Said an Indian accent person, he is calling on behalf of Govt. Canada to stop telemarketing call

I got four calls from this number (001 310 928 7055) at 6am this Morning November 13, 2010. They left two voicemails with 4 digit codes. What's this all about? Surely this can be traced through the USA telephone suppliers, it seems I am not the only one getting calls from this number.

The scammer are at it again.

DEATH TO SCAMMERS!

I needed to verify my cell phone for Google Adsense and this number called me immediately after I hit the "send code" button on the computer. They're FAST!

They didn't leave a message the first time, so I hit the button and answered the second call. It was an automated message with my Google Adsense code.

Totally legit.

i have a feeling it is a call centre that does phone nubmer verification for a number of companies... google... ebay ... craigslist....strangely i had a call from one such centre giving me a code that i was expecting and whilst on the phone i received a call waiting from this number

I got a call from them at 0543 this morning. Pretty pathetic if they have to go this early in the AM to catch a fish.  I am not the typical fish. Put them on the "do not call' list.

I do not remember asking for anybody to verify my information in the recent few days.

recevied the phone call form 7607058888 said is health department then recevied a code form 3109287055 then 7607058888 called back and looking for the code...wondering what is going on.  hang up the phone.

Received a call from 310-8682 at 5:30pmMST today. Heavy Indian accent made the caller difficult to understand, and he mumble the company name when I asked him to repeat it. He wanted to add my name & phone # to a "do not call" list (which I explained I've already done online here in Canada).

Seconds later I got the second call from 310-928-7055 - a recorded message from Craigslist with a verification number for setting up an account.

Now really - how dumb do they think we are???  First - I never visited Craigslist and don't need an account. Second, they're obviously trying to use my phone number to set up an account, and by having ME submit the verification, I'd probably end up responsible for whatever nonsense they get up to after that. Third - the Craigslist recording actually said "never give out your verification number - if anyone asks for it it's a scam" !!

Then the guy calls back and wants the verification code. I said No Thanks, I don't want to participate, goodbye.

He called right back ... very angry ... insisted he wasn't going to ask me for any personal information and I MUST have my name on the list and MUST give him the code. I said No Thanks again. Hopefully that's the end of it.

Note: the caller I.D. says International Call, but the number shown is just 7 digits:  310-8682.

Part of a scam, but i only answered the first call, and wasn't polite to the person asking for infomation.

i just received a call from this number and got scared thinking that what for an ISD number (3109287055).
Called me this late night at 1:00 a.m.

This phone number belongs to a company called trafficholder, if you get this phone, that is probably someone is using your number to verify his account in that website, and also he may phone you beforehand to ask you for that activation number.

This one is alive and well. EXACTLY the same story, 20 calls for a washer and dryer. I cant believe for someone who runs snopes on EVERYTHING fell for this one too

I know what they are trying to do. This people who post scams don't want to be found later, so they use your number and try some how to get the code from you. They will use a lot of different stories. For me it was.....We are giving a way a washer and a lot of people replied we want to be fair to all those people so, we work for craigslist and have system that generates codes, if you are intrested enter you phone number and send us the code and we will let you know if you are the winner. How smart ha... don't fall for it it's scaaaaaaaaam

So if I am getting calls from this number but I have never used Craig's List then someone else used my phone number to place an ad???

This is the Craigs List activation number. When you place an ad, with a new account they will call your phone number listed on your account and give you an activation code.

i receive a txt message from +13109287055 with message: *Your Google verification code is 606197*   what should i do ??? i read some message regarding to dis number... some one says dis is a scam... advice me pls....
