Came in from a UK mobile number +447833996673 but heard it comes in from other mobiles too and that the +232... call-back number is in Sierra Leone!
DO NOT CALL THEM EVEN IF YOU ARE WAITING FOR A PARCEL - IT'S AN EXPENSIVE PHONE SCAM

Hi, i received the same text and i also was waiting for an international delivery - spoke to orange nothing they can do but they have confirmed that my mobile account balance is already 1-£ over the limit and the bill snot due until the 15/12!! Hahaha lovely christmas present, i'll be skint!! I wont be ringing any stupid numbers like that again. They ask you to enter your mobile number to confirm the consignment and then read the number back to you, but they tell you an incorrect number to keep you on the line longer. I figured out that if you enter the number in that they say is wrong ie: 5 instead of 4 then it reads it back right, probably charges you even more though!!!!! It did say the delivery would be delivered and gave consignment number etc. I'm so disappointed in myself for falling for it. Have contacted lots of different organisations and no-one can help - i was just told to report it to the police - not sure it'd be top of their list to be honest. Be very wary of any suspicious texts.

Rather sadly I AM expecting a "large parcel" delivery.  HOWEVER I am expecting it abroad and that really messed things up for me because I contacted the rather unresponsive seller in a panic.  Fortunately "tomorrow" would be Sunday and I am NOT phoning Sierra Leone whatever day of the week it is, so at least I didn't fall for it hard enough to contact the "courier" scammer.

Searches on my particular Sierra Leone number did not reveal much.  Searches on the number I received the text from even less.  I found this by Googling "Sierra Leone Urgent Parcel Delivery Scam".

Yes, it is a SCAM.

What a shame they can get people's mobiles and work this.  Hope that I can somehow help make these numbers bring up a warning for the next unsuspecting person:

I wish I had free texts because I'd be tempted to text back, purporting to be MI5 or someone like that and telling them that "we" have them under observation and are monitoring their actions.  You know "a la Spooks" and jam up their phone with incoming texts...  LOL!  What fun to get one's own back on them when the police etc cannot be bothered!

Scammers of any kind have it far too easy here in the UK.

same ere! I been entering lots of comps soooo I thought I might have won a prize! didllysquat! Is it possible to get your money back from the phone operator? I think that if the operators have charged you for the calls made and it was a scam that was regardless known or unknown to them, they have in effect obtained monies by deception! Put simply FRAUD. I'm to to sure on the severity of punishment for the phone operators to allow this to happen but if they just refund the people there money back that'll be o'k and to protect there customers in future! It would also be a good idea for them to recoup there losses from those doing the scams.

Can you suggest that NO ONE phones them (either on their mobiles or, obviously, in Sierra Leone) and everyone contacts Watchdog:

As you have probs guessed now its a scam - Please ensure any number you dont know then google as you will always find out what and where the number is from. Also contact the police and your network provider. These will never be stopped as there are many of them. This is organised crime which pays for drugs etc.

The only way to combat it is not to fall for it then it will fade away, however there is always 1 born every minute.

Lets hope they get shot or killed one day :0)

I received a text from this number informing me that there was a large parcel waiting for delivery from International Parcel Deliveries and I must call this number for further information.

Got a text message today from 07884445051 with the following:
"URGENT!! Large Parcel awaiting delivery Please call now on +232 222 70680 For Delivery tomorrow International Parcel Deliveries"

The code is for Sierra Leone very dodgy! Not calling back!

Got the same call, ran for a couple rings then hung up.  Then within a couple of seconds i got a text message to call for delivery of an international parcel, not expecting anything i googled the number and found this.  

I expect this is a scam and worth letting friends and family know not to call the number.

yep i got the "internation urgent delivery" message, didnt reply, searched number and i found lots of websites saying it was a scam!

Wasn't expecting any parcel.  This is bogus.

Just got the exact same text 2 mins ago and googled it straight away lol
