A guy with a heavy indian accent called wanting me to start up my computer so he could find out why there were so many viruses on it.  He then told me that 25% of the hard-drive was corrupt and my computer could die at any time...oh no...lol.

SCAM SCAM SCAM...I told him half way through the call was being recorded for the police, at which point he started swearing up a storm.  What a piece of garbage this person is.  Karma will find this guy real quick.  I'm sorry but people aren't that stupid these days.  If you are, let this be a lesson to you.

So now they have taken it to a new low!Now there are swearing at me and threating me and my family these people need to be stopped!If anyone has a was of finding them plz let me know and i will PAY THEM A VISIT!

All of the above applies to my comment, but with the phone call a few minutes ago they threatened to come to my home, inflict injury, and all kinds of stuff incould barely understandable.

Geez man, that's quite rude.  I for one wouldn't fall for this scam, yet imagine your grandmother who didn't grow up with computers, or those that aren't computer savvy.  Believe it or not, you're not an idiot if you fall for this scam.  Let me guess, you're too young to remember when computers didn't exist.  

I got a call from this number tonight, yet they didn't leave a message.

Got a call from this nr. today afternoon claiming to be from Microsoft. the guy with Indian accent told me my computer is sending microsoft windows error messages. He asked me to turn on the computer to fix the problem. I smelled the scam, and told him  I have only Mac.  The guy hung up!!

I received 5 calls from 206-456-0661 today, 1/27/2012.  I answered the first call and no one spoke on the other end.  Because my close friend in Washington is expecting her first child any day now, I called the number back.  It was a recording of a woman's voice (no accent) stating that she was calling from the Federal Trade Commission and I was "probably calling this number due to an email I received" and  that my accounts have been accessed by a third party.  I hung up at that point.  The first call came in around 10am; I received 4 additional calls by 3pm.

I'm a computer tech who knew better than to fall for this.  The caller told me they were fro Microsoft and they were receiving error messages from my computer and wanted me to go on to my computer so they could show me how to fix it.  

Definately a scam.

Yes they callled me several times in the past few weeks and have not gotten the point, lastest was last night 5 times in 1 min from the 206 number a new one for me as the others were 9999100103. I am going to forward these numbers to AT&T and se where it goes from there. #1 key for me it was a scam was the guy could not tell me what computer i have.

They just called me as well.  I reported it at the FBI website.  I suggest you do the same.  The call broke down quickly with cussing from them and threats.

Got a call a few minutes ago. Long pause and then a recording of a Woman's voice said "Good-Bye". I called the call display number back on Google Phone. It connected with the Fedral Trade Comission and was a recorded message about watching for phishing from Jennifer Leech. May or may not be legitimate, as the scammers probably faked the caller ID. Since we're on the Canada do not call list I filed a complaint there.

My best bit of fun with these jamoaks. The call was listed as "Unassigned" on my caller ID so I put on my best "Forrest Gump" when answering.
"Hel-lo?"
"Yes shis is Microsoft calling to fix Windows on your computer for you."
"My computer doesn't have any Windows but it has a TV screen."
"No, you have Windows on your computer which makes it work, and we need to fix your Windows."
"Like I told you, my computer ain't got any Windows. I just have a TV set that has a white apple below where I watch things on the screen..."
"What? You have an Apple computer?"
"No mam, I don't know what kind of computer but I play Pac-Man on it..."
"You bas...." She hung up in mid-word.

This morning I got a call from the same number. I said "Hello" twice then a prerecorded voice said "goodbye." I think they need to fix their own computers.

About 7 mins ago this same thing happened to me. I said I only had macs and he hung up. I'm in the NYC area

Expecting a scam (from previous calls from this area code), I answered the phone. Said they were IT Global and that my computer was infected... yada yada. I said it was my son's computer and could I get a number to call them back. They gave me 315-633-4050 (Guy's name was Andy Davis... with a strong accent). Used Google phone to call the number and found it connected to a company phone (probably forwarded to Asia) and "Shane" answered. I played dumb and said I already signed up and was wondering what was up. He asked if my name was Noel (it's not). I said yes, and he said that they were working on the problem on my computer right now (By the way, Noel... you got scammed! Hopefully they don't get anything off you before you realize it!!!!). I fished a little more and he said they were in New York (which would match the area code) and then thanked him and hung up. I reported this to the do not call and Scam busters.

I have received a few calls today from this number and decided to google the number.  They don't leave a message.

just got a call from 206-456-0661.  geez, how stupid do they think you are?  anyway, i hung up and called back to check, and received a message from the FTC saying this was a phishing expedition.  good for them!  the FTC has already got this number on their radar.....

same story.  Called saying they were from microsoft.  I figured it was a scam so I told the guy I didn't believe him and hung up.  besides why would a US phone number be calling me in Canada.

(206)456-0661 called me at 8:28 am and was very persistent, saying he works for Windows. Indian accent guy told me I have been ignoring the warning messages from Windows and my computer will crash today if I don't get in front of it and do what he says. After questioning him a bit, he eventually said "Fine then! Dis..dis..disconnect!" and hung up. PS- I live in Canada.

Phone rang, number came up on display, didn't pick up receiver.  Assumed it was call centre, some kind of scam.
