, and they said it was a business call, so I simply hung up, getting annoyed with this routine.  They just called now, same story.  This time I passed them over to my partner, who was asked to confirm some personal details before anything else.  She wisely informed them that she wouldn't confirm anything until they explained who they were, whereupon they hung up.  I'm glad I found this site as I now realise this is by no means an isolated incident.  I also believe this is not the first time this company has harrassed my fiancée.  At no point did anyone mention their name, the company they represented, or explicitly why they called.  We are now fed up.

I love these people, they are such good fun! I have never spoken to human beings with such a lack of humor in my entire life.
They've been calling me a LOT the last two months, after my initial reluctance to confirm my details (you can give them a false postcode by the way, I did and they said it "would do") -
turned out they wanted money for thames water, which i didnt owe - but in fact it was good that they called because they reminded me that I was due a rebate! woohoo! called thames water, asked them politley to tell there wonderful debt collections people to leave me alone, and they paid me my 40 quid and apologized and were completely lovely. job done.
or maybe not.
So im still getting threatened by these people, telling me that there gonna charge me this that and the other if I don't pay up. obviousely I tell them to stuff it. they tell me I need to "prove" that I don't owe them money?!?!?
wtf? they even asked me to fax them my old tenancy agreement!!! what?!?!?!??!   I tell them that they can ask thames water as its not my problem. they tell me they will put my account on hold for 7 days and will find out if I am telling the truth. low and behold they are calling again, although I keep missing there calls, so I assume they have done nothing and they are going to give me some more fun!

so....safe in the knowledge that I AM RIGHT and they are wrong, next time they call, any tips on how torment them to an equal degree that they have been tormenting me?  ;)
