    DOESN'T MATTER
Also had this idiot call our business, the line was very choppy so couldn't make out a lot of the details but hearing moaning, groaning, some threatening and sexual comments, kept calling for about a half hour, the phone was so choppy couldn't make him out half the time, can't even do a prank call right, total loser.

sorry, not from washington dc, that is just the SKYPE caller ID number for anyone making a call through SKYPE (just read the first few pages here now) so the idiot(s) could be from anywhere and much more than one idiot abusing SKYPE... SKYPE will have to fix their policy before this gets out of hand.

I had already programmed this # into my cell phone as a "Do Not Answer" when it comes in ( at this point I have 71 "Do Not Answer numbers) however, today an American Soldier stationed in Iraq tried to reach my business multiple times and this is the number it was coming in on.

Naturally, I wasn't answering. He finally had to call on another number and he got through since it didn't come up as a "Do Not Answer" call on my cell caller I.D.

He was legit. Apparently, the number isn't. Numbers overseas must get processed through this 202 number. Can't surmise that because he's U.S. Army and the area code is Washington, D.C. there is any connection, but I believe that specific number is not the originating source

Caller said his grandfather just died and he needed to tell his father who was at our establishment.  This is the second call from this number this week.  This is obviously a very sick individual who has nothing better to do with him time.  He should grow up.

This person called our place of business around fifty times. From this number and private numbers. Initally was rude and verbally abisive. I was more annoying that people have nothing to do with their lives that they find it amusing to crank calls.

Got a call today, went to voicemail, didn't leave message... small mercy! Skype could track IPs and ban these people, couldn't they?

When I call my own 800 number using Skype the call is forwarded to my Sprint PCS telephone. If I leave a message for myself, Sprint PCS records the incoming telephone call as being from 202-580-8000 - the Skype "common" number as described in other posts about this number. There is no clue that the call received by my Sprint account originated from a call made to my 800 number.

In this case, the use of Skype is making the call origin less traceable - though Skype itself undoubtedly can trace it or assist in tracing it should that be necessary.

I live in Hamilton and our business 800 number recieved a number of calls today from 916-233-0467 and 202-580-8200 - the background was very noisy and it was impossible to tell is there was someone on the other end of the phone. I have been kicking them to voicemail.

The number is for a calling card services. The calls aren't coming from the same person, the only thing they have in common is they are using the same brand of calling cards.

    PLEASE BE AWARE!!!
this number is also a hub type number used by many companies through a internet phone connection program called "scipe-net" (not completely sure of the spelling). This program allows for international and long distant calls for VERY cheap prices, our company even uses it for intn'l calls to save $$$. Problem is you could end up getting calls from just about anyone from anywhere but the same exact phone number pops up most of the time.
