- MattJust got this one at 10:30. Diane Yentel of the 202. What a scam!
- LL EI too received a call today, 8/4/09, from this number, 202-459-7122, I didn't answer. But, part of the recorded message from this number was recorded on my machine stating something about my percetage rate on my credit card and if I push 1 I can take advantage of a lower interest rate or push 2 and received no more calls from this number. Glad I google the number before calling this number and found out it is a scam.
- somedudeSame as the other folks, automated call talking about lowering interest rates on my credit card. Funny part is, I have no credit cards.
- MichaelWhy can't the feds shut these [***] down?
- MarkJust got it too. Didn't answer.
- JacqueI read the various posts listed and was very concerned about the one that said this was a legigimate business. I DO NOT BELEIVE IT IS. I AM CERTAIN IT IS A SCAM...I do not usually waste my time with stuff like this phone call but I did on this particular day because I have young adults in my home and I wanted to know what they might be hearing if they should be the ones answering the phone.... I received the call similar to those stated above....(this was not the first one I have receved.. they have been coming for weeks, maybe months) It was automated... promises to lower your credit card debt, interest rate, etc... sounds good.... When I pushed 1, the accent was difficult to understand... she asked questions about my debt, how much I had, what my rate was, etc... I told her I had lots of debt at various rates.... She said ok you qualify... I kept asking questions and could tell she was getting frustrated... then she said that she needed the phone number to verify my eligibility... I said... "you called me.. don't you have my number?" She said... you obviously don't understand and so I am going to end this call.... I said... wait.. ok Here's my number..... And then she tells me this... Ok great... NOW I NEED TO VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE AT LEAST TWO CREDIT CARDS.... and I said I do. What's next.... AND SHE SAID I NEED TO VERIFY.... And I said how do you do that? AND SHE SAID THE COMPANIES NEED TO VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT.... And then I asked "Are you asking me to give My Credit Card numbers to you?".... "YES" SHE SAID "THAT IS WHAT I WANT" Then I responded, now I am going to end this call and you are gong to take me off your calling list as I am on the do not call list. During the process I also had asked to talk to a Supervisor, but she claimed none was available...
My concern is for our young innocent kids just in or out of college, or just married couples or the many others struggling with debt, or someone whose out of work... These people that do this are SICK individuals.... They need to be put in jail. I don't know if that is possible. But I do believe that at every opportunity, we should continue to report them. I see too many people struggle with their finances and it angers me that we can't do something about this.... By the way... As I was typing this... I received yet another call ... Caller ID said it was Yentel, Diane at 202-459-7122... if the people calling us are reading what we write, they know what we do.... they will change the name and number and continue to find a way to cheat and rob people.... I think we should all google any caller ID's that we don't recognize the name or number and not answer blocked calls. Hope this helps someone... that was my only intention of writing this. Beware... the thieves are out there.- Caller: Diane Yentel
- Lillington, NC"Diane Yentel" called this morning, but it was a pre-recorded message stating that although my credit card account was fine, to take advantage of lowering the rate. I am on the do not call registry, and been a victim of ID theft in the past. I know better than that. I wish there were better laws to protect us.
- DAug.5, 2009 @ 10:03 A.M.; phone rang; did not answer; CID showed "Diane Yentel" @ 202-459-7122; Googled the name and number to find it's a scam and violation of do not call list. Also received three other CID numbers at about the same time. They were: 114-382-7674; 484-734-1117; and "private name".
- JenDefinitiely some kind of scam. I checked my vm messages during lunch and had an automated recording telling me to press one to lower my interest rates.
I really have a problem with businesses that don't follow the telemarketing rules. #1) Don't call people that are on the Do Not Call list #2) Identify yourself - that means your name, the name of the company you represent, and the purpose of your call. #3) Offer a opt out by providing contact information in the event a call is picked up by voice mail.- Caller: Unknown
- LMtooI just checked to see why that number keeps coming up on my home phone. now I know!
- Caller: dont know
- Marlaina FullerWhen I answered the phone no one was on the other end. The call didnt disconnect until I hung up. This phone number called my cell phone!!
- LeeI did not answer. Caller ID showed Unknown Name.
A recorded unaccented woman's voice talked about lowering my credit card interest rate. I needed to push 1 on phone to talk to a live representative. - AliceI just got 2 calls from this number but I didn't answer my phone (showed up on caller ID). Their big mistake is using a number w/a 202 area code. I live in the District of Columbia, so I'm reporting it to the local Verizon office.
- TomReceived a recorded message from 2024597122--Diane Yentel. Saw these remarks abd filed a complaint. Remember--just becasue the number is a 202 area code, it may not be in D.C. or even the USA. With internet phone numbers, one can get any area code.
- Diane YentelAll, I am very upset to see my name connected with such a scam. This is an old cell number of mine, inactive for many years. I have not placed any of these calls and have nothing to do with this "business." It is most certainly a scam. I will be contacting the phone company and the FBI first thing tomorrow.
Thanks very much to those of you who took the time to contact me and alert me to this scam. - Annoyed from NJI received a call today 8.5.09 at 9:15 AM EST from 202-459-7122. Since it said a "T-Mobile number" on the call ID I thought perhaps it was a wrong number or some person with whom I hadn't spoken in a long time. I'm seeing now that it's a scam. Don't even bother to answer it. I"m going to put them onthe DO NOT CALL list. beware...

- VictimI just received the call, AGAIN, a few minutes ago. This has gone on for many months and I have reported them to the No Call Registry months ago but they have done nothing to stop them.
- anonReceived caller id info dated Aug 5 with this name and number
- Poway MojoGot one of these, today. Tried to string her along (ie waste her time) as long as I could. She gave me the first 4 digits for BofA Visa. Of course, ALL BofA Visas start with 4264. Could not string her longer than 5 minutes. She just would not go any farther without me giving her my other numbers. I faked them and she ran them. Came back invalid so; my hook was slipping away.
Reported to FTC and Do Not Call. - NYjContine receiving calls from this number. I have answered in the past and told them NOT to call again. They agree and then in a few weeks they call again. Today I received two calls in one minute.
