Just got off the phone from these scumbags. As soon as he said the call was from Microsoft and it was about my Windows operating system I knew it was a scam. I told him there was no way he worked for Microsoft and hung up without giving him a chance to answer. What a bunch of irritating idiots

Every day for the last couple weeks I get a call from this number ... simply harassment.  Never a message left.  When I have picked up the phone there is silence and then a recording that simply says "Goodbye" and then disconnects.

Guy called last night 9 pm on a Thursday claiming he was from a Microtech Services named Charles Lamb when asked.  Said my computer had been infected and wanted to help.  I asked him how he knew my computer was infected and said they monitor systems all around the world.  BS!!!!  I said to him, are you telling me that my computer is infected and you know that for a fact and you want to help me or are you trying to sell me something?  I asked him for his phone number so I could clarify the problem with our IT Manager (not) and I'd call him back once I knew he was legit.  So he proceeded to give me a 9 digit number.   I asked him why he gave me an incomplete number and he asked how many digits he gave me and I said NINE...which is not a complete number!  He just hung up on me.  The guy had an indian accent.

I, too,in Ontario, have got calls from this number---but all I hear is a whispered "Good-bye"--which begins to be upsetting to a senior living alone. I found this page purely by accident. Somehow it feels less scarey knowing it is not me only being targeted.

The law prohibits anyone calling to solicit you.  How can these jerks be shut down???  They should also be charged with their disgusting and explicit language when they finally figure out you're onto them.

A big thanks, jeleme417, for contacting Microsoft security.  You'd think that after all the times they've called that they'd have their own way of flagging those numbers of potential "victims" that are on to their shenanigans.  I'd like to go to India or Pakistan or wherever they're calling from and drop a bomb on them.

206-456-0661 is calling me in Ontario Canada about 3 to 4 times a week. The difference is nobody answers when I say hello. I even let it go to the answering machine, but no response. What really ticks me off is Bell says they can block this number......for an additional $5 a month.

Have been recieving these calls for a while. have this number listed as "Scam Tech Support" in my cell. I always answer them with "Thank you for calling Microsoft Fraud help line, how may I help you?"

If this isn't to your liking, you can ask them to call you back on your "other line" then give  (866) 587-1775 for microsoft tech support.

Same exact thing happened to me today. They said they were from "Micro Tech Solution" and were aligned with the "Windows Service Center". Caller ID listed the Seattle number everyone here has given 206-456-0661, but "Kenny" told me their company was in Utah. Then I asked Kenny if he was in another country besides their "Utah" headquarters and he said yes.

Basically, I questioned them a lot and "Kenny" referred me to his "supervisor" because Kenny said he was new and couldn't answer all my questions. Mr. Supervisor hung up after my questions got too hard for him to answer.

However lame this is, to the person above who wants to drop the bomb on the caller in Pakistan or India, I guess you're just saying you'd like to. But I still find that kind of talk offensive. I understand being angry about being scammed. But that kind of language incites the kind of "group think" that I believe helps perpetuate a culture of prejudice and reactive aggression. Not cool IMHO. Words do matter, online and off.

    Cheers.

Just wanted to add they call my line repeatedly also. Today was first time they tried to say anything. Usually they hang up. But today I got the whole spiel.

Also, there is background noise as if they are calling from a busy call center. Either they are, or that is just a sound effect to make them seem more legit.

Got the same call from "mack" the microsoft windows representitive who is not very fluent in english.  Wow, with the job market being so poor these days, it's nice to know a large corporation is hiring honest hard working individuals with communication skill similiar to a monkey.
Anyhoo, enjoyed myself, led him along for a while and then preceeding to use very offensive racial comments to describe him and his children. hey... theyre only trying to scam me and potentially effect mine and my childrens lives....feel 100% justified in using the most vile language to ridicule him.  Don't think he enjoyed me basking in the idea that he and his worthless children are god's diarrhea.  It was GREAT!!!

Was out for the evening and returned home very late to find the number on my phone.  No message from it, and when I tried to call it back, got a real funny busy type signal.  They called at 11:47 PM.  They had called me previously with the "we are from Microsoft" scam.  I live near Seattle and know that MSFT doesn't make phone calls like that!  I was in my car that time and told her I wasn't near my computer.

Is there no way to shut these people down?  Looks like lots of us are skeptical but makes me wonder how many people aren't as savvy and give them access.
