+13109287055 for me was a robot for Google AD Sense activation code.

This number called me to give me a pin number to verify the phone number I had entered when signing up for Google's "Local Business Center" service.  Be ready to write down the pin code because it gives it fast and only once before hanging up.

Its craigsist calling you to give you an activation code for an account~

maxmind antifraud system  just bought a website template from templatemonster.com they called to give me code for verification

I post an ad on craigslist and the called me with an activation code to verify my posting. I belive 310-928-7055 is a craigs list number.

now they are saying that they calling from do not call list canada.  Please do not give them passcode.

I also received phone call with caller Id: 212-777-3456 and they are verifying if we receive ANY MARKETING CALLS UNSOLICITED. she says FCC has got a system to stop any more unsolicited call and In next call computer provide 5 digit  verification code which she wants to know. I asked why she is asking the code her computer system is generating, she told to verify that number is correct one. Then I received call from caller Id: 310-928-7055 saying it is from crieg list. I informed her about the 5 digit code, she says it is correct.

I verified later in FCC site , I do not find any such project to provide consumers with system. Now I am worried whether some fraud in under way and how far my information is compromised. For those of you who experience the same thing, did anything happen??

I advise others who receive such calls next time, try to track them and inform either FCC OR FTC OR state attorney general if it sounds like fraud.Caller ID: 310-928-7055

I also receieved the same phone calls, and stupidly confirmed the  5 digit number. I am terrified. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. HAVE THEY HACKED MY CREDIT CARD? OR BANK ACCOUNTS??? please, someone who has also confirmed the number, can you tell me what happend to you. what should I do next to protect myself.

I accidently typed in the wrong persons number because it is similar to mine on craigslist. I'm sorry to who ever it was in Bakersfield Ca!!

Why are they calling

Google uses it as a verification for a business listing.  It gave me an access code to validate my listing and approve it

i got a call from this number gave me an activation key and then and other Indian guy called from this number 2127773456 and the Indian guy said that he needs that number so he can activate the number and then i asked what for and he said so he can monitor my calls and know when a prank call or scam call is being made and i was pissed so i said F off literally.

It's GOOGLE's Local Business Center calling with your activation code. You should have requested inclusion on GOOGLE to receive it.

some turkey called, said he was from the FCC - do not call list.  said that I could report companies that call me.  Next step an automated devices from craigslist would call and give a 5 digit number, so I could report these companies to the FCC.  Calls back and asks for the number to check it.  I did not give it to him, asked him where I could reach him after I checked out his story. He gave me the FCC's Do Not Call 888 number.

They must need to connect my home number with a craiglist account.  I guess you can't advertise on craiglist without a verified phone number.

i got a call from a guy today who said i wil recieve a call with a 5 digit pin and if i tell him the pin he will be able to block any unwanted called from telemarketers. I did recieve the pin in the next call but when he called me later i told him i dont want to block any calls and hung up he called me atlead 4 to 5 times after that to get the pin ..so i guess it was a fraud.but dont really know the conquence of giving the pin to him.

I just received a call from this number on my cellphone after filling out a job application online. It was  recorded message with a 5 digit pin code and they said they where from craigslist. below is the email i followed to fill out the application.

my friend gave me a # to call 888-789-3967. said it was for a $2,500 grant. he gave it to several family members. my niece got through (the # is forever busy)the person on the line told her to set up a group to met at her house @ 1pm  consisting of no more than 30 people. she did! myself included when it was my turn to talk to the lady on the other end(310-928-7055) she asked for my name,address,and a cell phone #. she said i was going to receive a call.i did get the call with the craigslist code telling me not to share it with anyone! i did because she turned right around and asked me for the code. i felt so stupid. well, there was a few people to go after me i told them to question her about her non-profit org. she was very elusive i knew then, damn! i been got. she said i would recieve my app.for the grant in the mail in 2 weeks. im holding my breath

I just suscribe to a site survey compagny that claim to give ipods upon 2 month testing. They asked for my phone number and 15 seconds later I receive a call from this phone number with a confirmation code to provide on the web page.

I guess that this system just verify any given phone number for a registration.
