These people call me, at least daily, for months, asking for someone whom I do not know. I've told them they have the wrong number, they still keep calling.

I've been getting calls from a collection agency for MONTHS asking for JOHN ALLEN BERGENDAHL and DOROTHY BERGENDAHL.  Apparently they defaulted on a home loan and the bank is after them.  Today I got a call from Wolpoff and Abramson at 301-882-9975 asking for "John".  When I asked, "John who", the caller said "Joooohhhhnnnnn", as if drawing out the phonemes made it more clear!  Then I asked if they were Washington Mutual and they hung up.

I used *69 to get the number and called them back.  I told them that John used to have my number but it was recycled to me SIX YEARS AGO (I found this out from my phone company).  The guy apologized very kindly and said he put an invalid number notice into the system.

TO JOHN ALLEN AND DOROTHY BERGENDAHL: You two have made my life MISERABLE.  I've been getting your goddamn debt collection calls around the clock for MONTHS, and I am going to post ALL OVER on the internet with your FULL LEGAL NAMES.  I hope when you apply for a job, or a bank account, or anything else, people google you and find out that you're irresponsible deadbeats with a collection agency after you.  I hope your friends and relatives type your names into google and read this.  SCREW YOU.

They continue to call my house and when I tried to call back to tell them they have the wrong number I can't get through.

I am so tried of these people calling 10 times a day every day of the week. I have reported it to donotcall.gov but it seem there is nothing that FTC can do about it. I am just tried of them. They are a bunch of [***].

Please stop calling me or the least thing you can do is leave a message so I can communicate with you!  I have won several judgements when my request have not been followed through.

This is my only and last warning/request stop calling.  I have won several judgemants when my requests have not been honered....

I was a new subscriber, never had my name on a phone before. Within a couple of days of getting the new number, put it on the DNC list.

Three weeks later, received a call from 301 882 9975.
Caller ID came up as "Newmarket, MD".  

A female voice asked for two people who strangely had been acquaintances a few years before in another state.

Told her she had the wrong number but she persisted.   Told her to not call me again and hung up.

These people call all day EVERY day starting at about 8am. This needs to stop - I don't even answer the phone anymore.

I called the number and the first time it went through and said the mailbox was full than i called again and it rang once then ther was nothing no ringing or anything.
Who are these people and what do they want.

finally today...after a year ... my last payment to Mann Bracken will arrive, paying off a Target credit charge which I was behind on due to loss of income....good for me....I made the debt and I will be responsible for my debts even if I slip.  

Aug 08 I agreed to pay 1/2 the debt then made arrangements to pay $150/mo for a year.  setting up arrangements with this agency does nothing to stop the calls even if you are paying as agreed....because, my mistake , I failed to get the agreement IN WRITING and they used this against me...I was caught!  so before transferring any money to this agency, request any AGREEMENT IN WRITING because if you do not (which is what happened in my case, they will call you daily demanding payment in full...sometimes twice a day.  I'd either ignore the calls or pick up and then immediately hang up.  

However, a few weeks ago I picked up (because I'm the curious type) and the dude actually threatened taking me to court....on the last payment...lol.  I told him to go right ahead, knock himself out...By this time I had already set up my bill pay and it was staged to go.

These people do nothing but harass you...regardless if you are actually taking your debt seriously, THEY DON'T CARE, they aim to harass...harass...harass...and they can kiss my _ss!

At the same time I was working with Mann Bracken I was also working with Chase Morgan and Bank of America on my other debts; Chase and BOA have agreed to 5yr reasonable payback plan with me, lowering the APR (3% - 6%) provided I make all my payments on time.  In 4 yrs. I will be debt free!  Also they have already reported a positive to my credit report and they don't call me day in and day out, in fact, I have not received any calls from them what so ever.  

I'm curious what Target will do now that I have paid Mann Bracken in full - the full debt - not a reduced debt - So when I received my daily call today from Mann Bracken I picked up, I stated my last agreed upon payment was scheduled to arrive via bill pay today from my bank.  I asked what I could expect to happen next since this will pay off the account and was told in about 30 days, I "SHOULD" receive a letter from Mann Bracken indicating my account was paid in full.  It was suggested (and I think it's a good one), that I mail a copy of this letter on my own to the bureaus myself.  Brown from Mann Bracken indicated Target will do this, however, I am not going to take a chance and will take care of my own business and forward the letter to the following:

I looked up Mann Bracken in the dictionary:

a company whose is but limited to described as:
argumentative, confrontational, offensive, hostile, intimidating, threatening, condescending, arrogant, rude and abrupt.

just had to do this!

I too have been getting phone calls from this number.  Same as everyone, you answer and nobody is there.  Drives me crazy.

We've told them for months we don't know who they are asking for.  Seems like there should be some way to stop these people.  The do not call register only works if the caller decides to abide by the law.  These guys obviously don't.

For at least six weeks, this number has been calling my house at all hours of the day, from 8 am to 10 pm, 7 days a week!!!!  They never leave a message, but if we answer the call all we get is silence.  If we get anything more than silence and stay on the line long enough it goes to music....NEVER do hear a voice.  We have told them to stop calling NUMEROUS times, but they refuse to listen!!!  Over the last couple of weeks, they have started calling from another number as well that shows as "unknown name, unknown number".  If I can find a legal claim that I can pursue against these people, I surely will!!!

Someone called me 4-5 times a day from this number (301) 882-9975. I picked up the phone, and nobody say anything. It's really annoy me. How can I stop this person to call me?

They call multiple times and don't leave a message.  When we answer they hang up.  Still do not know why they call.  This is the second phone number from a mistery caller we have in the last couple of months.

I received my first call from Mann Bracken this morning. They just aquired my Post-Charge-Off account from Capital One. I tried for months to negotiate with CapOne to no avail.

I had to talk over the caller to get my point across.

But I finally was able to tell them that I want a letter from them with the "meaningful disclosure" information that most legitimate debt collectors provide prior to the first phone call.

Let's see if that keeps them from calling until they feel the letter has arrived. My experience with other collection agencies is that it will.

Once I get the letter, I then write them back requesting a "verification of debt" or "validation of debt" per the FDCPA guidelines. At this point they MUST stop calling until they provide the information to comply with the "verification of debt".

P.S.
I called the Mann Bracken toll free number 1-800-678-7720 to attempt to get their fax number. Someone named "Anton" answered and basically wanted my case number before giving me their fax number. Weird.

I keep receiving calls from them even AFTER asking them to stop.  They are calling for someone I've never heard of.  I filed a complain with the attorney general.

Receive calls from this number, but no response when I answer, just background noise - like someone listening, but not responding.  Finally called the number and got "Law Offices of Mann Bracken".
