Report a phone call from 202-459-7122 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- scott burnsthey keep calling and saying that nothing is wrong with my account but they can lower my intrest rates they dont even say what card i have.
- G.O. SeattleGot the call, it now comes up as Cell Phone DC, 202-459-7122. The rest is as mentioned above. I selected "1", got someone with a thick accent, they asked if I was interested in lowering my interest rates, so I said "Yes, but I'm very nervous about giving out an information over the phone. Specifically what Credit Card company are you with?" At that point I was disconnected!
They have been doing this since August based on what I see on this site, so why aren't they shut down? Is there someone we're supposed to report this to? - AbbyI just got a call last night from this number. Typed it in my browser and found this site.
- mary costelloI agree with the previous posts from this site. Appears to be a scam, as I asked mroe questions he kept saying "it works for visa or master card.. as he started the personal questions. I said I am not inclined to answer your questions since I have no idea who you are. If I wanted to lower my rates I'd call the card myself". And they hung up
- Caller: never said but ID said T Mobile
- JenCall from 2024597122 caller ID lists as(unknown caller) . Whenver I receive a call from an unknown entity I pick up and say nothing. This caller hung up and I believe it was some kind of scam entity. For the taxes we pay, the government should be hunting down these phone criminals!
- Caller: unknown caller
- SantaCruzWhen I answered, they hung up. Thanks for posting your experiences with this number!
- DKCredit card call
- ricCalling RE: Lowering your interst payments on your CrCard. yada yada same story as other posts..Press1. Rep came on intro HIMSELF, but was has to understand. Finally got his name as CARLOS. He represented Visa & MC. I pushed for an answer as to what CrCard service was he calling from... "V & MC", I asked him again WHAT BANK CARD SERVICE DO YOU REPRESENT" Click, hang up. This call orginated from a cell ph in the DC area. When I get these scam calls I go to my states ATTY GEN site & file a report with all the info I have. I suggest you do also.
- JuneI'm going to try to report it to the FTC. Having been through this before, I know the drill. They will tell me to report to the State Atty General's Office, who will in turn tell me to report it to the FTC. Possibly neither entity actually takes action other than telling consumers to report it to someone else. Note that this scam has been ongoing since August, 2009. Did not get a caller ID but did get a vague automated message about my credit card. Scares me that these scams are ongoing, people are presumably losing their money, yet nobody seems able to stop the calls.
- bigunkI just got the call from Heather saying she could lower my rates to 6%. Wow. So I pressed 1 and got some mook with limited english skills. It was great, I had this yutz on the phone for 11:15, wasting as much of his time as I could. He said he worked for Visa and MasterCard and knew I was paying all my cards on time (I'm not). He believed me when I said I had 8 cards (I don't). He wanted me to read off the 16 digit number of the first card, just so he could confirm. He said he would never be able to make a purchase unless he had the 3 digit security code on the back of the card. I said if he works for V&MC, he should have all the info and should just go right ahead and lower my rate. Simple. Why even bother to call me? I mean, they raised my rates without permission, why ask to lower them? I kept running this bonehead around in little circles. What was fun was when he would say he thought I didn't need his service, I would say I sure did, so let's continue! It worked! I asked how his service worked, where he could tell the banks what interest rate to charge me. He tried, and failed miserably. That was entertaining. It was so much fun to mess with these scammers. He asked if he should call back when I had the cards in my hand, and that's when I said sure, please do so I can waste more time from frauds like him.
Honestly, I know we're all busy, but let's all take as much of their time as we can so they don't get anything done and as a result, dry up and blow away.- Caller: Cell Phone DC
- VickiThey are violating current telemarketing laws with their recorded message and no way to opt-out. When you press "2" you reach an operator.
Legislation in 2009 requires people to be able to opt-out of recorded messages.- Caller: Account Services
- max843Last week I began receiving similar calls from three different numbers, two of them asking for persons I don't know.
I, too, am on the Do Not Call list but now pay $6.95/month for Call Block from Verizon since the calls have not stopped in 2 1/2 years - even with a change of phone number.
(I only have one small credit card that I pay in full each month.) - NotFoolinMeSaid can lower my rates on Visa and MC. Foreign talking guy. Scam written all over it. I told my roommate to hit "RECORD" and he heard me and hung up. LOL!
- Caller: SCAMMER
