i just got my bill and dont even remember this caller - it wa on christmas day at 10am, so you think i would. it lasted 6 mins apparently and cost my about £15!!!

I just googled 09074734001 and found this thread.  I hae just had a friend on whos has a iPhone same as me.  He told me that over Christmas he downloaded an app called Bubble wrap or something.  Its a game that lets you "pop" the bubble wrap on the screen.  Anyway as soon as he finished he got a call from this number and answered it and was promptly charged £15 quid!

Is this a coincidence perhaps - did you download this app and have the same thing happen.

This occurred to me today, was browsing through facebook at the time on my iPhone and this number just came up and instantly dialled an connected, heard some rubbish about calls being more expensive from mobiles before I hung up. Haven't been able to get into the O2 app all day to see about costs bit went online to check it and for 9 seconds it cost me £1.70. Not happy, not happy at all will be ringing O2 tomorrow and be asking them how this occurred because I don't know this number and somehowy phone just decided to up and call it. Do I have to leave my phone on airplane mode now????

Yep, Just happened to my girlfriend. Playing BubbleWrap and this number was auto dailed. Hung up pretty quick thankfully.

Aye....Same kind of thing here. Bubble Wrap probably was the issue. Didn't notice it for a few minutes though and it charged me £12! App now deleted. I've comlained to O2 and will complain to phonepayplus, who seem to have an interest in this company. I wonder why???

Yup, the exact same thing happened to me!! On xmas eve, luckily it only cost me £1.702 on my bill, but it has now been deleted! Will be phoning O2 tomorrow rto complain. Surely if enough people complain they will have to do something!

Apple,O2 and their 'app' clients are laughing all the way to the bank

I am the author of Bubblewrap on the iPhone. I would like to assure you there is nothing in my code that dials out numbers. I see it did it in another popular app here too, are the problems only effecting people with 'jailbroken' phones maybe?

I really don't think there is any way you can get an app to dial out without presenting that confirmation alert anyway, I know my app doesn't try anyway. Perhaps it's nothing to do with my app if calls are coming in just while you are playing it, people do spend lots of time popping.

I have only received one email ( yesterday ) raising this concern with me. I'm waiting to hear back from them as my only guess is  they have tapped, or had someone else on their phone, tap an ad that prompted them to dial some service, if I knew the advertiiser I may be able to get it blocked.

My iPhone is not jailbroken. I'm not sure how it happened (probably from accidentally clicking an ad-displayed with one of my aps) but I was charged dialing the 09074734000 number without realising it. The controller of that number is Rare Direct Media.

this just happened to me, I am in the usa...  i have the app on my phone, my phone rang and it said that it was a friend of mine, i answered it and it was like someone was using a voice modifier.  when i said i couldnt understand them, the call disconnected.  i called my friend thinking he was playing a joke on me, he said he wasnt even near the phone and said he had gotten 2 other calls from people that asked if he called.... then while i was on the phone with him my call waiting beeped and said that it was him... i hit the wrong button and a few minutes later still on the phone with him it did it again.  I took the call and again wierd noises. then again when i said i cant understand you, the call disconnected.  i saw nothing that said 09014734001 though????  i promptly deleted bubble wrap from my phone

Hopefully this is now resolved as the AdMob company has updated the software.

I had the same premium number (looked after by rare direct media) dialled from my mobile. I have never dialled this number from my mobile. I have contacted O2, Rare direct media and Apple.

Advice:
1) Get O2 to bar premium phone calls from your mobile
2) email - gareth@raredirectmedia.co.uk giving details of 09074734000 number
3) Please call Apple and lodge a complaint as when I called them they said to be aware of no such issue at all !!

They are now calling with the Caller ID being displayed as MSI.
