After two rings it left a message which began mid-sentence telling me to push 1 to talk with a live operator about lowering my interest rate.  The message said this was my last chance to do so. I wish I could believe it was the last time this scammer will try to call me.

I got a call today from this number (and several other days), this time I rode it out to find out who they were.  They told me the same as others - that they were a master agent over Visa and Mastercard accounts, and they were calling those that paid on time for the last 6 months and were not over limit.  They asked if I still had about $3500 on my cards, which wasn't even close to my amounts.  I said no, and they just hung up - nothing else said.

I just received the call from 202-459-7122 that everyone here complains about. The recorded message was from "Diane (?) from account services" who offered to lower my interest rates if I press 1, or to no longer receive further calls if I press 2. I hung up.

Nothing. They hung up on me.

Phone rang...I answered...no response.
When i have the time i sometimes will play along with these scammers just to waste their time. after about 3 minutes they figure it out and hang up.

09/01/09 -5:01PM. I just received a call from 202-459-7122.I am on the DO NOT CALL list. I picked it up and the automated system talked about lowering my interest rate on my credit card.In the end of the message I had two options to choose from: press 1 - for lowering interest rate or press - 2 for terminate the call.I pressed 2.In less than 1second live voice said "My name is Lisa I am with credit card service".Then questions about amount on my credit card balance(which I never had).I asked which bank,she said: "Bank of America".I asked her for 4 last digits on CD,she said she is not authorized to provide me this information.When I told her that I have no balance,she hang up.

Recorded message, female voice, left voicemail about my 'credit card account' but failed to use my name or reference an actual account. Real credit card companies know my name (duh!), so this was a dead giveaway.

Scam for sure! These guys are getting more aggressive as the economy tanks.

Wasn't home when the call came in. The caller ID said (WASH DC CALL)
No message... So I turned to the internet and here I am
Anyone that is important would leave a message - My guess is they want a live body to scam really quick & run with the money.

I'm starting to hate the Phone ~ I get 5 - 10 [***] calls every day.

Same answering machine message as all the rest, however now the number just comes up on the Caller ID as Unavailable. Probably Diane Yentel who had this number years ago, caught wind and filed a complaint.

Received call from 202-459-7122 on 9/2/09 at 8:32am Central with caller ID of "Cell Phone DC".  I didn't pick up the phone in time.  A voicemail message was left, but it was just silence.  I tried to call back "The subscriber you have dialed is not in service.  If you feel you've received this message in error hang up and try your call again. Message DC91856"

Then you get a male real person who wants your pesonal info. Each time I pressed for the card number or the guys name or the name of the bank that issued the card.... both times they hg up.

Got a call from this phone number and it was of course a scam. i thought the new laws would stop these things i think are called robocalls.  When tried to call the nubmer back of course the number is not in service.

I got a recorded message saying they were from Cardholder Services.  Press One to lower your interest rate.  I pressed One and asked who they were.  They said Cardholder Services, you know, Visa and Mastercard.  Couldn't tell me which card and she had a heavy Indian (?) accent.  When I said I am on the no call list, they hung up.

Hung up.  Got information on the call here.  When I tried to call back (I wanted to vent a little) message said "the subscriber you have dialed is not in service".  Scam scam scam.  I though computer generated calls were going to become illegal?  I would love to report this to somebody, thanks for the number, Jim

I wish there was a way for the people who are on the do not call list to be able to sue or file a legal complaint, other than www.donotcall.gov .  If the business are ever actually investigated and fined who gets the cash, the annoyed call recipients who have had their rights violated?  No.  The system needs to change and we should be compensated for our time and they should be punished for flagrantly violating the law.
