My boyfriend has had this text twice now, and oddly, he was expecting an international parcel! And since we didn't know which carrier the company were going to use we might have been fooled. It was the !! URGENT !! that gave it away.  I mean, whoever heard of a courier being that bothered about your parcel? ;-)

Quick check on the website we ordered from confirmed they haven't yet sent the parcel and we didn't call or text the number, but when I was in the Post Office the other day there was a sign about a similar scam which said you should contact their fraud department or offcom and let them know as they can investigate the fraud.

Weird how they seem to know who's expecting a parcel...

Didnt reply as have heard of this scam before!

Got msg saying large international parcel awaiting delivery,I am waiting for a parcel from the US so thought nothing about calling it,i confirmed my mob no. after i thought how odd it was that they asked me to confirm my no when they had already contacted me on it-stupid me! I've checked with orange and the call cost me a fiver. they advised me to change my no aswell. that cost 10 quid! what a waste of money! DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER!

Hi,  received  the following text message..."Urgent Large Parcel Awaiting delivery, please call now on 0023222270680 for delivery tomorrow 2 zero's are required to call international parcel deliveries. This has been sent to me on 3 seperate occastions and I have ignored all of the text messages, this must be a scam as I'm not awaiting a delivery and this is an international dialing code.  Any reputable company would  give a web address to contact them and would not expect you to dial an expensive international code in Africa!!

25 Oct 08 received a text from the number asking me to call re a large parcel delivery, asked me to call +23222270682 ignored text however todya received same text from different number +447876250433 askingme to call 0023222270680, like the first I ignored it.  How did they get my number?  Been with O2 for 8+years on PAYG on same number!!!!

Hi got this tex on sunday morning at 0636am saying urgent large parcel awaiting delivery this number .Same scam as all reported

same thing happened to me? stange thing is i am waiting for a package delivery
glad i checked this out, i suspect some employees of the email delivery firms are in on this scam.

Text Message Scam — Urgent Parcel Delivery



Please be aware that there is a text message scam currently underway that

XXXX customers may be targeted by.



The details of the scam are as follows:



Customer receives a text from 07909645346

which reads:

‘Urgent large parcel awaiting delivery please call now on +23222270680 for delivery tomorrow’



Customer calls 23222270680 and is charged a premium rate



Should a customer call in regarding the scam follow the usual protocol for premium rate/ short code numbers and advise the customer that CPW cannot refund any charges relating from this scam.

Just had the same message as every one above. Will not be calling it!!!!!!!
