someone called me sounding like it was an emergency and my computer was going to crash unless I give them $125 to have them fix my Microsoft software from being hacked, he eventually wanted my facebook id so he could be friend me...I gave false information and hung up.....how stupid do they think I am.  He also said he was calling from New York....hahaha

I received my first call from 206-456-0661 in Dec. 2011. The gentleman had a heavy Pakistani or Indian accent and he said that he was from Microsoft and that I had viruses on my computer and they had to be removed or my computer was going to crash.They sent me an online application to fill out with my information including my visa number.They said to leave my computer for  an hour and come back and the viruses would be gone and everything would be good.They now had my visa number so I phoned visa and thank God the transaction was declined so they didn't get any money.They called me back the next day and I told them I was calling the police.He sat on my phone for at least 20 minutes.I've received several more calls from that same number since then .I received 2 calls just yesterday(Feb.3,2012) .The first call was received at 9:43 my time .He said I'm Roger I'm phoning you because back in Dec. last year we did some work on your computer but your visa card was declined so we didn't get any money. You owe us $149.00 .I said I know this is a scam and you are not getting any money from me he then went on to say he would take it out of my bank account,my reply to was you can't do that he said watch and see.Then I received a second call because they realized they couldn't get money from bank account . The second call came in at 12:19 our time .I said go to hell and I hung up .I'm sure I will receive another call from them sometime soon.Please I'm warning everyone out there if you receive a call from this number just hang up it's a scam .We all know that Microsoft doesn't have time to call anybody about this sort of thing nor would they .I live in Calgary,Alberta .So how are they getting our phone numbers.

They just called us.  same Scam crap...  I told him I don't have a computer or laptop and he said good day and hung up...Caller beware!

Called 10 times today to tell me my computer was sending out bogas messages to micro soft.If  I had a problem why don't they drop me a e-mail???? hugh sounds fishy to me . getting tired of looking at the caller id.

I just got a call from that number also. But My computer is messed up so I think I had him a little confused. He just kept saying No! No! go to your main screen close all of your applications. I said I CANT EVEN TURN THE DAMN THING ON! He said," No no go to the main screen close all your applications. So I hung up

I palyed with this guy.,Had a good time kept telling I couldn't find this or it doesn't come up on my screen right until he said I need to download got to my pc. I told him I already have that ,he got real ecited telling me what he was goin to do and than I dropped the bomb,,,I said "Do You think that will work with Linux?? he stuttered wha,,wha yu say?? ( ya ever hear and easian anccent stutter,,,hah,, should of recorded it) For those who are savy you can have some fun with these jerks.

I just had the same phone call  ..... funny, they don't speak French.
When I heard the «clic» and that Indian accent at the other end of the line, I started speaking French. They hang up rrrrreal fast!

I also get these phone calls all the time.

Called me in BC several times. When I answered, the same story: Microsoft, in a foreign accent. Aksed her to give me a number where I could call her back, ans he gave me something starting with 42 (or 43?). Asked her where she was calling from, and she hung up.

The number called me claiming to be from college now, saying I qualify for a free Dell laptop if I answered some questions. Oh, and they claimed to be from a government agency. I pissed them off so bad, they threatened to kill me. I just mimicked questions people would ask me during my brief time working as tech support.

I got this one while I was gone for a few days. I've also started receiving the 212 777 3456 crap too in the last two weeks. The funny thing (well not so funny, I guess) is I live in Canada and know few people in the US, so I immediately knew it was a problem. I guess they'll try anything. Just don't answer.

I received a call from 206-456-0661.  They claimed to be from Microsoft and that my computer was infected.  The caller had a heavy Indian or Pakistani accent so I had to ask him to repeat what he was saying many times.  I figured it was a scam so I googled the umber and found this message board.

My father got a call on his land line of someone looking for me from this 206-456-0661 number. I have never provided my father's number as my own. I don't have a land line and they haven't called me on my mobile. I would just like to know how they got my name and don't have a phone number for me... and I don't use my PC anymore... I have a macbook! HA!  Can't wait until I get a hold of them!

I even used call blocking service from Verizon, and they still got through to me.  Ugh, how to stop the creeps?

7:00 a.m.. The caller  mumbled   a name.Then he said he was going to fix my windows program on my computer. I told him "DO NOT CALL HERE AGAIN  and hung up. Unsolicited calls seem to have increased even though we are on do not call list.

I am in Toronto and I just received a call from this number. The man spoke with an accent and was quite rude. He told me he was calling from Microsoft in Miami ( from a Seattle number...yeah right) and he wanted information from my computer to help me with my error messages. When I insisted on asking how he obtained this information, he hung up on me.

I can't believe people are still doing this mess. What a jerk.

Indian guy on the phone saying he was from Microsoft and wanted to review errors on my PC as windows 7 had sent many reports to them lately.  I asked which computer as I have several was sending the message he could not give me the computer name. I asked if he could tell me which licence of windows was sending the error codes and he could not giving many reasons why which were not true.  I knew it was a scam but played along for a minute to see where this was going.  He wanted remote access to my desktop using www.showmypc.com.  It is a remote desktop tool not owned by microsoft... I hung up.

FYI...  Microsoft windows has built in tools so there actual administrators and support staff can remotely view without going to a thrid party application.
