He inquired about my craigslist ad, I replied for him to send his phone number only and I got this SCAMMER email back....the last line he typed is pretty desperate for this scammer.......

I just got an email with the exact wording from these emails.  I am so glad you have this posted.  I was just about to give him details about where I am.....Yikes!

Selling rims on craigs list, got the same letter as above, different E-mail.

Huge Scam, also getting phone calls from 210 area code, for credit card lower interest rates.  asking for all credit card # and what credit limit is and if any available.  Another huge scam...Beware !

This person is still at it!  I just got mail from "it" in response to a craigslist ad.

This is the e-mail i got yesterday the day after i posted it on craigs list. Really sucks that this guy is still able to do this. He needs to be stopped !!

I got the same email.  I know this scam and I'm wondering if there is a way to outsmart them because it is a pretty lame scam and I think people doing it are not that bright.

What they do is send a bad cashiers check for more than the amount saying it was a mistake.  They tell you to take out your amount and send them the difference. If your bank cashes it, they will come after you for the money when it doesn't clear.

On this one, I'm going to tell him to send his person with cash and I'm leaving the ad up until I get payment. :)

posted a catalytic converter for $100. got a response from a guy with this number saying he's deaf and he'll get my phone messages by text. he said he'll send a person to pick it up and a certified draft to cover the cost. asked for my name, home address and mobile number...haha...like I'm that stupid I'm south of houston, his phone's area code seems to be from san antonio.

Just posted a few seconds ago. I got that same email from a few posts up...

He/She sent me an email as well. All the wording is the exact same as other people's comments.

I just got the identical repsonse to a craigslist a few minutes ago in Oklahoma. Identical to the above post. This is November 2009.

The craigslist mail was scrambled for my protection.
This e-mail post was almost immediately after I posted - Boise Idaho

Curious- Did everyone have "rims" for sale? reading the history it looks that way... I did.

So I gave him the address of our police station in town as well as the Det of Special Tasks. This should be interesting.

hi, i got one of these responses to a craigslist listing, actually i have gotten a few.  I always play along and try to get them to overnight me a fake check so it costs them 20-25 $ to send it.  I always tell them the check got lost or damaged and try then to get then to spend another $20 to overnight another.  I have 8 fake checks for thousands of dollary on my bulletin board.  WHat fun!  F**K with the scammers!
