This number has called me as well.  I called back and it goes directly to some guys vm.  I have decided to waste my time on evenings and weekends to leave the guy informative messages.  Such as I have been with his old lady while he is working.  Pure entertainment puposes only!

I hide my number and call them back and hang up.. it doesnt do anything, but it feels good..lol

Beware of phony collection agencies who have lists of bad debts from credit reporting agencies.  They will threaten to turn over your file to "the lawyers," telling you the lawyers can be most nasty.  To prevent this, you can just send in half what you owe and the rest will be forgiven.  Right. Whether this number is legit, I don't know.  A reverse look-up found it belonged to Core Communications in New Market, Maryland.

Called and woman asked for an unknown person. She kept trying ffor info and would't give me her name. I called backto the law office of Manbracken(?). I asked to get my # removed and was switched to several different "sides" but they didn't have my #. Then the guy just tried to get info from me. I hung up.

I get several calls a day/evening/weekends from this number.  It isn't the same person, just the same number.  They say they are a law firm.  I asked what it was about and they wanted all my personal info. When I wouldn't give it, he ended the call.  I looked the number up on 411.com and it doesn't exist.

My Mother Rose is 83 years old and she does NOT need This harassment! I am going to find out if they just pulled her name from a directory or how they received her phone number and am filing suit for harassment.

I get many calls from 301-882-9975. They claim to be a law office. There is no answer when I call back. They are looking for a Christy Martin. They have been calling for months.

Know your rights before EVER EVER  disclosing anything on the phone with people you have NO idea are legitimate or not.
How can we trust ANY company who uses even one shady or illegal tactic to extract information-- and know for sure they are legitimate-- I have seen many victims pay off a debt w/o gathering paper trails of validity of collection and then STILL have the same debt bc it was not legally paid off.  Same with SOME predatory type of lawyers-- they, if not honest, can tell you info to intimidate you to think you need to have them when sometimes their info is completely false to intimidate you as well. Again know what you are doing and research to death!!
Please, know what you are doing before you hand over any money or personal information!!
Settling for a fraction can be done by YOU as well as lawyers and consolidation forms and  you can barter to have theat written off as PIF...
Has a 3rd party collector ever sent you a written bill with the original creditor info on it?
Have they  after exhaustive threats etc.... ever sent anyone a certified  notice to appear in county court ( I don't think this case would go to SUPERIOR court unless it was  successfully appealed a few times after the origoinal case went to judgement!!)  This still does not mean this collection agency is valid-- in court they have to come up with that PV with your RIGINAL signature from the original creditor to collect any debt.
Have you ever asked for a certificate of validation ( proof of validity)
from the original creditor from thisa 3rd party colelction agency? If they hang up on you-- they are SHADY!!
Have you ASKED them to send anything to you in writing as far as a bill goes with any  CERTIFIED original creditor information?
Have you asked them to stop calling or you will record the session and send to the state atty general's office in your state?
If they are VALID etc-- they won't keep calling or hang up after you request they stop-- also they should send SOMETHING a few times at the very least  in writing . If they are valid, they will cooperate and  provide proof of validity etc when requested ... you can even request this POV  done thru all 3 credit reports    write to  EACH ONE  and ask them to send a letter  to this COLELCTION AGENCY ( if you even can get a valid address from them in writing !) requesting POV--  if you do get  correct address, forward to the credit bureaus along with a letter asking for POV, they failt o provide anything in the allotted time , then  their company info  and adverse info  against you WILL  be taken off your credit report whether it is a valid debt or not. You can certainly have a debt with a company but whether or NOT this 3rd party collection agency  has their legitimate hands on it is another thing.
Again-- NEVER ever divulge your info or  communicate with these companies by phone either!! Always  do communication by mail ( and as  certified letter)  and only AFTER you KNOW they are the CORRECT company collecting your debt you can decide whether or not you want to go further with them or go to court if it comes to that. You can settle as well-- and if the time frame is past for open end accounts in your state ( 4.5 years in PA from the ladte of the last payment to the creditor) then you can  definitely have this taken off your report from the 3rd party collectors even tho the original creditor can have it on for 7 years. By then these collection agencies can also add on  so many illegal amounts and fudge the amounts of the true  totals and the interest and the dates and amounts of the original principal which is ILLEGAL.
Do not be shy to contact the state attorney's office as well to get further info on the laws of your state as each state varies.  Get written info anywhere you can on the laws of your state. Research on the net-- bankrate is a good site-- keep yourself on top of changes. I can tell you for every one HONEST collection agency, there are 25+ corrupt ones and their spawns of workers as well who can also pilfer private information and use to further their financial gains.  How do we know who is legit and who is selling lists to other companies for pennies on the hundreds!!

REMEMBER most persons calling you from a collection agency  are  working on commission so they do NOT care if you are talking to them with one day left to live in your life --  some of them  will tell you to rob your grandmommas to pay them and want their bank account numbers to do auto payments!! It happens!!

Their ultimate goal is to seal a deal with you for a payment plan  to get their commission and it is an oral agreement  you make with them with a possibility of it being taped  for validity even if the debt is NOT valid!!

They have offices in Concord, CA with different phone numbers too so be warned.

It's an attornys office. They called trying to collect on an old medical bill that had been paid. If you can NOT prove you paid it (mine was three years old and I had no receipts) you will have to pay it again in order to not be sued.

Calls relentlessly and never leaves a message.

Scam artist for sure

This is the Law Offices of Mann Bracken, 702 KING FARM BLVD, Rockville, MD.  They're licensed to collect debt across the country.  Call the number back and tell them you are having a background investigation that requires you to disclose all financial institutions you are involved with.  Then tell them that you need to know exactly what business they have with you, and that they are required by federal law to disclose.

Caller (female voice) keeps requesting to speak with someone not at our home and who we have never heard of............relentless irritation!

the called me once at 8am and when i answered they just hung up on me. so i called back i got a real person after a hour and when i told him that he called not to long ago he just hung up again so i reported them
