called by this number, saying some in the household had won a competiton. No one here has entered from here. Gave no name and then hung up.

Called by this number, saying that my details had been passed to them in regards to a recent accident and that I had the right to claim compensation - company name given was LEGAL ACCIDENT. The caller identified himself as John Simon, located at 21 Mooreland Road, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham.

I advised Mr. Simon that if this was a legitimate UK company he would be able to provide me with a VAT number and I would continue the conversation, at which point he hung up.

I was able to search the address to a Bankruptcy Company with a subsiduary business called ACCIDENT COMPENSATION SERVICE. I was advised that they are aware of the phone calls and that the Indian Call Centre has been misrepresenting themselves as a legitimate business, and they have been reported to the police - this has been ongoing for at least 5 years.

It is a scam in order to illegally obtain financial information - if you do receive such a call, please post your comments online and report the incident to the FSA - consumer.queries@fsa.gov.uk.

Just received a phone call from 091597 informing me that they were from Legal Accident Claim company and that my phone number had been passed to them because somebody in our household had been involved in a road traffic accident about two and half years ago, or were suffering from injuries sustained.   I told them this was nonsense and asked how they had got hold of my phone number by which they then hung up.

Just had a call from a male with a heavy asian accent asking me who had been in an accident in the last two years I swiftly hung up.  BEWARE SCAMMERS

Just received a call from this number, kept him talking for about 10 minutes (their phone bill) said he was from Accident Compensation Service and that someone at our number had been involved in an accident.  I asked where he was ringing from and he said Birmingham, gave me a very odd address unable to give me a postcode.  When I told him to put it in writing he said I was very difficult - strong Asian accent.

Just got the same call.
It's so obvious that this is a fake company. They told me the same story: someone in my family was supposedly involved in an accident in the last two years and now they want to offer my family compensation.
After I asked a couple of questions (company name, address, etc) the guy on the other side of the phone told me "I will [***] you you [***] [***]"...I took this as a confession from his side and hung up.

I was just called by 'John' informing me that i was being contacted because someone in the household had suffered an accident - perplexed, I asked him if he had dialed the right number and he confirmed to me that he had after which he promptly hung up. I checked the number with 1471 - surprise.. 091597

I recieved a call from them today and i reported them to the police. they are scams trying to get you bank information

Unfortunately I am one of the owners of Accident Compensation Services 21 Moorland Road Burslem Stoke on Trent Staffordshire ST6 1DS. My company has been targeted by these scammers for a period of over five years. We believe this has nothing to do with accidents we believe this is simply to obtain personal details followed by bank details to pay in imaginary compensation to steal your identity and your money, Avoid at all costs, unfortunately I cannot do anything about the situation we are a genuine claims company who have nothing to do with these people.

Unfortunately we are still getting complaints from these Indian Call Centre Scammers thank God for the internet where information can be shared. Do not enter into any dialogue with the scammers, they are still around which means they are being successfull in tricking the public into giving information about themselves,

Well as the owner of Accident Compensation Services the complaints level has dropped from 4 a week to none in the last 7 weeks could it be this Indian Call center due to the internet is no longer have any success I sincerely hope so, although from the 30th April referral fees are banned it could be that legislation has finally forced them out of business

Just had a call from them tonight. Claim to be from Derby City Council.
Young female with an Asian accent , I could hear other Asian voices in the background so I guessed it was a call centre. I sent her away with a flea in her ear but not before I got her to tell me her company name- accident compensation services. Number withheld.

It occurs to me that last week I got a message left on my answerphone , a very quick speaking again voice appearing to have left a message for the wrong person.
I called back withholding my number and left a message that they had called my Derby number in error- I m now not sure if they were trying to obtain my info here too
