- AJJust got a call from this person --- this week end I went to Best Buy and got a new telephone system that allows you to put up to 30 names into the phone and when any of these idiots call - it rings once and then stops and gives a real fast busy signal to the one who is calling. It was $70 for this set of two phone but it is WELL worth it, we actually had a nice quiet dinner hour last night without the CREEPY callers interrupting us. TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT!!!!!!!
- Caller: Unknown
- AmyDon't waste your time pressing 1 or whatever they say to get a live agent. They will just hang up on you. Instead, write down the time/date of the call and the phone number on the caller ID and go to donotcall.gov and report it!! It does work!! I was getting a call from the same phone number and within 24 hours of reporting it stopped. It started with a new phone number and I did the same, and it stopped. PLEASE REPORT THESE NUMBERS! Also, I have a feature on my phone to "block" phone numbers. Lots of phones have these features. Find one and use it! They work!!!
- DanJust got this same call. Automated call about a chance to lower credit card rates and press 1 to continue. Pressed 1 to see and a person picked up talking about lowering rates to 6.99 on my cards. When I asked which ones he listed off Chase, Visa, MasterCard, Bank of America and asked if I was paying more than 10%. When I said "no" he hung up. I dialed *69 to get the number and then Googled it which brought me to this site.
If you get a call from this number DEFINITELY call the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at 1-877-382-4357 to register a complaint. - SkepticalOnly pick up phone if I recognize the Caller ID. This one was "Wash DC Call". They didn't leave a message. Glad I found this site!
- Scott M.Rec'd call at 9:10am today apparently from this #. Recording played '...Calling from "Account Services". If you want to save money on your credit card interest rates, press...." Have received robo-dialed come-ons using this angle from other scammers, previously in FL and GA. Callback to that number yields recording "The subscriber you dialed is not in service...if you feel.." etc.
People, "Account Services" is likely not their name & they are not a legitimate company. It is ILLEGAL to solicit using automated dialers, and it's ILLEGAL to violate the National Do Not Call registry (my # has been registered since founded), to whom I also reported complaint on this call.- Caller: unk
- TerriI also received a call from this number today. The caller, who spoke very poor english (another issue I have), advised that he could reduce my credit card interest rate. He asked for the expiration date. I felt there was no harm in doing so, so I gave him the expiration date. He then asked me for the card number. I told him that if he was truly calling from my credit card company, he would know my card number. He then told me that he only needed the number for verification purposes. When I told him again that I wasn't giving him my number, he got agitated, so I hung up and called the 800 number on the back of my card and reported the incident. They immediately cancelled my account and opened a new account for me. These people need to be hung.
- Sarah JonesI pressed "1" to see what they would say about lowering my interest rate on a card I knew I did not own. I kept asking which company owned the VISA - he hung up on me.
- Caller: not available to me

- Marya RotherRecored call on credit card balance. I press a number to not call anymore.
- SwenGot a call today which I know is a scam. They say it is Card Member services card about lowering my credit card interest rate. I press one and a woman with what sounded like and East Indian accent came on the line. I asked her what bank was calling she said we are not a bank we represent MasterCard and Visa. I asked which Visa card she represent and said we represent Bank America, Chase etc. When I told her I want to be removed from her calling list she hung up.
When I called the number a recording said the number was not in service.
Definitely a scam! - HeatherReceived a call on my cell phone from this number 202-459-7122 which came up as the District of Colombia. I usually do not answer unknown numbers but I have a cousin in DC so I figured it may be him. IT IS A SCAM. He told me that he worked for card services for visa and mastercard and could lower my interest rate to 6.9%. He had an accent but I could not tell where it was from. I asked them what company and they would not specify. They then asked me how many visa/mastercards I had, what my APR's were and whether my balances were over $3K. He then proceeded to ask me to "confirm" my 16 digit account number. When I refused, he said that it was "safe" because I was not providing them with any security information like the three digit code on the back of my card. I asked to speak with a supervisor and got the speech outlined above repeated to me. I then asked how he got my phone number - he said it was automatically generated from account holders who are in good standing. I asked what number they had called and what my name was. No response. I asked to speak to a supervisor - he danced around and became increasingly irritated. When I said give me a supervisor or I am hanging up, he said "well then hang up." I called the Federal Trade Commission and reported them. You should too.....877-382-4357. They confirmed that this is a scam.

- SnubberCalled to "lower my credit card debt". I kept him on the phone for as long as possible to waste his time. I've gotten at least 25 calls from them, always with a different caller ID. He claimed the return number was 877-283-8065. The number works and is answered by "Financial Services" in Florida. BTW, the guy on the phone knew my last name.
