On October 7th at 8:41pm someone from 301-882-9975 called and played Baroque style music in a voice message for over 1 min. 43 seconds.  Last week,  someone left the message posing as a police officer (no reference to a Department or State).  The week before that said only "I am coming to get you, just wait".  Keep the calls coming!!!  I am recording all of them.  I am recording all of them and letting my friends and family have copies too.  There is a serious law suit coming your way who ever owns 301-882-9975.  Threats, posing as a  LEO ....

They have been calling for months, several times a day. I sent them, via certified mail, a "drop dead letter." Receipt of the letter was confirmed for Monday, Oct 5. The calls have continued as before.

I am now reporting them to the FTC, State Atty General, American Collector's Association and local Bar Association, as indicated in my letter to them.

Call and leave no message.  I never answer I am unfamiliar with.  How do you black certain #s from entering?

Got a call from them this morning (10/16). They left the following recorded message: "Hello, this message is for 'MY NAME'. Please call the law offices of Mann Bracken, a debt collector at 866-213-6602. Thank you." I am sending a cease and desist letter today. Does anyone know if they did anything illegal?

Somebody from 301-882-9975 keeps calling. I delete the calls with out answering. Is anybody going to do something about this??

Who is this and why do they not leave messages if they are going to call a gazilla times a day?

I've been getting the same calls from these people.  I finally called them back and they looked up my phone number and asked if my name was Eva. I told them no.  Here it just so happened, that they were looking for my ex-mother-in-law. I asked how they got my number with her name attached to it because she lives hours from me. They told me that she gave them my phone number back in 2001 but I've only had that phone number since 2003. They said that if I give them her phone number they would take me off their list. I'm not giving them her phone number. I looked up Mann Bracken on the Better Business Bureau website and there are 4 law firms within the United States but none of them are linked to this phone number. I read that some people are getting phone calls very early in the morning or very late at night and on Sundays. If this is a real debt collector (which I don't think they are) they are NOT allowed to call you before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. unless you agree.  Here is some information I found on the BBB website:

Collection Agencies
Are you behind or late on your debt obligations? Medical emergencies, loss of employment, unexpected changes in income or expenses, or living beyond our means can cause financial distress. Inevitably, when bills go unpaid, debt collectors come calling. When they do, you should know what is considered acceptable collection conduct.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requires that debt collectors treat those who have failed to repay their creditors in a fair manner. It prohibits abusive debt collection practices. The following debt collection practices are among those that are prohibited.

Debt Collectors may NOT:
*harass, oppress, abuse, or use threats of harm toward you or any third parties they contact;
*publish a list of consumers who refuse to pay their debts;
*Use obscene language or repeatedly use the telephone to annoy someone;
*Take or threaten to take your property unless this can be done legally.

They are also restricted in the statements they can make to debtors. They may NOT tell you that:
*you will be arrested if you do not pay your debt;
*they will seize, garnish, attach or sell your property or wages, unless the collection agency or creditor intends to do so and it is legal to do so;
*they will take actions, such as a lawsuit against you, when such action legally may not be taken, or when they do not intend to do so.

Finally, debt collectors may NOT:
*give false credit information about you to anyone;
*send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency when it is not;
*use a false name.

A debt collector IS permitted to contact you in person, by mail, phone, telegram or fax. However, he or she may not contact you at inconvenient times or places (such as before 8 am or after 9 pm) unless you agree. They may not contact your place of work if the collector knows that your employer disapproves of such contacts. You should inform the collector accordingly, in writing, to cease such actions. Keep in mind that this does not resolve the debt.

Correction to previous post: The number was 1-877-901-7987. Bud Hibbs' site discusses the "orchestrated bankruptcy" of AXIANT, "which was the formation of Mann Bracken, Wolpoff & Abramson and Eskanos & Adler."

I receive calls from them at least 2-3 times in a day. I have sent a validation letter which they have not replied to. I thought they would stop calling after that, but they didn't. They continue to call me and the frequency of the calls has increased. I heard others too are having trouble with this company. I received a call from Tiffany Carter who identified herself as an agent for a company called FRS a law firm representing capital one.  She was rude and aggressive.  She called me at work which is illegal.
