This same person wanted to purchase something from me multiple times using different names. DO NOT SELL ANYTHING TO JUST ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!! DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! I was so close to selling and I trusted my gut and what do you know found this site and all these wonderful people reporting the same problem! Thank you everyone!!

I was contact by the same guy a few days ago. He called on a CL for sale ad I had.  He wanted to purchase the item and have me sent it right away.  He asked that I use PAYPAL.  I said fine,  I have an account.  I called Paypal to let them know something was fishy with this deal.  They said this happens all the time.  I received confirmation from a fake PAYPAL account that the funds arrived.  I called PAYPAL back and they said according to their records, no funds have arrive on my behalf.  He gose by George Morrissette and the following information is what he gave me:

George Morrissette:  31993 Leatherwood Rd.  Quaker City, Ohio 43773 (fake address)

He told me to send the item to his brother:
Alajeda Howard 1550 N Fort Valley Road Apartment 19 Flagstaff, Arizona,86001

He called me from:  234 803 837 4783 (very strong middle east or Nigerian accent)

He will be caught!  I am working on it.  Proper authorities have been notified and they say he will be brought up on fraud charges.  PAYPAL, Yahoo, AOL and Gmail have also been contacted to find him.  I have his IP address and his location has been reported.  He tried to scam the wrong person here.

YEAAaa, so I totally fell for this and now he has my hoome address and cell number what do I do????  I feel like a total asssssssssssssssss.  Any advice???

Liz, I got the EXACT SAME email from "Valeria"!  Luckily did not finalize the sale.  For those of you who have encountered this jerk already, is there any chance of being contacted if you provided address and phone number?

he is trying to finish the deal with me , im still in contact with him. i sent him an invoice for 2000.00 he says he sent 2500,00 and that i need to western union his shipping company 500.00  he sent the name and address of the shipping company. he thinks im going to send him back 500.00 he is deranged.

Hey Dave, what happened with this? I just got fooled by this scam this past week (I feel like an idiot, but I've never sold anything on Craigslist or anywhere else for that matter) and they sent me a check for nearly $3,000 which they claimed was a mistake (I was selling something on Craigslist for a lot less than that). They asked if I would send the difference back to their "mover" via Western Union, and when I Googled the address it didn't exist in the city they wanted it sent to. I'm trying to figure out what exactly they are trying to do here. Are they phishing for info or are they doing some sort of money laundering scheme? The check they sent me was from a company (Googled it and it was from a real business).
