Relentless calls being received from caller ID: 301-882-9975

I answer - either I hear "elevator music" or nothing. . .then a hangup.

They called said they were from a law firm of Mann Bracken or something like that.

I kept my old SPRINT phone and was given a new number for it. I use it only if I have houseguests without phone. The former owner of the number owes everybody money. I get all these harrassing calls from 1 301-882-9975. I don't owe anyone a dime. STOP calling !!!!!

This is a collection agency run under a law firm. The calls are computer generated starting as early a 8:30 am. The person calling is not a lawyer.

If you DON'T owe money that is subject to collection, call them and tell them to take your number off and if they do not, you WILL file a complaint with the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission (Make a note of the time and date of the conversation for the complaint and try to get the name of the person on the phone).  Here is the link:

Someone from this number calls my house several times everyday even on Sundays.  I have tried to return the call and no one ever answers.  I went as far as looking up the name assoicate with this number (Mann Bracken)on the internet.  There were many negative comments about this company.  i don't owe this company any money.  How do I get them to stop calling me?

This company is called "Mann Bracken" and they are a collection agency for companies like HSBC, Dell and Capital One.  Mostly located in Maryland and Tennessee

This number showed up on my caller Id MANN BRACKEN, when I answered the phone they asked for a guy by the name of Mike ???? I told them I didn't know him, they asked me where I could reach him, again I said I don't know him, they told me that they needed to get in touch with him, I told them good luck in finding him and told them to stop calling my house.  Are they just complete morons or what?

I get the same calls as stated above asking for a Dustin-with my last name. No relation nor do I know him. I told them this and to quit calling as this was telephonic harrasement and I will report them. All she kept saying was "what number are they calling" and "I said you called me and know what number you called me!"  I even called back and got no live voice and left a message with my name and number to Operator #60... to not call here again and I'm not related not do I know the person. They've found my last name and number listed and assume he's related and he's not! It's probaly not his real name, as I have an unusual-not common last name.  Though there are some with last name that I've heard of and they are no relation.

Same thing here. They called me again and again to my cell phone. When I called them back to ask them to stop, they asked me for my name and SSN!! "to look into their records". Of course I didn't give them my SSN. BEWARE! I told them I am on the national "do not call" list only to hear their calculated response: "That is only for marketers". I just filed a complaint with the do not call list, listing my previous conversations with them and the fact that they requested my SSN on the phone.

I just got a call on my cell and they hung up w/o a message so I googled.
San Francisco has sued them. See Wall street journsl law blog April 7th 2008, 5:23 AM ET.
They are arbitrators. The number is a Maryland number as others stated probably a call centercall. Headquarters

Someone keeps calling me from this number. They do not leave a message and when I answer no one says anything.

301 882 9975 call at 9a.m. saturday morning. thank you all for your comments. i know now not to answer.  since it was on my cel phone i saved the number as "unk" and set it up for no ring so i won't hear them when they call again except for an alerting beep afterward.

Have received two calls from this number. I called it back and was told it was some attorney's office. When I asked what they wanted they would not tell me then said they were going to transfer me to someone who could handle the call but could not do so. Then, gave me an 800 number that I did not call. This, with all the other comments listed, should not be taken as a legitimate call.

Calling at late hours.  Caller ID shows Mann Bracken???

Caller said they don't work days and needed to verify my personal information encluding socail security number.  A legitamite company would call back in the morning as requested or give me a number to call not tell me they only work nights.

They keep calling me as well.  Usually at least 1-4 times a day.  They've only left one message and actually sent me a letter about debt collection.  I called them back told them I was going through bankruptcy and I already informed the debtors I was with my lawyers info.  I gave them my lawyer's info as well.  Then they asked me all sorts of personal questions and I asked why they needed it.  They said they needed to update my information in their system.  I told them that would be limited to my address and phone number and not who my bank is or how often I get paid.  They left it at that and I hoped that they would stop calling but they haven't.  I've already informed my lawyer of this and given them the letter they sent me.  Hopefully they'll get them to stop harrassing me.
