they called me today and ask for someone and when i said they didn't live here.  they guy got hostile and said he was with the attorney generals office and needed to be in contact with this person.  ask me again what my phone number was.  after telling him to remove my number from his list he said it might take a few days.

Its been like 2 weeks now since they started calling my house and they call everyday @10am then about 1pm on Sundays its always 7:30pm. They call asking for Catrina and get upset and hang up on me when they are told they have the wrong number. I have called them back so they can take me off the calling list which I shouldn't be on anyways since I don't have any business with them and Im on the do not call list. its been 2 days without a call so we will see.

This is a debt collection agency - they were looking for an ex-sister-in-law and got very hostile when we told them she had moved away 5 years ago and we had no idea where she was.  We told them to quit calling our home and told them we would report them to the Bar Association and they told us we could not do that - little did they know - we have friends in VERY high places and it is ILLEGAL for them to continue to call you once you tell them to stop calling.  You can report them (like good ole Texas boy said) to the do not call registry and they will investigate.  Best thing to do is tell them to remove your phone number from their list and not to call again - if they do - report them - and hang up. Of course - we told them a few other choice words, but they haven't called back since we told them to stop.

I have called them back two weeks ago, i gave them my last 4 ss to confirm I am not the person they are looking for. The phone call did stop for a week.

Surprised they called me back last week; I found out from cller id when I got home.

I am doing follow steps:

1. the registed to Nation Do Not Call won't help you, that is because Collectors are allowed to call you even you are registed.

2. You have to call them back to let they know that you are not the person who they are looking. You do need tell them your full name, address, phone number and your last 4 SS#.
Make sure you get the full name and his or her ext.# and your case number.
The most importment is making sure they enter your phone number 5 times. that is only way to remove you from their list otherwise the phone call will come back few days later.
Yes, even their stuff said it is very anouning to enter your phone number 5 times, but their computer system was set up as no one will just remove anyone away from list easily.

3. File a complian to FTC from Nation Do Not Call Website.

They will not stop calling people until you contact them, so if you don't own them money then spend 5 min. then you will get peace world.

4. if you are using digital phone (such as timewarner cable service), you can setup "anonymous call reject"; it is incluing in your regualar month fee already.

They are attorneys from Wolpoof and Abramson.  I think they are legit because they are collecting an old outstanding debt from me....I hope they are legit

This number is from Wolpoff & Abramson, their clients include LVNV Funding and other debt collection outfits who never know exactly whats owed by the alleged debtor. They often call people without any cause. If you were called more than once you are being recirculated through shared data bases that are because of their regenerative properties nearly impossible to purge. The number you are being called from is in Rockville Md. Try to be polite, curses and counter threats will no help. If you beleive you are a victim of harrasment you may want to call Victim Services - Montgomery County Montgomery County Sheriff's Department 50 Courthouse Square, Room T-8 Rockville, Md 20850 301-217-7000. You will eventually need to hire a lawyer and file a suit to collect damages

They have been calling here for a few weeks and I don't answer if I don't know who is calling.  They left message once about some debt for a company that went bankrupt here in TX years ago.  Haven't heard from anyone for 2+ years and now this company calls saying we owe them thousands!  I don't think so, we tried to find someone when they closed down and no contact info available.  These bums just scour and buy old debt and try to collect whatever they can - they try to get in arguements and scare money out of you.  DOn't be intinmidated.  Make them prove the debt.  We only had account with that company for one year and then they all closed down, that does not mean we owe them for 4 years like these people want to make it out to be.  No contract exists for this amount, only for one year which we paid for.  They are L-O-S-E-R-S!  File harrassment complaints.

I have been receiving phone calls from 301-882-9975 repeatedly and when I answered and said I wasn't the person they were looking for they hung up and the calls kept coming. I had the unfortunate pleasure of speaking with their customer service person, Natalie, who was extremely rude and would not connect me to her supervisor and hung up on me when I pressed to speak with someone other than her. I called the law firm at 1-800-850-0948 and pressed option 1 (option for wrong number being called) and spoke with Ms. Tyson who took my number and said they would remove it within 24 hours. I also reported Natalie and spoke with her supervisor, Ed Scrivener, who apologized to me and provided his number: 240-386-3382 and assured me the calls would stop and Natalie would be spoken with. Please call the office at the 800 number and/or speak with the supervisor Ed Scrivener to get these people to stop their illegal and rude practice.

Now they call and say things like it's a confidential message for so-and-so, and don't listen if you are not so-and-so. If you get a message like that-save it as evidence, might need to get an attorney and sue.
It seems illegal to me.

these people call 4x a day. starting at 8 in the morning until 8 at night!!!!!!!!!!!!
they only leave a message to call back and no real person is on the other line.

The number (301) 882-9975 has been calling my cell phone A LOT and when I called the number back it was a law firm that did not have my name on file and could not tell me why they were calling me.

Me too..these people do not stop calling all day and night I am going to take the advice from above comments here and report them to the do not call registery.

These people call my cell asking to speak with Allen White.  I do not answer calls on my cell that I do not recognize.  Their message goes into my voicemail using up my cell minutes.  I don't know anyone named Allen White. I've tried to call them back but the recording says if it is Allen White press 1, if Allen White is not at this number, press 2.  When I press 2 I get put on hold with muzak for a few minutes.  I end up hanging up since I am burning more of my cell minutes trying to get these people to stop calling my number.  I think this is some kind of scam; is there any way to get them to stop?

These people call all the time and for what I have no clue.  They call as early as 8:00 am.  You call their number back and all it says is, "thank you for calling, please hold for a representative."  What place of honorable business do you know that does not put their name on the phone tree.  It is all a bunch of garbage to me.

I received a call from 301-882-9975 at 2:40 PM today.  My Caller ID identified the number as coming from MANN BRACKEN, not Wolpoff & Abramson.  They may have changed their listing, but the leopard doesn't change its spots.

All good to know. They started calling me this week. I just got my cell number last month and no one has the number. I was getting local calls for the guy that had the number last. I guess it's time to change the number so I don't have to deal with this...

I received a call about 30 minutes ago. No message. This number has been reported on so many sites, it's astonishing.

Been receiving these calls for months now, several times a day and all hours of the day. Today I finally did a search on computer for this number and found this website and apparently I am not the only one receiving these annoying phone calls. Mine come up mann bracken 301-882-9975; never have spoken to them do not care to. ~Michigan

Changing your number will NOT  stop the calls - they use reverse lookup to find ALL phone numbers associated with your ADDRESS.

Got an address? Then they will keep on calling and calling calling and calling calling and calling calling and calling calling and calling calling and calling calling and calling calling and calling .......

They are relentless in their stupidity...
