    Mr. P
Here's how you handle these guys... when you pick up the phone and there's the typical five second delay, just keep sayong hello even when the person at the other end is talking. When they ask if this is "so and so" just say I think so. When they ask you another question, wait five or ten seconds then respond. If they go int oa long winded scripted sales pitch, listen to it for abbout 15 seconds than say "hello...?". If they respond, reply.. "sorry, I had to pich something up off the floor, could you start over?. If they do, listen for 15-20 seconds again and then ask to be excused for some other chore like checking letting in the cat or dog. If they are still there when you get back, have them pick up where they left off but, ask again who they are.

Play this kind of verbal cat and mouse for a while and they will more than likely hang up and move on the the next auto dial not on the DNC list. Keeping them busy will only take two minutes or less because once they stop hearing you say "yes", they know you aren't going to buy into whatever they are selling.

Another winning stunt is have a radio or TV turned up loud in the background and ask your kids to cry bloody murder. When the telemarketer hears the commotion, they know they are wasting their time.

For the bold at heart..... listen the the pitch for a few seconds then say with a panicy voice... "I think I may have just killed someone!" Work up a good story like you think the jogger you hit and run with your SUV only minutes before may have died from his injuries. (alternate storyline.. you ran over your neighbor's dog and are very disdraught.)

I answered and said Hello several times but maybe it didn't register on the other end.  No one said anything, and whoever and whatever just hung up on the other end.  I am on the Do Not Call list and have been for months. What's the point of signing up when telemarketers are just going to disregard it? I plan on keeping track, times and dates.  Maybe there'll be some place to report them.

I have answered a call from this number.  It is the local newspaper ad for home subscription - it seems they all use the same tele-marketer.

I called and got through and asked for Timothy Schmidt. He was unavailable but the regional supervisor took the call. I informed her that they needed to remove my number and that all my phone records were being forwarded to the attorney general's office in Washington State. They are in clear violation of the law since I show some 213 phone calls since first requesting that my number be removed.

They call me at least once a day and it's getting entirely too annoying.  I never answer it, and they never leave a number.  Any way to get them to stop calling?

This number also calls me twice a day and has for several months. They never say anything or when I answer, they hang up... I would love to stick my size 11 shoe where the sun does not shine with these people. Is there not a federal law that we can enforce?? Does anyone know? Electric shock via the phone line... Now that would be worth taking the call. lol

I worked at WestPark Direct for about four months when I lived on the Westside of Cleveland. They use to be in Lakewood, Ohio a suburb of Cleveland now I hear they have moved to Cleveland. It's basically one step above a boiling room operation. They hire any and everybody, no screening whatsovever and the pay is low. They contract to sell newspapers but only have a couple of large city papers under contract; most of the papers called are located in small cities. Payment is either invoice, check-by-phone or credit/debit card. And yes, fraud has been committed by some employees at WPD. Their automated dialer is fraud and has been known to call people five or more times a day and at all times of night. Why WPD hasn't been sued silly is a mystery.

My work in Missouri just got new phonelines and new numbers.  I have 12 missed calls from this number in the past 7 days.  4 of the calls were in ONE of those days.  All the calls have been on a weekend or after 7pm, so I'm not at work and have never been able to answer.
